Chapter 716 Chaotic Situation (21) Terms of Exchange
Cecilia still experiences some emotional fluctuations.
She had made a lot of preparations since Alaric sent her to Gideon.
In fact, if she were really to die, it would just be dying once more.
She had avenged herself, repaid all the hatred from her past life, and now, even if she died, it wouldn't be with regret.
She just didn't expect to be pregnant.
There was another life inside her.
She felt really miserable; she couldn't protect her child.
She couldn't let her child see this world, couldn't let her child feel the beauty of the world.
Cecilia's throat moved slightly.
All her emotions were still concealed.
She didn't expect to have another chance at resurrection.
She just hoped her child wouldn't hate her too much.
In the quiet villa.
Gideon sat on the sofa, legs crossed, in a victor's posture, coldly watching the person he controlled.
"Cecilia, who do you think I should kill first?" Gideon suddenly asked.
Cecilia looked coldly at Gideon.
"Kill you, or kill them!"
"Does it matter who I want to kill?" Cecilia asked.
"Maybe it does."
"Then kill me first," Cecilia said word by word.
Gideon's eyes turned cold.
"Kill me first, so I don't have to see such bloody things."
"Aren't you afraid of death?" Gideon asked her coldly.
"I'm afraid, but will being afraid keep me from dying? Rather than suffering so much terror and torture, it's better to kill me sooner." Cecilia said bluntly, "If I'm dead, I won't feel pain, right?"
"But I won't kill you. I want you to see the consequences of betraying me!" Gideon's eyes tightened.
With a glance, he clearly signaled someone to kill Augustus first.
"Gideon!" Cecilia shouted at him.
Cecilia's unrestrained emotions made Gideon's lips curl slightly.
He just wanted to see Cecilia driven to the brink of collapse by him.
He was tired of Cecilia's unchanging emotions, tired of her lack of feelings for him.
Hate was also an emotion.
"What good will it do you to kill us? Alaric deceived you; will killing us stop him from deceiving you?" Cecilia shouted.
Gideon thought about Cecilia's words, "You make a good point. So, Alaric should be taught a lesson."
Cecilia didn't know what Gideon was going to do.
At that moment, she saw Gideon pick up the phone and dial.
He was obviously calling Alaric.
The call connected.
Gideon put it on speaker and said, "Alaric, does it feel good to deceive me?"
Alaric chose to remain silent.
"But I'm curious, how did you know I was here? How did you know I brought Cecilia here and sent someone to rescue her?" Gideon was puzzled.
This place was tightly sealed; no one could leave.
How did Alaric know?
Or had he been deceived by Alaric all along, with Alaric's spies already planted around him?
Thinking of this, Gideon's face grew even more furious.
"Mr. Hotchner, you're so smart, you should be able to figure out how I knew." Alaric's calm voice showed no sign of panic.
Hearing Alaric's familiar voice, Cecilia's eyes reddened, but she held back, showing no emotion.
"Who did you bribe?" Gideon said angrily.
"Do you think I would tell you?"
"So, you don't care about Cecilia's death?"
"Mr. Hotchner, don't forget, Mrs. Hotchner isn't with you," Alaric said word by word.
Gideon's face changed instantly, "Alaric!"
"Exchanging Cecilia for Mrs. Hotchner, you won't lose out." Alaric negotiated.
Gideon's face turned extremely ugly.
His hand holding the phone was trembling.
He said, "How did you not get killed by Tomas?"
"He can't kill me, and neither can you!" Alaric mocked coldly.
"Who are you really?" Gideon had always doubted Alaric's identity because Alaric was so powerful that it was frightening.
"Who I am doesn't matter. What matters is, you send Cecilia out now, and I'll return Mrs. Hotchner to you."
Gideon sneered, "Do you think I'll agree?"
"So, you're abandoning Mrs. Hotchner, too."
"My mom won't hate me." Gideon said coldly, "She knows there will be sacrifices, either her or me. She'd rather die herself."
"In that case." Alaric's tone turned cold. "Then prepare to collect Mrs. Hotchner's body!"
"You don't care about Cecilia's life or death?"
"I can't protect her life," Alaric said bluntly.
These words pierced Cecilia's heart like an arrow.
She lowered her eyes.
She wanted not to care, to hide her emotions with a smile, but her tears kept falling.
Gideon clearly noticed.
He smiled evilly, "Alaric, what is your real goal?"
"You'll find out." Alaric remained cold.
"How about this?" Gideon began to compromise, "You come to the island, and we'll talk. Maybe I'll let Cecilia go."
"We're not fools. If I go, my end will be death."
"Cecilia really isn't important." Gideon concluded, "Your previous actions were just to make me believe in your loyalty?"
"Mr. Hotchner. I know your hideout, and you have my spies there. You actually have no chance of surviving." Alaric seemed to lose patience, making things clear, "Release Cecilia now, and I promise not to kill you or Mrs. Hotchner."
"If you don't kill me, I'll still have nothing!"
"Being alive is better than being dead."
"Not necessarily." Gideon clearly refused, "Alaric, I'll give you half an hour to think. If you come to the island alone, I'll release Cecilia. Cecilia poses no threat to me; whether I kill her or not makes no difference. But if you really anger me, even if I die, I must kill you!"
Alaric chose to remain silent.
"Use your life to exchange for Cecilia's and your child's life. Think about it. After half an hour, I'll send Cecilia's body to you, I promise!"
Gideon hung up the phone abruptly.
After hanging up, he looked up at Cecilia.
Seeing that Cecilia's emotions were clearly under control.
This Cecilia, he really was a bit reluctant to kill.
He said, "Cecilia, do you think Alaric will come for you?"
Cecilia said calmly, "Didn't he just make it clear?"
Gideon frowned.
"He can't protect my life." Cecilia said calmly.
Right.
Alaric had his mission.
He was helpless in many things.
She really shouldn't hate Alaric.
After all, it was she who had approached Alaric.
In her past life, Alaric had stayed away from her.
In this life, she had voluntarily married Alaric.
The final result was like this, and she couldn't blame anyone.
It could only be said that she hadn't really met someone who loved her.
