Chapter 352 Dashiell's Scent Lingered on the Bed

Magnolia just kinda slid into Seraphina's room like it was no big deal.

Lucy packed up Seraphina's stuff and dumped it in Dashiell's room.

"Who the hell told you to put my stuff in his room?!" Seraphina snapped, her temper flaring up.

Lucy felt a bit wronged.

Just as she was about to explain, Dashiell rolled out of the room in his wheelchair, "I told Lucy to put them there."

"So you think I'm gonna share a room with you? I'd rather crash at a hotel than..." Seraphina fumed.

"I'll crash on the couch," Dashiell cut her off.

Seraphina was taken aback.

Dashiell explained, "I asked Lucy to clear the room for you. My stuff only takes up one cabinet. If you don't wanna see it, just don't open the innermost cabinet door."

Seraphina pursed her lips. She felt kinda bad for blowing up like that.

She quickly pulled herself together, thinking if Dashiell had just said that earlier, she wouldn't have lost it.

"It's late, you should get some rest," Dashiell said, wheeling himself towards the couch.

Lucy quickly followed, "Mr. Rainier, are you sure you can sleep on the couch? How about I take the couch? I can sleep anywhere, and the couch is big and soft, way comfier than the bed I had in the countryside."

"No need, I'll sleep here," Dashiell refused, "Just get me a blanket."

"But Mr. Rainier..." Lucy hesitated.

"Do as I say," Dashiell insisted.

Lucy knew Dashiell had his own principles. He wasn't the type to just go along with things, yet he always compromised with Seraphina. She just couldn't get why Seraphina didn't like Dashiell. A guy like him would be a catch for any woman!

Seraphina just glanced a few more times at Dashiell and Lucy. In the end, she still walked into Dashiell's room.

Seraphina told herself she wasn't bullying Dashiell. It was Magnolia who took her room, so she took over Dashiell's room.

In short, Magnolia was too bossy, and she wasn't at fault.

Seraphina took a shower, lay down on the bed, and slept like it was the most natural thing.

Yet, as Seraphina turned over, she realized that Lucy hadn't changed the bed sheets.

Dashiell's scent lingered on the bed.

She was very familiar with that scent.

Seraphina suddenly felt a bit irritable.

At this moment, she couldn't help but think back to the night they hooked up on this very bed.

Damn it.

She couldn't sleep at all.

She suddenly got up from the bed and opened the door.

A dim light was left on in the living room, and she could vaguely see someone lying on the couch, seemingly asleep.

Seraphina just glanced at it and then knocked on Lucy's door somewhat rudely.

Lucy rubbed her eyes, looking at Seraphina in a daze, "Ms. Everhart, do you want to sleep with me?"

"Oh, hell no!" Seraphina snapped.

Lucy didn't know what she had done to upset Seraphina again.

"Change the sheets for me, change them to new ones," Seraphina ordered.

"I already changed them," Lucy said, feeling extremely wronged.

Seraphina waked her up so late just to change the sheets.

Seraphina retorted, "How is it that Dashiell's scent is still all over the bed, even after changing the sheets? I can't sleep at all."

"That's not true, I even smelled it after I changed them, it clearly smells like laundry detergent."

Seraphina shot back, "Is there something wrong with your sense of smell?"

"You're the one with the problem," Lucy muttered under her breath, rebelling.

"Lucy, watch your tone!" Seraphina was fuming.

She wanted to kick Lucy out right then and there!

"That's because you're being unreasonable!" Lucy was on the verge of exploding with anger.

First, she was woken up in the middle of the night for no reason, and second, Seraphina was clearly picking a fight over something that wasn't true.

Seraphina snapped, "Lucy, you..."

"It's because you're thinking about Mr. Rainier, that you think the bed smells like him. It's all in your head, yet you blame me. I already changed the sheets, but you still accuse me!" Lucy said indignantly.

For a moment, Seraphina was at a loss for words.

"Anyway, I already changed the sheets. If you don't have anything else, I'm going back to sleep," Lucy said, looking like she was in the right and couldn't be blamed.

Seraphina was livid.

But she had no way to vent.

Holding her breath, she turned on her heel and stormed off.

She returned to her bed and took a deep sniff.

Indeed, it was the smell of laundry detergent, mixed with Dashiell's scent.

She had to buy a new set tomorrow, a completely new one.

One that Dashiell hadn't used.

Thinking this, Seraphina planned to sleep well.

But maybe because she had napped in the afternoon, she couldn't fall asleep at all.

No matter how she tried to make herself sleep, she just couldn't.

Seraphina felt inexplicably irritable.

She suddenly got out of bed again, opened the door, and went out.

Outside the door, the same dim light, the same figure lying on the couch.

This time, Seraphina didn't spare a glance and headed straight to the kitchen bar to get some water.

She gulped down a large glass of water.

When she was about to return to her room, Seraphina inexplicably walked towards the couch.

She stood beside the couch, looking at Dashiell sleeping somewhat restlessly.

The couch was clearly too soft, sinking under Dashiell's weight. It was obvious that he would wake up with a sore back.

Damn it.

Why should she care if Dashiell had a sore back? Why was she thinking so much?

She turned to leave.

After all, it was Dashiell's choice.

She wouldn't care, let alone feel guilty.

Seraphina left.

Dashiell, lying on the couch, opened his eyes.

Watching her back, he still felt a bit disappointed.

Magnolia was indeed impressive, but she overlooked the fact that Seraphina didn't love him.

She didn't love him.

So she wouldn't have any feelings.

The next day, Seraphina was woken up by the nausea in her stomach.

She had tossed and turned all night, not knowing when she finally fell asleep. It was clearly still early, but she felt so awful that she had to get up and rush to the toilet, vomiting her guts out, probably expelling everything she had eaten last night.

Seraphina felt like she was going to die from the vomiting!

She plopped down on the floor.

It was just a pregnancy, so why did it frustrate her so much?

She already disliked the baby, and now it was deliberately making her miserable!

Seraphina cursed, trying to distract herself.

She struggled to stand up, washed up a bit, and walked out of the bedroom.

To her dismay, she found herself ravenously hungry immediately after throwing up.
