Chapter 400 Seraphina Throwing a Fit
Seraphina bolted into the bathroom and started puking her guts out.
She just couldn't wrap her head around it. Why was this pregnancy such a nightmare? She felt queasy all the time, and it had been dragging on for months. Was this really gonna last until she popped the kid out?
"Feelin' any better?" A familiar male voice piped up next to her.
"No!" Seraphina snapped back.
Dashiell pressed his lips together and handed her a cup of warm water.
Seraphina glanced at it but didn't take it.
She shuffled over to the sink and rinsed her mouth with tap water. She just couldn't bring herself to accept Dashiell's help.
If it wasn't for Dashiell knocking her up, would she be suffering like this?
The more Seraphina thought about it, the angrier she got.
Her stomach churned again, and she unleashed all her frustration on Dashiell. "Can you just stay away from me? I'm already pissed off, and seeing you makes it worse. Can't you just give me a break?"
Dashiell just watched Seraphina in her fit of rage.
He said, "Alright, get some rest. I left some warm water by your nightstand. Drink it if you get thirsty."
With that, Dashiell wheeled himself out of the bathroom.
Seraphina watched Dashiell's retreating figure in the mirror.
Why did Dashiell always make her regret yelling at him right after she did it?
Seraphina felt like she had committed some unforgivable sin!
She wiped her face and left the bathroom, heading back to bed.
She glanced at the water on the nightstand. She drank it out of thirst, not guilt.
After all, it was Dashiell's fault they were in this mess. If he hadn't forced her to marry him, they wouldn't be here.
She was torn from the man she loved, and now she felt like she was living in hell!
She even wondered if the baby was against her from the start.
Maybe the baby was on Dashiell's side.
Seraphina angrily gulped down the water and lay down to sleep.
Her stomach felt awful, and she was in a foul mood.
She had no idea how long this miserable period would last.
Seraphina eventually fell asleep in a daze.
When she woke up in the evening, it was already dark.
Everyone in the house was sitting on the living room sofa, Magnolia watching TV.
Lucy was sitting close to Dashiell, seemingly asking him about pronunciation, and Dashiell was patiently correcting her.
They looked...
Why did it seem like they were the real family, and she was the outsider?
Why did it feel like Lucy was Dashiell's wife?
"Mrs. Rainier, you're awake." Lucy stood up quickly, looking very respectful.
Seraphina glanced at Lucy and then turned to walk to the dining room.
Lucy was a bit puzzled.
What had she done to piss off Seraphina?
She felt that Mrs. Rainier had been particularly hostile towards her lately.
Of course, as a maid, Lucy didn't dare to argue. She quickly said, "Mrs. Rainier, are you hungry?"
"If I wasn't hungry, why would I be sitting at the dining table?" Seraphina snapped.
Lucy didn't dare to retort and quickly said, "Alright, I'll bring out the food right away."
Seraphina responded with a grunt, looking very unapproachable.
Soon, Lucy brought the food to the table and called out to Magnolia and Dashiell on the sofa, "Ms. Rainier, Mr. Rainier, dinner's ready."
The two on the sofa finally moseyed over.
Seraphina couldn't help but check the time on her phone.
It was already 8:30 PM, and they hadn't eaten dinner yet?
Had they been waiting for her?
No reason to get all sentimental; maybe they weren't even hungry.
She just ate her dinner solo. With her constant nausea, Seraphina didn't eat much, mostly oatmeal.
Dashiell and Magnolia seemed to always eat oatmeal with her, every day, every meal.
"Still feeling sick?" Magnolia asked.
Seraphina stayed silent.
"I felt better after four months, but you're still so bad. Tomorrow, we'll take you to the hospital to see if there's anything that can help," Magnolia said.
"I'm not going to the hospital," Seraphina shot back.
"So you'd rather suffer like this?" Magnolia's tone was sharp.
"It's none of your business!" Seraphina retorted.
"If you want to harm yourself, that's your call, but I won't let you harm the baby!"
"What harm have I done to the baby?" Seraphina was on the verge of breaking down. "I'm the one suffering. I don't even know what I did in a past life to deserve this torment from you all!"
"In your past life, you must have been a terrible person, so now you have to pay for it. Accept your fate!" Magnolia concluded.
Seraphina was about to explode with anger!
Magnolia couldn't go a day without arguing with her!
Seraphina angrily threw down her utensils.
She wasn't eating anymore.
She didn't have an appetite anyway.
Then she got up and left.
Dashiell was about to speak, but Magnolia stopped him.
Dashiell pressed his lips together and watched Seraphina storm into the room and slam the door shut.
Magnolia said bluntly, "If you give in now, she won't go to the hospital with you tomorrow! No matter what, you have to take her to the hospital tomorrow. It's not just about the baby; if she keeps vomiting like this, it'll take a toll on her. Pregnancy is already hard on a woman's body, and if she doesn't take care of herself now, there will be long-term consequences."
Dashiell nodded.
"And don't think Seraphina is really mad at me and not eating. She just can't eat. Don't force her. If she can't eat, making her eat will only make her feel worse," Magnolia said knowingly.
Lucy couldn't help but say, "Ms. Rainier, you're so good to her, but she just doesn't appreciate it."
"She's a bit slow, I'm used to it," Magnolia said indifferently.
Dashiell couldn't help but chuckle.
Thankfully, Magnolia was so understanding; otherwise, who knew how bad the relationship between them would be!
After dinner, Dashiell still brought a bowl of oatmeal and Seraphina's favorite yogurt into the room.
Seraphina was sitting on the bed playing a game, trying to distract herself.
Seeing Dashiell come in, she glanced at him but didn't respond.
Dashiell put down the oatmeal and yogurt. "Have these first."
"No," Seraphina refused outright.
She had no appetite and didn't want to eat.
She had thrown down her utensils earlier because she really couldn't taste anything.
Magnolia wasn't the reason that she skipped the dinner.
She wouldn't starve herself for Magnolia.
