Chapter 309 You're Not Losing Out

In the end, Seraphina still crawled out from under the covers.

At the moment she thought she was going to suffocate, her survival instinct kicked in, and she threw off the blanket.

She thought dying for someone like Dashiell was really not worth it!

Seraphina thought for a moment, then got up from the bed, changed her clothes, and opened the door.

In the living room outside the door, Dashiell was already up and was sitting at the dining table having breakfast.

Lucy was also sitting next to Dashiell, eating breakfast.

Seeing Seraphina suddenly walk out of the room, she quickly stood up, "Ms. Everhart, are you hungry? Would you like to join us for breakfast..."

"Where's my bag?" Seraphina asked.

She just wanted to find her phone.

Lucy quickly jogged over to the sofa, "Here's your bag. Cecilia brought it back for you last night and left it on the sofa."

Seraphina didn't show any gratitude and snatched it from Lucy's hand.

Then she returned to the room and slammed the door shut.

Lucy looked at Seraphina's back, then turned to Dashiell, "Ms. Everhart seems to be in good spirits. She shouldn't have any suicidal thoughts, right?"

Dashiell seemed to be smiling a little.

He thought, 'It seems I have been overthinking.'

Inside the room, Seraphina found her phone in her bag.

The phone was off.

She quickly plugged it in to charge and turned it on.

Upon turning it on, she found that the phone still had 40% battery.

She thought, 'How did it turn off automatically?

'Did I turn it off myself last night?'

Seraphina didn't think much about it and dialed the phone number she knew by heart. Cecilia was sitting in her office, handling work matters.

She looked at Seraphina's call, and she thought, 'It is rare for her to get up so early.'

She had planned to call Seraphina later but didn't expect her to call first.

She answered, "Seraphina."

"Cecilia, I had sex with Dashiell last night!" Seraphina broke down the moment she heard Cecilia's voice.

"I'm really suffering!" Seraphina wailed.

Cecilia pursed her lips.

She was trying to control herself from laughing.

She knew Seraphina was in pain; anyone in her situation would be devastated.

But Seraphina's reaction just made her inexplicably want to laugh.

Based on her understanding of Seraphina, as long as she could cry like this, there was no need to worry too much.

She just held the phone, listening to Seraphina cry for a long time.

When she finally stopped, exhausted, she complained, "I'm at my breaking point, and you haven’t said a single comforting word to me?"

"I didn't want to interrupt your performance."

"Cecilia, are we really best friends?"

"If we weren't, why would I endure your ear-piercing cries?"

"Cecilia!" Seraphina was furious.

Cecilia chuckled and softly coaxed, "Alright, it's already happened. Just accept it."

"I will never accept Dashiell! Even if we have sex a hundred times, I won't accept him!"

"So you want to have sex with Dashiell a hundred times?"

"You've really driven me crazy—what good are you, anyway?" Seraphina was on the verge of falling apart.

"I thought Dashiell was quite handsome, you must have had a good time last night, right?" Cecilia asked.

"Can we really talk about this in terms of looks? Yes, Dashiell's skin is as good as a woman's, smooth and delicate, but so what? He's still a man. In sexual aspect, I'm the biggest victim!" Seraphina retorted.

"Well, you can't be so sure about that. From what I see, Dashiell doesn't seem like the type to be that casual. Given he's 22 and probably hasn't had any relationships with women before, being forced into one last night must have been quite a blow for him."

"So what if he's not casual? Am I?!" Seraphina was seething. "I've never been with a man either, and I—"

Her anger was building. She felt like if she got any more worked up, she might leap out of the window.

"So isn't that just perfect?! You're both novices—no one owes anyone anything."

"But..." Seraphina found Cecilia's argument infuriating, though she struggled to find the right words to counter it.Her lack of academic success throughout her life meant she couldn't compare to top students like Cecilia and Dashiell.

"By the way, Cecilia, you brought me back last night, didn't you?" Seraphina suddenly turned serious.

It was time to settle the score.

Cecilia tightened her grip on her phone.

"I remember being with Sebastian last night. Why did you break us up?!" Seraphina's frustration was evident.

She thought if she had stayed with Sebastian, she wouldn't be in such a mess today.

"Here's the deal, Seraphina," Cecilia said, her tone serious. "I got a call from Cassius saying you left the nightclub with Sebastian. According to him, you two were heading to a hotel room, so I came to check on you. I really didn't want you doing anything inappropriate, especially since you're married to Dashiell now."

"But I..."

"Let me finish," Cecilia cut her off.

Seraphina gritted her teeth and fell silent.

"When I arrived at the hotel, I only found you alone in the room. I thought Cassius might have been lying until I realized you were drugged. I'd heard that being drugged can lead to severe and uncontrollable side effects if not addressed. I was worried about your health, so I brought you back with me. You were all over me last night. If I hadn't brought you back, you might have ended up dead in that hotel."

"And Sebastian? He was with me last night. He took me to the hotel. How could he not be there?!" Seraphina's voice was tinged with desperation and anger.

"Seraphina, do you really think I'd lie to you?" Cecilia's tone suddenly turned serious.

Seraphina pressed her lips together.

She knew Cecilia wasn't the type to deceive her.

But she couldn't understand why Sebastian had dropped her off at the hotel and then disappeared.

She thought, 'Why, knowing I was drugged, would he leave me alone?

'Is he really that indifferent?'

"I thought it was strange too, why Sebastian didn't stay with you," Cecilia continued. "I even had Cassius look into it, but unfortunately, we couldn't find any trace of him. You might want to ask Sebastian yourself why he didn't stick around."

Seraphina's voice was tinged with sadness. "I don't have the face to face Sebastian now."

"I think the one who should be ashamed is Sebastian, not you," Cecilia replied firmly.

"Cecilia, you really have a strong bias against Sebastian. You weren't like this before."

It was just that she hadn't known Sebastian to be this kind of person.
