Chapter 426 Have a Lot of Babies

Cecilia strolled up to the company door.

Alaric wasn't into flowers or any of that mushy stuff.

He leaned against the car, looking drop-dead gorgeous, catching eyes from everyone clocking out.

Just the usual magnetism of hotness.

Cecilia wondered how long before she'd get bored of staring at Alaric.

How long before her heart stopped doing flips because of him.

"Hey, babe," Alaric called out.

She noticed he wasn't far off and paused.

Cecilia bit her lip, feeling a bit shy about being called "babe" in public.

Her cheeks flushed as she walked over.

Alaric took a few steps forward too and grabbed her hand.

Fingers laced together, Alaric opened the car door for her, and off they went.

Juliana saw the whole thing again, a scene that could make anyone green with envy.

Her face soured, and she turned away.

In the speeding car, Cecilia glanced out the window and asked, "Aren't we heading home?"

"Going to the Whitaker Mansion," Alaric replied.

Cecilia frowned.

"I don't visit often, and my folks miss me. They insisted I bring you over for dinner, said they haven't seen you in ages," Alaric explained.

Cecilia wasn't a fan of the Whitaker Mansion, not because of Alaric's parents, but because of his sister, Emily.

Being around her was just draining.

"Don't sweat it, I already talked to Emily," Alaric said casually.

Cecilia stared at him.

Alaric must have some kind of superpower!

How else could he know what she was thinking?

"When you know someone well, you can read their mind," Alaric chuckled.

In the end, Cecilia didn't argue and went to the Whitaker Mansion with him.

The Whitaker family welcomed them warmly.

Their enthusiasm made Cecilia feel a bit awkward.

She had to admit, after marrying Alaric and since he left Harborvale, she hadn't once visited his parents on her own, which was kinda rude.

"Let's dig in," Arabella called out.

Everyone gathered around a massive table loaded with food.

Arabella kept piling food onto Cecilia's plate, making her feel super touched.

Thinking back to the Kingsley Mansion, life wasn't as good there.

"Thanks, Mom. Don't just focus on me; you should eat too," Cecilia quickly served some food to Arabella.

Their bond was something to envy.

"Mom, you're making me jealous," Grace joked.

"Jealous of what? Haven't I been good to you? Cecilia doesn't come home often, so of course, I have to spoil her," Arabella said matter-of-factly.

Grace wrinkled her nose, saying, "Mom, you're so biased."

"Grace, you should eat more too," Cecilia quickly served some food to Grace, knowing it was a joke but still showing respect.

"Thanks, Cecilia," Grace said with a happy smile.

"Grace, you've been married to Christopher for a while now. Why no kids yet?" Arabella suddenly nagged.

Grace immediately went quiet.

"Mom," Christopher quickly jumped in. "Didn't we say we'd have one next year? We're still young."

"I'm not young anymore," Arabella said, a bit grumpy.

"Mom, don't say that, you're still young," Grace said, trying to flatter her.

"Anyway, I don't care, whether it's Grace or Cecilia, you both better have a baby this year, or I'll be mad," Arabella declared.

She even nudged Caspian next to her.

Caspian quickly chimed in, "Yeah, we gotta welcome a new life into the family this year."

"I'll do my best," Alaric was the first to respond.

Cecilia bit her lip.

It was kinda awkward right then.

"Really?" Arabella was super excited.

"We're working on it. We'll let you know when there's good news," Alaric said.

"Good," Arabella beamed. She turned to Christopher and said, "So you need to start a family too."

Christopher sighed, "Alright, I'll plan with Grace when we get back."

The family happily continued their dinner.

A big table full of people, it was really lively.

At that moment, Cecilia even thought, if she were to have kids, she'd have a bunch.

The feeling of a big family was really wonderful.

She suddenly felt a bit envious of Alaric.

After dinner, Alaric didn't waste any time and wanted to leave, using the excuse of going back to try for a baby.

Arabella was thrilled to let them go.

Back in the car, Cecilia couldn't help but sigh, "Your family is really lively. And unlike other families, many have internal drama and brothers fighting over inheritance, like my dad and Vincent. That's why my parents didn't dare to have a second child."

Alaric listened to Cecilia's words without much response.

He pulled Cecilia into his arms and softly said, "We'll have a lot of kids in the future."

"Okay," Cecilia agreed.

She suddenly felt that having more people in a family was quite nice.

In the car, Cecilia quietly leaned into Alaric's embrace and didn't want to leave.

Because, the day after tomorrow, Alaric would be leaving.

She felt that every second was precious.

They hugged each other.

Alaric's phone suddenly rang.

He glanced at the ID and didn't answer for a while.

"Why aren't you answering?" Cecilia asked.

"Cassius," Alaric replied.

It was clear he didn't want to deal with him.

Cecilia smiled and said, "Just answer the phone. Cassius is so good to you; you can't be so ungrateful."

Alaric pressed the answer button and put it on speaker.

He didn't want to miss out on his time with Cecilia.

"Alaric, I wanna go out for a drink," Cassius's distressed voice came through as soon as the call connected.

"Aren't you afraid your dad will kill you?" Alaric asked.

"I don't care. I'm suffocating. How did I end up getting married tomorrow? No matter what, I have to go out for a drink tonight. I need to say goodbye to my last night of being single. I'm gonna confront my dad!" Cassius stated firmly.

Alaric was speechless.

"Don't be late. I'll wait for you at the usual spot." Cassius hung up the phone directly.

Alaric looked at Cecilia, who returned his gaze.

They were silent for a while before speaking in unison.

"Forget about him."

"Let's go."

The first was Alaric.

The second was Cecilia.

They both smiled at each other.

Cecilia said, "It's Cassius's last night of being single. Go keep him company. I'll go with you. I wanna see what this 'usual spot' you always talk about looks like."

"Haven't you been there?" Alaric laughed.

Cecilia frowned.

"The last time you came to find me and threw yourself at me," Alaric reminded.

Cecilia remembered.

Her face changed in the next second.

She didn't throw herself at him.

It was unintentional.

"Don't be embarrassed." Alaric's deep, magnetic voice whispered in her ear, "I liked it."

Cecilia fell silent.
