Chapter 529 Setting a Trap (5) Sowing Discord

Just when Seraphina thought she couldn't wait any longer, the wedding finally kicked off.

The whole place went dead quiet, everyone glued to the scene.

The ceremony was pretty basic, nothing fancy.

First, the groom showed up, then the bride, followed by vows, rings, and a kiss.

Cecilia calmly watched the man she loved in her previous life, Dominic, marry another woman in this lifetime.

In contrast, Seraphina was very restless, throwing sarcastic comments about Dominic and Lyra from start to finish.

Anyone who didn't know better might've thought she was there to crash the wedding, which secretly made Cecilia a bit happy.

After the ceremony, everyone sat down for the meal.

Dominic and Lyra went to change and then kicked off the luncheon.

Seraphina couldn't wait to see Dominic and Lyra's reactions when they faced Cecilia.

"Eat something," Sebastian said, putting food on Seraphina's plate.

But Seraphina wasn't interested in eating; she just wanted to see the drama unfold.

"You've lost so much weight," Sebastian added more food to her plate, acting like a doting boyfriend.

"I haven't lost weight," Seraphina shot back. "I'm just back to my normal size."

"Still too thin," Sebastian insisted.

"I've got a perfectly standard figure," Seraphina said, annoyed.

To prove her point, she puffed out her chest for Sebastian to see.

Cecilia was speechless.

Seraphina could be so unrestrained no matter the situation.

Cecilia glanced at Dashiell beside her.

He was expressionless, calmly eating his food.

Cecilia thought, 'Maybe letting go was a good thing.'

In the quiet dining room, Dominic and Lyra finally came back.

Dominic addressed the guests, saying a bunch of grandiose stuff, trying to look humble and polite.

After his speech, he started toasting.

He didn't do anything special towards Cecilia, not even a glance.

He was trying to avoid the issue for now.

Then, Seraphina decided to stir the pot. "Dominic, I think you should have a drink with Cecilia alone."

Dominic's face changed, and even the smiling Lyra beside him looked stiff.

"You two were once the 'it' couple of Serenovia City, almost got married if it weren't for..." Seraphina let her sentence hang.

Everyone knew Dominic and Cecilia's wedding fell apart because of his cheating.

Bringing it up was meant to embarrass him big time.

Dominic was the star today, and everyone was watching. He couldn't lose his cool, or it would ruin the good guy image he had worked so hard to build.

He kept his anger in check, forcing a smile.

Seraphina really admired his hypocrisy.

She had pushed him to the edge, and he still held it together.

She sneered and added, "It's a good thing you didn't get married back then. Now, each of you has found your own happiness. So, I think you should have a drink with Cecilia alone. I'm sure Lyra wouldn't mind, right?"

She then shifted her focus to Lyra.

Lyra quickly regained her cool and smiled. "Of course, I don't mind."

Her generous statement left Dominic no choice but to have a drink with Cecilia alone.

After the drink, Cecilia poured herself another glass and said, "Now, I'll have a drink with Lyra alone."

Lyra's eyes flickered.

This was the first time they were facing off.

Between two women with a competitive history, comparisons were inevitable.

"Dominic is a good man. Back then, between him and me..." Cecilia paused, smiling innocently. "No matter what, I'm really happy he found his true love again. I wish you both happiness."

Lyra smiled lightly. "Thank you."

But inside, she was fuming.

What did she mean by "Dominic finding true love again"?

Dominic had always loved her, not Cecilia.

But she couldn't argue right now, just feeling frustrated inside.

As Dominic was about to take Lyra's hand and leave, Cecilia called out again, "Dominic, I wish you happiness."

Dominic's face darkened.

Cecilia's words were clearly loaded.

He quickly glanced at Lyra, seeing her visibly upset.

Dominic gritted his teeth.

Cecilia was here to stir the pot!

He pulled Lyra away from the table quickly.

Cecilia smiled slightly.

No matter how much Lyra believed Dominic didn't like her, her deliberate actions would make Lyra feel uneasy.

Seraphina wanted to applaud.

Cecilia's skill in causing trouble was top-notch.

Without any overt hostility, she appeared magnanimous to outsiders, clearly playing the good person, yet causing conflict between Dominic and Lyra.

Before Seraphina could say anything, a female voice suddenly called out, "Dashiell,"

Dashiell turned to see Penelope.

Seraphina's hostility towards Penelope was obvious. She glanced at her and then lowered her head to eat.

"I've been looking for you. I didn't expect you to be sitting with Cecilia," Penelope said, clearly annoyed.

She really hated Cecilia and Seraphina.

Dashiell didn't respond, ignoring Penelope.

"If it weren't for accompanying Dominic to toast, I wouldn't have found you. I'll come find you after I'm done with Dominic," Penelope said without waiting for Dashiell's consent.

She knew Dashiell would never agree, so she left in a hurry after saying that.

Dashiell remained silent, but he still looked up at Penelope's departing figure.

Seraphina noticed Dashiell's action and then lowered her head.

At that moment, she felt a bit sarcastic.

She didn't know what Dashiell saw in that bitch Penelope.

Penelope might be awful to others, but she was genuinely good to Dashiell, which was enough to move him!

She always felt that someone like Dashiell was easily swayed.

As long as someone was good to him, he would be good to them.

Seraphina thought about it, feeling a bit uncomfortable.

She didn't know why she had been feeling so repressed lately.

She always thought her life after divorce would be great.
