Chapter 216 My Family's Discipline is Very Strict

When Juliana got back to her office, Rose, Cecilia's secretary, was waiting at the door. "Ms. Lockhart, Mrs. Whitaker wants to see you," she said respectfully.

Juliana's eyes narrowed. She figured Cecilia was up to no good again.

She walked into Cecilia's office.

"Sit," Cecilia said, still typing away. "Have you thought about whose side you're really on?"

Juliana watched Cecilia's fingers fly over the keyboard, impressed by her speed.

Cecilia finished typing, saved her work, and told Rose, "Help me project this during the meeting."

"Yes," Rose said, taking the laptop.

Cecilia turned to Juliana, raising an eyebrow. "Have you thought about it?"

Juliana replied, "I don't know what you're talking about. I just want to fit in with the Lockhart family and do my part."

Cecilia smiled, a creepy smile that made Juliana uneasy. "If that's what you think, I won't say more."

Juliana always found Cecilia's thoughts hard to read. She couldn't figure out what Cecilia was planning.

"Just a final reminder," Cecilia said, "if you want to do well in the Lockhart Group and gain recognition, you need to follow my lead. Otherwise, you know who will be left out." She hinted, "You can go back to work now."

Juliana left, mulling over Cecilia's words. She knew Cecilia was warning her that Vincent and Andrew would abandon her.

Thinking about the blame she got from them today, she felt a deep sense of unfairness. Vincent and Andrew wanted to use her but offered no benefits.

Juliana sneered. If she could return to the Lockhart family on her own, she wouldn't be easily controlled.

Half an hour later, everyone in the sales department was in the office. Cecilia sat in the middle, looking very authoritative.

"Before we start the meeting, I have some good news," she announced.

Everyone looked eager.

"I just got word from the higher-ups. Because of the successful reopening of the Tower of Light, the company has allocated $200,000 for rewards. I'll withdraw from the distribution. Rose will handle the bonuses based on everyone's contributions today."

The room erupted in applause. Everyone was thrilled.

Randy couldn't help but say, "In my five years in sales, this is the first time we've received such a significant cash reward and recognition from the higher-ups. Usually, when a project fails, all the departments blame us. Finally, we can hold our heads high!"

"Exactly," Diana quickly agreed.

The atmosphere was great. Juliana just sat on the side, watching everyone praise Cecilia. When did Cecilia become so impressive? She couldn't underestimate her anymore. It was like Cecilia had changed overnight.

"That's all for the good news. Now let's move on to the next work arrangements. Only by continuing to do our work well can we expect more rewards next time."

"Yes," everyone responded energetically.

Cecilia got straight to the point. She stood up and pointed to the projected PowerPoint. "The reopening of the Tower of Light set a record for recent openings in the Yakurosean Empire. But we can't get complacent. Ensuring long-term success is key. The district branch will handle operations, but we need solid marketing plans. Juliana, you'll handle the strategic marketing for this and our other districts. I need a preliminary plan by the end of the week."

"Yes," Juliana said, though not thrilled.

"The second task is our next big project: the Flower Beach development. The commercial district project is off to a good start, and we'll follow the plan for the next steps. This project could bring in at least $2 billion in net profit, so it's our top priority."

Everyone listened quietly. Cecilia was known for her efficient meetings and openness to good suggestions.

The meeting lasted about an hour, longer than usual for Cecilia. After assigning tasks, she left the room, with Rose following.

Rose admired Cecilia's efficiency more and more.

"Distribute the tasks to each center and department as I outlined. I want the duty allocation tables by the end of today," Cecilia instructed.

"Yes."

"And for the $200,000 bonus, prepare the distribution plan and show it to me. If it's good, distribute the bonuses by the end of the day."

"Yes." Rose noted everything down.

"I won't be here this afternoon; I have personal matters. Report back to me via message. If I don't respond, call me."

"Yes."

Cecilia organized her documents and left the company. She didn't waste a second, but it still took her the whole morning.

She wondered if Seraphina was awake and comfortable at Alaric's villa. She took Augustus' car and hurried back.

When she arrived, she saw Seraphina and Alaric sitting on opposite ends of the sofa, like a dividing line between them.

Seeing Cecilia, Seraphina lit up. "Cecilia, you're finally back. Staying here with your husband is so boring. How do you live with him? He's so dull!"

Cecilia thought her worries about Seraphina were unnecessary. Seraphina seemed lively and energetic.

"What's wrong?" Cecilia asked, walking over.

"He hasn't said a word to me all morning," Seraphina complained. "Did he suddenly become mute?"

"We have strict family rules. My wife doesn't allow me to talk to other women," Alaric said.

Seraphina fell silent.
