Chapter 185 A Fight to the Death
Cecilia called Cassius.
Cassius answered groggily, "Cecilia, it's so early! You're interrupting my sleep!"
Cecilia checked the time. It was past 9 AM. How was that early?
"Didn't I ask you to do something a few days ago?" she asked.
"What was it?" Cassius sounded annoyed.
"Did you find out about the Wendy and David scandal?" Cecilia inquired.
Cassius finally seemed to wake up. He got out of bed, sounding more alert, "Yeah, I found it."
Cecilia knew she could count on Cassius. In her past life, Alaric's power was definitely because of Cassius's support.
"Can you expose it for me? Thanks," Cecilia asked politely.
"If you do this, Rebecca will be completely ruined," Cassius warned.
"Do you have any concerns?" Cecilia asked bluntly.
Cassius paused, then said, "Why would I?"
"Concerns for Alaric," Cecilia replied.
"Why would Alaric care?" Cassius asked.
"Rebecca is his ex-girlfriend, right?" Cecilia raised an eyebrow.
Cassius laughed. 'Cecilia believes that Alaric and Rebecca have an affair, which is why she is relentlessly targeting Rebecca. When a woman is ruthless, men can't do much,' he thought.
"Alaric never explained it to you?" Cassius asked, surprised.
"Explain what?"
"Nothing." Since Alaric didn't explain, he had no right to say more.
Cecilia frowned. Sometimes she found Cassius a bit strange. But when it came to serious matters, no one was more reliable.
"Then I'll leave exposing Wendy's scandal to you."
"Okay," Cassius agreed.
Cecilia thanked him again, and they hung up.
Cassius called Alaric to inform him, "Cecilia asked me to expose Wendy's scandal. Wendy is now the spokesperson Rebecca signed for a hundred million dollars. Once Wendy's scandal is exposed, Rebecca will face huge losses. Given Wendy's situation, she definitely won't be able to pay back the endorsement fee. More importantly, Rebecca's current business project will be greatly affected, which means Rebecca will be left with nothing in the Adams family!"
"So?" Alaric asked.
"So you're okay with it, are you?" Cassius asked.
"Rebecca should understand her true position," Alaric said coldly.
Cassius followed through. He always obeyed Alaric.
At the Starlight Group, in the Director of Marketing's office, Rebecca sat in her luxurious chair, coldly looking at the news on her phone. The internet was still full of praise for Cecilia. Rebecca, overshadowed by Cecilia's brilliance, couldn't swallow her anger from that night.
She would never let Cecilia off!
The Harmony Threads was just a luxury brand. Without this brand's presence, she could still make Cecilia's Tower of Light miserable.
She picked up the phone and instructed her secretary, "Is the press conference ready?"
"Yes, Ms. Adams."
"Are all the media invited?"
"Confirmed one by one."
"Did you secure the headlines?"
"Yes, as soon as our press conference starts, it'll be trending."
"Make sure there are no mistakes today," Rebecca reminded.
"Yes."
Rebecca hung up harshly and thought, 'Does Cecilia think one store could boost a mall's popularity? Ridiculous. The real draw is top celebrities and managing the business circle. Starlight Group's experience with chain supermarkets has laid a solid foundation for commercial development. Suppressing the Tower of Light will be easy.'
Rebecca reveled in her imagined victory when her phone rang. It was Jasper. Annoyed, she answered, "We're done."
"I'm not here to reconcile."
"So what do you want?" Rebecca sneered. She had only used Jasper. Once he was no longer useful, she abandoned him.
"Don't compete with Cecilia," Jasper warned.
Rebecca laughed mockingly, "Have you fallen for Cecilia too?"
Jasper's expression changed.
"As long as it's Alaric's woman, you can fall for her, right?" Rebecca said mercilessly. "Jasper, you know you can't compare to Alaric, so why compete with him? What can you win against him? Have some self-awareness."
"Rebecca, out of our past relationship, I'm kindly reminding you. If you insist on not listening, whatever happens to you is your own business. I won't help you," Jasper said angrily.
Rebecca was dismissive, "I don't need your help, and you can't help me with anything! It's either me or Cecilia; we are irreconcilable!"
"Then it will be you who loses," Jasper said angrily.
"You think you can threaten me?" Rebecca didn't listen, still smug. "Alaric won't kill me."
"Where do you get the confidence that he won't?"
"Because he owes me."
"Rebecca, you never knew..."
"Enough!" Rebecca lost patience. "I don't want to waste more words with you! Whether Cecilia sent you or you still have feelings for me, I won't change my mind. Don't call me again! In my world, there's no other man besides Alaric."
Jasper's fingers trembled with anger. In the end, he hung up. He had fulfilled his responsibility. If Rebecca insisted on her path, that was her business. He wouldn't interfere.
Rebecca also hung up angrily. 'Jasper actually came to plead for Cecilia? Ridiculous.'
She had come this far; no one but Alaric could change her mind. Cecilia couldn't spare Alaric for her, so she wouldn't leave Cecilia anything to live for!
