Chapter 364 Conspiracy (6) Cecilia Set a Trap

Rose thought she misheard.

"Did you just say to tell Andrew?" she asked, just to be sure.

"Yep." Cecilia nodded, handing over the proposal. "Keep this with you. If Andrew asks, just tell him you can't spill the final bid yet, so you can't hand it over."

Rose was even more puzzled.

If Andrew was supposed to be in the loop, why keep the final bid a secret?

Actually, Cecilia had tweaked the final bid on the proposal. Right now, only the board members, Cecilia, and Rose knew about it.

So, was Cecilia still suspicious of Andrew?

If she was, why drag him into this at all?

Was it all just for show?

"When you turn Andrew down, make sure he knows you have the proposal," Cecilia added.

Rose's head was spinning.

Was this some kind of spy movie?

Or one of those never-ending plot twists.

"Just do as I say," Cecilia didn't bother explaining more. "You can go now."

"Got it."

After Rose left, Cecilia smirked.

This time, she wanted to make sure the Kingsley family not only didn't make a dime but also lost big time!

In the PR Office.

Rose knocked on the door.

"Come in."

Rose walked in and respectfully said to Andrew, "Mr. Lockhart, Ms. Lockhart has just independently reported the Innovation Arc construction project and got the green light from the group. She asked me to let you know that you'll be joining her at the planning department for the bid next Monday."

"Me?" Andrew looked a bit taken aback.

"Yeah, she specifically mentioned you," Rose confirmed.

"Are you sure?"

"Yep, she wants you to go," Rose repeated.

Andrew reluctantly bought it.

Still a bit skeptical, he agreed, "Alright, just let me know the exact time on Monday, and I'll be there."

"Okay. If there's nothing else, I'll head back."

"Hold up," Andrew stopped her. "Is the proposal still going in as per our original plan?"

"No," Rose replied. "The proposal's been tweaked a bit."

"Where exactly?"

"In the bid amount. Ms. Lockhart made some changes to make it more competitive," Rose answered honestly.

"How much did it change?" Andrew asked quickly.

"Sorry, Mr. Lockhart, Ms. Lockhart said it's a commercial secret, so I can't tell you," Rose replied swiftly. "I've locked the proposal in my safe and won't take it out before Monday."

Andrew pressed his lips together.

He knew he wouldn't get an answer.

Cecilia was definitely keeping her guard up against him.

She said she wanted him in on the bid, but it was probably just for show.

Cecilia acted all generous in front of the execs. She had to keep her word to avoid looking bad.

He had to admit, Cecilia was way smarter than he thought.

"Alright, you can go." Andrew waved Rose away.

As soon as Rose left, he quickly called Dominic, "The proposal's changed. The bid amount I gave you might be different."

Dominic was currently reviewing Cecilia's bid proposal and was genuinely shocked by her planning for the Innovation Arc.

The design concept was so cutting-edge, it was like a decade ahead of what the Yakurosean Empire was doing!

How the heck did Cecilia come up with such a futuristic city renovation plan that was packed with high-tech stuff but still totally doable?

When did she get so badass that he felt like he couldn't keep up?

Right then, he was actually glad he decided to roll with Cecilia's proposal instead of arrogantly making his own. Otherwise, the Kingsley Group would've been toast!

Hearing Andrew's words, Dominic asked coldly, "How much did it change?"

Dominic knew.

Cecilia wouldn't make it that easy.

She wouldn't just hand over the proposal.

The moment Andrew got the proposal without a hitch, he was already suspicious.

But now, with Andrew's call, those doubts started to fade.

"I don't know. Only the board members, Cecilia, and her secretary know the final bid," Andrew replied.

"Can you find a way to get it?"

"My dad's in jail now, and I'm getting more distant from the board members. If I suddenly ask about the bid, it'll look fishy and might tip them off."

"Can you bribe Cecilia's secretary?" Dominic asked straight up.

"Not a chance. This secretary is super loyal to Cecilia and can't be bought."

"Then it looks like stealing is the only option."

Andrew was shocked, "Steal? How?"

"Where's the final proposal?" Dominic asked.

"It should be with Cecilia's secretary. Someone Cecilia trusts that much can't be bribed."

"Then steal it from her," Dominic said bluntly. "Where do you usually keep your proposals?"

"They're not on computers. For super confidential stuff, the USB drive with the proposal is kept in a safe, just in case."

"Does Cecilia's secretary have the key?" Dominic asked.

"Yeah."

"Does she carry the key with her?" Dominic inquired.

"Yep."

"Alright, I'll figure out how to get Cecilia's secretary's key. You get ready to grab the proposal."

"I'm scared..."

"What are you scared of?" Dominic snapped. "Just do what I say, and nothing will go wrong."

Andrew still hesitated.

"Andrew, if Cecilia nails this project again, do you think you'll still have a shot at inheriting Vincent's position? I can guarantee that if Cecilia wins the planning department's proposal, the top spot at Lockhart Group will be hers. But if she fails this time, your chances will skyrocket," Dominic said.

Andrew gritted his teeth, "Alright."

"Smart move," Dominic praised, then added, "Now go to Cecilia's secretary's office, find her safe, and check if the surveillance from your office to hers will catch you. Find a way to disable the cameras, or you'll be busted when they review the footage."

"I'll figure it out."

"Do it tonight."

"That soon?" Andrew was startled.

"To avoid complications," Dominic was firm.

Andrew gritted his teeth. "Alright."

"Follow my instructions and call me if you hit any snags."

Hanging up the phone, Dominic smiled wickedly.

He had underestimated Cecilia before, which made him let his guard down.

Now that Dominic knew what Cecilia was capable of, he was gonna make sure she lost big time!
