Chapter 173 Rebecca's Threat
Cecilia gently wiped Alaric's lips, almost like she was just cleaning the corner of his mouth.
She said slowly, "Don't bring dirty things home."
Alaric went along with everything Cecilia did, and a charming smile spread across his face, making him look very alluring.
Rebecca's face grew darker. She knew exactly what Cecilia meant by "dirty things."
From a distance, it looked like she and Alaric were kissing, but they weren't.
Rebecca swallowed hard, trying to control the discomfort in her heart.
She followed Alaric to the restroom. He seemed to know she would follow; he was clearly waiting for her, and Cassius had excused himself, leaving them alone.
Rebecca couldn't hide her excitement as she approached him. She thought tonight was her night to shine. Her natural stage presence made her the most dazzling person under the spotlight, and even Alaric would be captivated.
'Men are all susceptible to temptation,' she thought. So Alaric wouldn't reject her.
With love in her heart, she walked up to Alaric, her heart skipping a beat. They had known each other for years. She knew so much about him. She was the only woman who had stayed by his side for so long and knew who he really was. She was different from everyone else, especially from Cecilia. Cecilia was just a tool he used. She was not. She and Alaric had years of feelings. She didn't believe Alaric would be indifferent to her.
So she grabbed Alaric's clothes, stood on tiptoe, and kissed him. They had a past. They could start over. She closed her eyes and offered her red lips.
As she got close to him, she heard Alaric's cold, guttural voice, sending shivers down her spine. He said, "You should know when to stop."
Rebecca froze. Her face, full of love, suddenly seemed covered with frost, turning pale. She thought she had heard wrong. Although Alaric had previously not let her kiss him, he had never pushed her away so mercilessly. But his voice had a chilling edge she knew well. The familiar chill in his voice signaled an inevitable, merciless storm.
When Rebecca couldn't react, Alaric's cold voice repeated, "Stop causing trouble for Cecilia!"
So, he was warning her not to compete with Cecilia! He was warning her not to provoke Cecilia, let alone make things difficult for her. She knew Alaric must know what she was doing. He was too smart. He could detect everything with the slightest hint. She never thought of hiding it from him. She even did it on purpose, eager to see how Alaric would react to her targeting Cecilia.
Would Alaric suppress her for Cecilia? Obviously not. So many days had passed, and Alaric had taken no action. She believed the feelings between Alaric and Cecilia were just so-so. Maybe they were just showing affection in front of others. In fact, they were in a fake marriage.
But at this moment, Alaric warned her for Cecilia. But how could she give up just like that? How could she let the woman who stole her man have her way? She was so overwhelmed that she almost couldn't resist the urge to forcefully kiss him upon hearing Alaric's words.
But then, she heard Cecilia's voice. That bitch Cecilia's voice.
Cecilia slipped between them effortlessly and took Alaric away. Rebecca's face darkened as she watched Cecilia meticulously wipe Alaric's lips. Cecilia took her time, and when she was finally done, she said, "Alright."
Alright. The dirty things were wiped clean. Now they could kiss.
Cecilia stood on tiptoe, wearing a black trench coat that hid her stunning figure. She wrapped her arms around Alaric's neck and, in front of everyone, kissed him on the lips. This wasn't just a peck; it was a full-on kiss.
Alaric's lips were soft, like cotton candy. It wasn't a usual way to describe a man, but Alaric was that charming. Cecilia had been longing for this moment for a long time. She even forgot what it felt like to kiss Dominic. Maybe Dominic never made her feel anything.
Her kiss stunned everyone. Cecilia was always so well-mannered, elegant, and wise. She would never do anything out of line, let alone kiss someone in public. But here she was, kissing Alaric deeply, their lips and tongues intertwined.
Cassius felt an unexpected attraction to Cecilia. Her charm wasn't from her clothes; her black trench coat was ordinary compared to Rebecca's luxurious attire. But her bold move to kiss Alaric made her seem irresistibly seductive.
Cassius felt a bit dry-mouthed. He'd been with countless women, but Cecilia, the upper-class millennial he always scorned, was turning him on. As he watched intently, he felt a murderous gaze. Damn, Alaric's possessiveness was strong. He was just watching them kiss; what was the big deal? Cassius shifted his gaze.
He saw Rebecca, her face twisted in anger, glaring at Alaric and Cecilia. And it wasn't just Rebecca. Dominic was standing not far away, clearly furious too. Cassius thought, Dominic probably never experienced this side of Cecilia, charming and bold. Whether a woman had charm depended on whether a man knew how to bring it out. Judging by Cecilia's current performance, it seemed Dominic's skills were lacking compared to Alaric's.
Cassius watched Dominic turn and leave, looking a mess. At that moment, Cecilia pulled away from Alaric's lips. She had intended just a light kiss but got too engrossed. Alaric had a kind of magic that even scared her a little. She tried to control her heartbeat and said, "Let's go back."
She wanted to help Alaric leave, but suddenly, she was pulled into a tight embrace. A big hand held the back of her head, and another heavy kiss came down. So, Alaric wasn't cotton candy; he was clearly a big bad wolf!
