Chapter 339 Dashiell Loses His Temper
After figuring things out, Seraphina got up from bed without much burden.
As soon as she got up, she felt dizzy.
Her stomach also felt uncomfortable.
She thought, 'Did I drink fake alcohol yesterday?
Why does she feel so uncomfortable?'
Seraphina freshened up, then opened the door to get some water.
She thought she wouldn't need to go to work today.
She would stay home and rest for a day.
Seraphina opened the door to her room and went out as she called for time off.
Outside the door in the dining room, Dashiell and Lucy were having breakfast.
Lucy appeared surprised upon seeing Seraphina, and then greeted her promptly, "Ms. Everhart, you wake up so early today?"
Lucy was so enthusiastic that Seraphina didn't even bother.
Lucy seemed used to it and didn't show any reaction.
But Dashiell didn't even look at Seraphina.
Of course, Seraphina didn't notice either.
After requesting time off, she went to pour herself a glass of water."
Drinking made her thirsty.
If she weren't thirsty, she wouldn't have woken up so early.
Maybe if she slept a bit more, her head wouldn't hurt so much, and her stomach wouldn't feel so uncomfortable.
She drank some water and was about to return to her room when she put down the glass.
Lucy spoke again, "Ms. Everhart, would you like to join us for breakfast? This morning we have oatmeal, it might make your stomach feel better."
Seraphina originally wanted to refuse outright.
Her stomach suddenly growled.
It seemed to remind her that she needed to eat something.
Plus, her stomach did feel uncomfortable, so she went over.
She sat across from Dashiell, choosing a position far from him.
Seraphina habitually didn't want to be too close to Dashiell.
At that moment, she saw Dashiell suddenly put down his utensils and wheel himself away.
Lucy served Seraphina some oatmeal, and when she returned and saw Mr. Rainier leaving, she glanced at the half-full bowl in front of him and quickly asked, "Mr. Rainier, aren't you eating anymore?"
"Not much of an appetite today," Dashiell said.
Lucy found it a bit strange.
Mr. Rainier was never picky about food; he would eat whatever she made.
Lucy thought, 'Why did he suddenly have no appetite today?'
Seraphina looked at Dashiell's indifferent back and felt inexplicably annoyed.
It felt like he was deliberately avoiding her.
Seraphina didn't let herself think too much about it.
She didn't care anyway.
She lowered her head and drank the oatmeal.
She had to admit that Lucy's cooking skills were quite good.
Even oatmeal could be made so delicious.
She originally just wanted to take a few bites.
But she ended up finishing one bowl and then another.
Lucy remained with her, smiling at her hearty appetite. "Ms. Everhart, if you like it, you can get up a bit earlier every morning before work, and I'll have it ready for you."
"Never mind, I can't get up," Seraphina refused directly.
Every morning, going to work was like a battle; she had no time for breakfast.
"Skipping breakfast is bad for your stomach."
"You talk too much," Seraphina said irritably.
Lucy felt a bit wronged.
She silently stopped talking.
Seeing Lucy's expression, Seraphina felt a bit guilty.
After all, Lucy was very good to her.
She cleared her throat, but she couldn't apologize directly to Lucy; she had her pride.
She deliberately changed the subject, "Did you help me change my clothes last night? Thanks."
She used this way to ease the awkward atmosphere a bit.
"No, Ms. Everhart, it was Mr. Rainier taking care of you last night," Lucy quickly explained.
Seraphina spat out her oatmeal.
It was extremely inelegant.
Lucy wrinkled her nose in slight disgust.
Seraphina coughed several times.
She almost choked to death on Lucy's words.
After a long while, she loudly asked, "What did you say?!"
"I said it was Mr. Rainier taking care of you last night. I wanted to take care of you, but Mr. Rainier told me to rest early, so I..." Lucy saw Seraphina's face turned grim again and quickly explained, "Last night, Ms. Everhart, you were vomiting badly, and Mr. Rainier was very worried about you."
"So, Dashiell helped me change my clothes?" Seraphina was about to explode.
Seraphina thought, 'Fuck! He even took off her bra!'
"Probably," Lucy answered, forcing herself to sound confident.
Seraphina was really getting pissed off.
Seeing Seraphina's expression, Lucy mustered the courage to say, "Ms. Everhart, haven't you and Mr. Rainier already had sex? Isn't it normal for Mr. Rainier to help you change clothes? Why are you so angry..."
Before she could finish, Seraphina slammed her utensils on the table and walked straight to Dashiell's room.
Dashiell had gone back to his room after leaving the dining table.
At this moment, Seraphina went to find him.
She didn't knock, just pushed the door open and went in.
Dashiell was sitting at his computer desk, typing on the keyboard.
Seeing Seraphina suddenly appear, he glanced at her and then continued to focus on the screen.
"Dashiell, who told you to change my clothes last night, who told you to do that!" Seraphina demanded.
She was furious.
Dashiell remained calm in the face of Seraphina's outburst.
He didn't even shift his gaze, still focused on the screen.
He said in a flat tone, "I'll remember that next time."
Such a straightforward sentence, with no emotion at all.
Hearing this, Seraphina got even angrier.
Why could Dashiell be so calm? Why didn't he show any remorse?
Why did he treat her like this?
Making her feel like she was the one picking a fight?
Clearly, Dashiell was in the wrong.
Clearly, Dashiell had undressed her without her permission.
Why could he be so nonchalant about it!
"Dashiell, do you know that your behavior is despicable and shameful and..."
"So what do you want me to do?" Dashiell stopped typing and looked at Seraphina.
Seraphina was stunned.
She felt a lump in her chest, suddenly feeling suffocated and unable to vent.
"Is an apology enough?" Dashiell asked, "Or should I write a guarantee, promising not to undress you, not to enter your room, not to get close to you next time."
Seraphina stared at Dashiell.
She felt that Dashiell was acting strange today.
Clearly, he wasn't angry, just like usual, but at the same time, he seemed a bit intimidating.
She thought, 'Fuck. Who should be angry here?'
"No need!" Seraphina said fiercely, "I'll just consider myself having been seen by a pervert!"
After saying that, she slammed the door shut.
Dashiell's fingers under the computer desk had unconsciously clenched into a fist.
Suppressing his emotions, he silently adjusted.
He pressed his lips together for a long time.
For a long time, he refocused on the computer screen.
Many times, he relied on work to numb his emotions, and it never failed.
