Chapter 163 Counterattack

Diana followed Cecilia straight into her office.

For a moment, Diana was stunned.

Cecilia's presence had really thrown her off!

Even though the Advertising and Media Department was a support team, everyone fought for their resources. To get better promo spots, other departments had unknowingly made Advertising and Media Department a decision-maker. This became an unspoken rule at Lockhart Group. No one dared to call it out, fearing backlash. The Advertising Department's blunders wouldn't affect them; instead, other departments would shoulder the blame.  No one was willing to jeopardize their career over this. But now, Cecilia had bluntly exposed this, leaving the Advertising and Media Director speechless.

Besides fearing Cecilia's status, he knew he was in the wrong.

Diana felt a bit pleased.

They used to have to suck up to the Advertising and Media Department to get resources, worried they'd be denied and given to someone else. If promotions lagged and performance suffered, they'd be the ones in trouble. Seeing Cecilia scold them so harshly was satisfying!

"Diana," Cecilia called as she sat down.

Diana snapped out of it, "Yes, Mrs. Whitaker."

"Today, push the Advertising and Media Department to finalize the Tower of Light promo plan. If they don't, send the first fax straight to the chairman's office so they can oversee it," Cecilia said.

"Okay," Diana agreed right away.

Time to show the Advertising and Media Department what we can do!

They used to hate the department's arrogance. Now, finally, someone was putting them in their place!

"Go ahead with your tasks. If you hit any snags, come to me," Cecilia said.

"Okay, thank you," Diana quickly replied.

Cecilia nodded.

Diana left.

Cecilia thought for a moment, then picked up the phone, "Rose, come in here."

"Yes."

Rose entered.

Cecilia got straight to the point. "Find out where Starlight Group plans to build their business circle, if they own the land, and if they have municipal approval."

"Mrs. Whitaker, do you think Starlight Group is just bluffing?" Rose caught on quickly.

"I wouldn't doubt anyone else, but Starlight Group has a grudge against me. They might be targeting me," Cecilia replied.

"Okay." Rose nodded.

She didn't pry further.

Knowing too much about your boss's personal matters can be risky. This was a workplace rule, and as a secretary, she knew better.

"Also, follow up with Michael on his business attraction list. Once it's finalized, come see me alone."

"Yes."

Rose left.

Cecilia dove back into work, not wasting a second.

Augustus was always by Cecilia's side.

At first, he doubted Cecilia's ability to succeed at work, just like he didn't think Alaric could surpass him. But they both proved him wrong, surprising everyone.

He suddenly realized Alaric and Cecilia were a perfect match—both decisive and commanding.

In the Lockhart Group's Vice President's office, Vincent's good mood vanished after hearing Gordon's report.

Cecilia seemed to know everything. With so many departments and responsibilities, how did she keep track of all these details?

"Mr. Lockhart," Gordon began cautiously, "Cecilia is pressing me for the promotional plan. If I don't deliver, she'll go straight to the chairman! The chairman is her dad, and we are in the wrong about the promotional support. I'm worried this will embarrass our department and affect your reputation since you're in charge."

Vincent's eyes narrowed.

Gordon didn't dare say more.

But Vincent understood. He knew Cecilia would blow this up.

He had given the Advertising and Media Department so much power because he benefited privately. If this got out, his actions might be exposed.

He gritted his teeth. "Do as Cecilia says. Let's see what she can achieve with this campaign!"

"Yes," Gordon quickly agreed, relieved.

He was wary of going against Cecilia. He felt he couldn't afford to provoke her and had to follow her orders.

Diana came to Cecilia's office just before the end of the shift, excitedly holding the promotional plan from the Advertising and Media Department. "They delivered the plan and even optimized it based on our needs."

Cecilia smiled but reminded her, "Keep an eye on the schedule. Don't let them slack off."

"Okay." Diana nodded quickly.

"By the way," Cecilia remembered, "have we finalized the celebrity endorsement?"

"The Advertising and Media Department proposed Ethan Wheeler, a top-tier celebrity. He's popular, and we've had good collaborations with him before," Diana reported, satisfied.

"Not him," Cecilia said directly.

"Do you have someone in mind?" Diana asked.

"Wendy Alexander."

"Wendy is very famous, but her endorsement fees are high. I'm worried our budget won't cover it," Diana said, concerned.

"If we want effective promotion, we need the most popular celebrity in the Yakurosean Empire. The endorsement fee is not our concern. We state the demand, and the Advertising and Media Department gets it done."

"Okay," Diana didn't question it. She trusted Cecilia completely now, even if she thought using such a top-tier celebrity was a bit wasteful.

Cecilia knew it was wasteful, but it wasn't her money being wasted. It would be the Starlight Group's money.

She was sure of it. What she wanted, the Starlight Group wanted too.

She wasn't being kind. She was ready to retaliate against those with bad intentions.
