Chapter 44 The Grand Wedding 2 Satire Isadora

The Lockhart family villa became very busy because of the wedding.

There were many guests.

Cecilia and Seraphina had dressed up.

Seraphina kept praising Cecilia because she looked so good, but suddenly she criticized, "Did you choose this wedding dress or did Dominic choose it? Such a bad taste!"

Cecilia didn't answer.

"Dominic did it, I am sure!" Seraphina actually guessed, "Your taste isn't that bad, but you care so much about Dominic's feelings. Whatever he says, you always listen."

In her previous life, she did consider everything for him, but this time, it was different.

"I'm a bit confused," Seraphina looked at Cecilia.

She thought, 'Does Cecilia like Dominic or not? If she doesn't like him, why get married? If she does like him, why does she interact so frequently with Alaric? What is going on?’

Seraphina just stared at Cecilia blankly, unable to understand. Cecilia didn't explain to Seraphina. Anyway, she would know soon.

At this moment, the door was opened.

Isadora was wearing a white dress, obviously a carefully selected white evening gown, which was even a bit too luxurious.

From the clothing alone, Isadora wanted to highlight her beauty compared to Cecilia, especially since Cecilia's wedding dress was average, while Isadora's outfit was adorned with sparkling diamonds, shining brightly in the light.

Seraphina was unhappy to see Isadora.

This ambitious woman's intentions were too obvious. She was there to steal attention.

"Cecilia, you look beautiful today." Juliana followed Isadora into the room, looking sincere.

Cecilia smiled faintly. "Thank you."

"The wedding dress looks great," Isadora praised intentionally.

Cecilia looked at Isadora. "Your dress looks great too."

"Really?" Isadora's face lit up, and she quickly said, "A friend specially pick it for me. It's a new design by the chief designer of Harmony Threads this year. It’s not even on the market yet. I waited for half a month for this outfit. I got it just for attending your wedding."

"Boyfriend?" Seraphina interrupted.

"No." Isadora blushed.

"That's good. If he were your boyfriend, it would be terrible to have such a lover," Seraphina pretended to kindly remind her.

"Why?" Isadora's expression changed instantly.

"Today is Cecilia's wedding. Are you dressed so grandly to be the center of attention today?" Seraphina didn't give Isadora a chance to retort. "If it's just a friend, it's fine, he is not that important anyway. If it's really a boyfriend, you should think carefully. Such a man who lacks manners, is he worth liking?”

Isadora's face turned red while listening to Seraphina's words.

It seemed like Seraphina was evaluating her friend, but in fact, she was mocking her lack of manners.

Isadora glanced at Cecilia.

She knew that Cecilia would definitely forgive her for the sake of harmony, especially at her own wedding, where she would consider the bigger picture and wouldn't want any potential conflicts.

Cecilia, of course, got Isadora's hint.

She smiled slightly. "Dear Isadora, I think Seraphina is right."

Isadora's face darkened instantly.

Seraphina was no longer surprised by Cecilia's actions.

How you dress today won't affect me. After all, from childhood to now, even if you wear better clothes and use better things than me, I have never heard anyone say you are prettier than me." Cecilia's kind words made Isadora feel very embarrassed.”

Throughout childhood and into the present, Cecilia's possessions were rather ordinary due to Genevieve's influence, as their family was very modest. Isadora, however, always seemed to want everyone to know how wealthy her family was, wearing only top international brands. Yet, whenever Cecilia and Isadora were mentioned, everyone would still say Cecilia was the most beautiful woman in Serenovia City.

Cecilia couldn't read Isadora's emotions and continued, "The evening gown you're wearing doesn't look like a new design from Harmony Threads; it looks more like a style imitating Harmony Threads, a popular second-tier brand called VerveVogue which was popular among white-collar class."

"How could a low-class brand like VerveVogue produce such a high-quality product?" Isadora retorted.

"After all, the chief designer of Harmony Threads hasn't released any new products this season," Cecilia stated bluntly.

"How do you know?" Isadora exclaimed.

Cecilia smirked, "Believe it or not, it's up to you."

Isadora surely didn't believe it.

She couldn't believe that Dominic would buy her a second-tier, low-class brand.

He clearly said he would make her look more beautiful than Cecilia today.

Even if he couldn't marry her, he would make sure she stood out at the wedding, not letting her down.

So last night, Dominic had someone deliver the dress to her specially.

When she opened it and saw how beautiful it was, she was ecstatic.

She didn't expect to be mocked by Cecilia and Seraphina like this.

Fortunately, at that moment, other relatives and friends entered the room to congratulate Cecilia, easing the tension, and Isadora left, suppressing her anger.

Juliana followed Isadora obediently.

Once away from the crowd, Isadora couldn't contain her anger. “Cecilia’s own wedding dress is so ugly, yet she accuses mine of being a knockoff. Disgusting.”

"She just can't stand you being better than her; she's jealous of you," Juliana quickly complimented, "Dominic indeed loves you more. Everyone can tell from the dress he picked that he doesn’t care much about Cecilia!"

"Of course," Isadora was extremely pleased. Thinking about the stark contrast between her dress and Cecilia's wedding gown makes her extremely happy.

That night, they were also very intimate.

Dominic even said he had noticed her affection toward him, but due to his relationship with Cecilia, he couldn't show it.

He said his marriage to Cecilia was just a political alliance; he didn't actually like Cecilia. She was too boring.

After he used Cecilia to achieve his goals, he would marry Isadora.

Isadora blushed at the thought of Dominic's affection.

Juliana silently watched Isadora's intoxicated expression. Juliana thought it was ridiculous that Isadora would believe Dominic's sweet talk.

Even if Dominic didn't love Cecilia, he couldn't possibly fall for the fool Isadora.

She was waiting for Isadora to fall into hell, and when Isadora died, she, as Vincent's only daughter, would have the capital to compete with Cecilia.

The position of Mrs. Lockhart could only belong to her.

Suddenly, someone in the hall shouted, "The groom is here!"

Cecilia's eyes in the bedroom turned cold. After her rebirth, she had been waiting for this day! Now, it had finally arrived.

When Seraphina heard the noise outside, she quickly went to close the door, planning to play a joke on Dominic.

"Seraphina," Cecilia called out.

"What's wrong?" Seraphina was a bit excited.

She actually liked to joke around to liven up the atmosphere.

"No need to close the door," Cecilia said directly.

There was no need to put in any effort for Dominic.

This wedding was just a play!
