Chapter 636 Seraphina Cries to Cecilia

In the car, Cecilia and Alaric were chilling in the back seat.

Alaric was gripping Cecilia's hand like his life depended on it.

The car was crawling along at a snail's pace.

Augustus had been driving normally at first.

But Alaric kept making him stop.

Now they were barely moving down the street.

Cecilia figured at this rate, they'd get home after dark.

Did Alaric really need to be this extra?

Cecilia couldn't help but say, "I want to go back to work."

"No way," Alaric shot back without missing a beat.

Cecilia sighed, "Alaric, I'm just pregnant, not dying..."

Alaric clamped his hand over her mouth, shutting her up.

Cecilia shot him a death glare.

Did he have to be so controlling?

"Don't say stuff like that," Alaric said, all dramatic.

Cecilia was fuming.

Alaric let go and softened his tone, "The doctor said to be super careful in the early stages."

Cecilia rolled her eyes, "The doctor also said I can go about my day as long as I take it easy."

Alaric scoffed, "The doctor was talking nonsense."

Cecilia snapped back, "You're the one talking nonsense."

Alaric smirked, "Then why can't we have sex?"

Did that even matter?

Alaric added, "It's seriously cramping our style."

Cecilia was speechless.

Anyway, going back to work today was clearly off the table.

Cecilia sulked.

"Don't be mad; it's bad for the baby," Alaric tried to soothe her.

Cecilia ignored him.

"Come on, be good," Alaric said, trying to be sweet.

Even Augustus felt a shiver. Alaric's flip-flopping was creepy.

"I want to call Seraphina," Cecilia suddenly said, grabbing her phone.

But Alaric snatched it away.

Cecilia was livid.

Alaric said, "It has radiation; it's bad for the baby."

Cecilia shot back, "Are you stuck in the past? These devices are safe now."

Alaric insisted, "We have to be extra careful with the baby!"

"You're nuts!" Cecilia couldn't help but snap.

Alaric warned, "Watch your language; the baby can hear."

Cecilia wanted to strangle him.

How could he be this annoying?

It was just a pregnancy, did he have to be so over-the-top?

"Then you call Seraphina for me!" Cecilia said, trying to stay calm.

Alaric couldn't be with her 24/7.

He had to work too.

Alaric hesitated, "Why call her? She's careless; what if she stresses you out?"

Cecilia glared, "So, because I'm pregnant, I can't talk to my friends?"

Alaric felt a bit guilty under her stare.

He realized he might be overdoing it.

He sighed, "Fine, I'll call."

Cecilia finally relaxed a bit.

Alaric dialed Seraphina's number.

Seraphina answered, "Cecilia."

Her voice sounded weak.

Alaric put it on speaker.

He wouldn't let Cecilia hold the phone.

Cecilia glared at him and asked, "What's wrong? You sound off. Didn't you and Dashiell make up?"

"No," Seraphina replied with a bitter laugh. "When did I ever make up with Dashiell?"

Cecilia frowned.

Something was definitely up.

Last night, Dashiell had called her, saying things that made it sound like he and Seraphina were getting back together.Dashiell wasn't the type to say something unless he was sure. If he said it, it was practically a done deal.

So, last night, Dashiell was all about them getting back together, but now Seraphina was saying something else?

What the heck happened?

Cecilia got serious and asked, "What did you do to Dashiell last night?"

Seraphina shot back, "What did Dashiell say to you last night?"

"He said you two made up," Cecilia said straight up.

Seraphina felt a pang in her heart.

She hadn't expected Dashiell to spill the beans so quickly.

She had kept it to herself last night, savoring her secret joy.

Was Dashiell really so happy he had to tell everyone?

Seraphina couldn't take it anymore.

"There was a misunderstanding last night. The person I love is still Sebastian," she said.

"Seraphina, is love a game to you?" Cecilia snapped.

Alaric's face darkened at Cecilia's sudden anger.

How could a pregnant woman get so worked up?

He gave Cecilia a look.

Seeing this, Cecilia took a deep breath.

On the other end, Seraphina seemed provoked too, and she said casually, "Yeah, I'm evil. I'm a bad person. I'm unfaithful in love. I can play with one person's feelings one moment and another's the next. I'm that kind of person. I should jump off the top of Everhart Bank!"

Cecilia's heart skipped a beat, and her anger flared up again. "Say that again and see what happens!"

Seraphina held back.

She wanted to vent too.

From sending Sebastian to the hospital last night to breaking up with Dashiell, she had reached her limit!

She really wanted to cry out her grievances.

She was also very upset.

She bit her lip, trying to hold back.

She knew that since she had chosen this path, there was no room for regret, she could only keep moving forward.

"Who do you really want to be with?" Cecilia forced herself to calm down.

She knew Seraphina's temper well; if pushed too hard, Seraphina would intentionally rebel.

"Sebastian," Seraphina said without hesitation.

"What happened to you!" Cecilia knew Seraphina too well.

Seraphina wouldn't have given Dashiell another chance and then gone back to Sebastian.

Something must have happened.

Yet Seraphina didn't say.

Cecilia asked, "Seraphina, are you hiding something from me?"

"Can you not tell Dashiell?" Seraphina's eyes were red, and her voice choked.

"Okay," Cecilia agreed immediately.

Seraphina sniffed, controlling her emotions as she told Cecilia everything that had happened yesterday.

After she finished speaking, Cecilia still hadn't said anything.

Alaric, unable to bear it, said, "Stupid."

"Cecilia!" Seraphina screamed.

Apparently, she had heard Alaric's voice, and she was not calm anymore.

Cecilia and Alaric's eardrums were almost shattered!

Alaric rubbed his ears and said, "You seem pretty energetic; it doesn't look like you're very upset!"

Just now, Seraphina had said she was heartbroken.

Alaric took the opportunity to mock her.

Seraphina was really angry.

How could these things be known to others?

"Alaric, shut up," Cecilia yelled at Alaric, then said into the phone, "Come to my house, we'll talk."

"Okay." Seraphina nodded, then broke down. "I don't want to see Alaric!" she exclaimed.

"Okay." Cecilia nodded.

Alaric was frustrated.
