Chapter 800 Dashiell and Seraphina Have a Public Argument

After Cecilia had breakfast, she was planning to go to the backyard to bask in the sun.

She was really trying hard to keep herself calm and live in this house.

The phone rang again, and she answered Dashiell's call, "Dashiell."

"Are you at The Whitaker Villa?"

"Where else?" Cecilia chuckled lightly.

Dashiell also laughed and said, "I'm coming to see you."

"What's up?"

"I have something to tell you."

"Can't you say it over the phone?" Cecilia was clearly refusing.

Dashiell paused, then said, "I can."

He couldn't help but feel a bit emotional; Cecilia was ultimately rejecting him.

He spoke directly, "Lyra will be joining the Lockhart Group."

Cecilia sneered.

She had guessed it.

Even if Alaric had slapped Lyra in front of her that day, so what?

Under the pressure from the Monroe family, Alaric would still compromise.

He was compromising more and more.

"Alaric has no choice," Dashiell tried to explain.

"You didn't need to come and tell me this. The Lockhart Group is already yours. Whoever you want to bring in is your business. I have no right to manage it," Cecilia replied indifferently.

Dashiell felt a bit frustrated.

He awkwardly said, "Then I won't disturb you anymore."

Cecilia hung up the phone directly.

From the moment Alaric chose to divorce her, she knew very well that she would no longer have any privileges with him.

So she would learn to calmly accept all setbacks.

Dashiell put down his phone and couldn't help but sigh.

When he received the news that Lyra was indeed joining the Lockhart Group, his first concern was Cecilia. Of course, Alaric was also considering Cecilia's feelings, so he asked Dashiell to call her first. After the call, he felt it was completely unnecessary.

There was no need to explain to Cecilia; she wouldn't oppose it, nor would she approve.

Dashiell dialed again, calling Alaric.

The call connected, "Dashiell."

"Is it convenient to talk?" Dashiell asked.

He knew very well that Alaric's current position didn't allow for casual conversations.

"Go ahead."

"I just told Cecilia about Lyra joining the Lockhart Group. She didn't say anything."

Alaric was silent.

In fact, he should have expected Cecilia to react this way.

"Okay, I understand," Alaric said indifferently.

"Alaric," Dashiell called out just as Alaric was about to hang up.

"What?"

"Do you really want to keep the Monroe family?" Dashiell asked.

Alaric just gripped his phone tightly.

"I think it's unnecessary," Dashiell suggested. "Alaric, you should think it over."

After saying that, Dashiell didn't say more.

He knew very well that Alaric had his own more comprehensive life plan.

"I won't be in Serenovia City for a while. Keep an eye on Cecilia for me," Alaric said.

"Okay," Dashiell agreed.

In fact, they both knew that Cecilia didn't need to be watched over.

If she decided to compromise, she would truly compromise.

After the call, Dashiell put his phone aside and looked at his computer screen.

He was really busy.

The Whitaker Group was fine; it was mainly managed by the Whitaker family, so he didn't need to spend much time on it. But Everhart Bank and the Lockhart Group were really overwhelming him.

He picked up the extension phone, "In half an hour, let's have a high-level meeting."

"Yes, Mr. Montgomery," his secretary responded respectfully.

Half an hour later.

Everhart Bank's high-level meeting room.

More than twenty executives were seated around the conference table.

Dashiell sat in the center, with Seraphina next to him.

The sudden meeting left everyone a bit surprised.

They didn't know what the meeting was about.

Seraphina didn't know either.

She thought it was just about work distribution.

She would just listen.

But unexpectedly, as soon as the meeting started, Dashiell said directly, "Ms. Everhart, report on the work you've done recently and your work plan for the future."

Seraphina was stunned.

Was Dashiell joking?

Asking her to report her work on the spot.

What could she report?

Not to mention what she had done recently, she could make something up, but as for the future work plan, she hadn't even thought about it.

All this time, she still didn't know what she was supposed to do.

When Dashiell was around, it seemed like he arranged everything.

Now that she was in his position, she felt like everything was being dictated to her.

Seraphina didn't respond, and Dashiell's face darkened, "Ms. Everhart?"

Seraphina felt a chill down her spine.

She said, "I've mainly been adapting to my current position. My daily tasks include reading documents, approving documents, being forced to attend meetings, and listening to reports from subordinates."

Dashiell's face darkened further.

The other executives were all nervous because of Seraphina's words.

Previously, it was said that Dashiell was the worker, and Seraphina was the boss. Seraphina could do whatever she wanted.

Now the roles had changed.

Seraphina's words seemed like she wanted to be scolded by Dashiell.

Sure enough.

Dashiell got angry. He said coldly, "Seraphina, I didn't bring you to Everhart Bank to let you take a vacation! You have a responsibility to fulfill your role. Do you think you're worthy of this job?"

The room fell silent.

Dashiell usually didn't lose his temper, whether as the general manager or now as the chairman. He rarely brought his emotions to work."

"Plus, he was very capable, so even though he was young and somewhat lacking in legitimacy, most executives and even Everhart Bank employees recognized him.

Now, with his sudden outburst, no one dared to make a sound.

Seraphina, being yelled at by Dashiell, also got angry.

She was actually struggling with her job, not knowing what to do, having to learn everything, and not understanding anything. She was forced to work every day, getting up early and staying up late, trying to improve herself through hard work.

Despite all this, she was scolded by Dashiell in front of so many people, and she couldn't take it.

She stood up from her seat and shouted at Dashiell, "Was it my choice to work here? Wasn't it you who kept me here? Didn't I say I couldn't do it! How dare you lose your temper at me now!"

Seraphina's outburst made the atmosphere even more awkward.

Everyone wished they could escape immediately.

They were worried that the conflict between Seraphina and Dashiell would affect them.

Dashiell looked at Seraphina coldly. Being yelled at by her, he also felt his pride was hurt.

Seraphina slammed her notebook down, "I quit!"

What's the big deal?

It's just a job.

She quit, and she had plenty of money anyway!
