Chapter 485 Alaric and Cecilia Have a Minor Dispute
"Back so soon?" Arabella looked kinda surprised.
"Been six months," Alaric reminded her.
"How time flies?" Arabella sighed, then got all excited. "You're not heading back to Harborvale, right?"
"Probably not," Alaric said.
"Good. I was worried you'd be too far to take care of yourself. Now that you're back, you can start planning for a baby." Arabella was beaming.
Cecilia just rolled her eyes.
The Whitaker Family was seriously baby-crazy.
When Emily heard about the baby plans, her face kinda darkened.
But she was good at hiding it; most folks wouldn't catch on.
After dinner, Arabella left, but not before giving Emily a ton of reminders. Cecilia figured that no matter how old Emily got, Arabella would always spoil her, making her bratty. In her mind, someone would always bail her out!
Once Arabella was gone, Cecilia finally let out a sigh of relief.
She turned to Emily. "Let me show you to your room."
"Thanks, Cecilia," Emily said sweetly. "Sorry for the hassle."
Cecilia just smiled.
If she was truly sorry, she wouldn't have come.
Cecilia led Emily upstairs, with Alaric watching them go.
He knew Cecilia was super pissed today.
She was already mad at him, and now she had to fake it with Emily.
As for Emily, he couldn't just turn her away.
He had a soft spot for the Whitaker Family.
Cecilia showed Emily to a guest room. "You'll be staying here for the next few days. It's getting colder, so if you wanna adjust the heating, use this button to turn it up and this one to turn it down."
Emily just stared at Cecilia, not saying a word.
Cecilia didn't expect a response and led her to the bathroom. "There are clean toiletries here. Try them out, and if you don't like them, tell George what you usually use, and he'll get it for you."
Emily stayed silent.
Cecilia went on, "Press this button to fill the tub. It's got automatic temperature control. If you want a massage, use this remote. It's got labels for different modes. If you're not into baths, there's a shower here."
"This is the toilet, fully automatic, just like at your place. By the way, when's your period? There are no pads here, so if you need some, I'll get them for you."
"No need, my period just ended," Emily said bluntly.
After showing her everything, Cecilia said, "If you have any questions, call me or George."
"Cecilia, don't you hate me?" Emily couldn't help but ask.
"Yeah, I do," Cecilia replied flatly.
"Then why are you being so nice when no one else is around?" Emily stared at her.
She thought Cecilia was way too calm, considering she came here to stir up trouble.
She knew she was a pain. When Rebecca came to her house, Rebecca straight-up avoided her, not wanting to be alone with her. But Cecilia? She handled her like it was nothing.
No wonder Alaric was so hooked on Cecilia.
"Even if no one's around, you can still start drama, right?" Cecilia sneered. "Once you scream, the whole house will know."
Emily shot her a cold glare.
"Emily, if you want peace, let's just get along and not cause unnecessary trouble. I'm not scared of you; I just don't want to waste my time."
Emily was fuming at Cecilia's words.
That tone was pure disdain.
"It's late; I'm going to bed," Cecilia said and walked out.
With someone like Emily, talking more was just a waste of breath.
She was ready for whatever drama Emily wanted to stir up next.
Cecilia left the guest room and headed straight to her own room.
She opened the door.
To her surprise, Alaric was already there.
She thought he'd stay downstairs longer.
Their eyes met.
Before Alaric could say anything, Cecilia turned and walked straight into the bathroom.
Alaric sighed softly.
When Cecilia came out of the shower, Alaric was waiting at the bathroom door, which startled her.
"What are you doing here?" Cecilia was speechless.
He really scared her.
"You're finally willing to talk to me." Alaric smiled.
Cecilia pursed her lips and walked past him.
"Honey." Alaric pulled her into his arms.
She still had the sweet scent of body wash and some water droplets on her skin, making her very tempting.
Alaric initially just wanted to please her, but now he wanted more.
He buried his head in her neck.
Just as Cecilia was about to push him away, there was a knock on the door. "Alaric, Cecilia."
It was Emily, her voice soft.
Cecilia frowned.
Alaric was clearly annoyed too.
In the end, Alaric let her go.
Cecilia adjusted her nightgown, took a deep breath, and opened the door. "What's up?"
Emily immediately noticed the marks on Cecilia's neck.
She suppressed her emotions and looked away, saying, "I just realized I forgot to pack my underwear. I feel uncomfortable not changing after a shower. Do you have any new ones?"
"Wait a sec," Cecilia went to the closet and got two unopened pairs of underwear for Emily.
"Thanks, Cecilia." Then she left obediently.
After the door closed, Cecilia turned to see Alaric, who was clearly unhappy.
Alaric didn't say anything.
After all, he didn't know what to say about Emily.
Cecilia got into bed.
She sat at the head of the bed, looking at her phone, habitually checking some news.
Alaric couldn't hold back any longer and got into bed, moving closer to her.
Cecilia kicked him in the face.
His handsome face was blocked by her foot.
"Go take a shower!" Cecilia didn't even look at him, her voice cold.
