Chapter 390 Being Highly Insulted
Dominic's compromise made Cecilia flash a sly grin.
Her smile was drop-dead gorgeous, but to Dominic, it was more like a smirk.
She drawled, "So, Mr. Kingsley, you're cool with coughing up 20 million for this project?"
"Ms. Lockhart has has already put it this way. If I don't agree now, it would really be disrespectful to Mr. Ward. As for this project, the Kingsley Group is genuinely doing it for charity, with no intention of making a profit. I don't know how the Lockhart Group's crunching the numbers, but for us, it's zero profit. Of course, I'm not saying we are unwilling to bear this 20 million loss. When it comes to charity, the Kingsley certainly doesn't mind the gains or losses." Dominic deliberately defended the Kingsley Group.
"Once I get back, I'll have the Kingsley Group draft the contract as quickly as possible and proceed with the signing with the Lockhart Group," Dominic confirmed.
"I'll be waiting for that contract," Cecilia said. "By the way, Mr. Kingsley, the Kingsley Group is facing severe defamation, so it's best not to delay. The stock market can't wait much longer either."
"You don't need to worry about that," Dominic replied.
"Alright. If that's all, I'll leave now." Cecilia said coolly, then shot a smile at Kai. "Mr. Ward, If anything comes up, contact me by phone."
"OK, I'll see you next time," Kai replied.
"I'll head back too. I should go to fill Nathaniel in on today's deal and get this project rolling." Dominic stood up.
"Alright, bye." Kai nodded.
After waving goodbye, Cecilia and Dominic strolled out of the planning department together.
"Cecilia, you're a real piece of work!" Dominic couldn't help but snap.
"Mr. Kingsley, you're too kind," Cecilia said icily. "My competition's just weak."
Dominic's face darkened.
Cecilia didn't give a damn about Dominic's anger.
"But." Cecilia paused.
Dominic frowned, watching her.
"Without using the Lockhart Group's manpower and resources, we managed to appease Mr. Ward and still gained a profit of 20 million," Cecilia smirked. "This time, the Lockhart Group really got the better end of the deal."
Dominic's face turned even grimmer.
Cecilia acted like she didn't notice.
She glanced at her phone.
Her smile got even wider.
She showed Dominic the screen. "Mr. Ward just thanked me personally!"
Seeing the message on Cecilia's phone, Dominic's veins popped with rage.
Cecilia watched him with a mocking look.
Without another word, she left with Rose and Augustus.
At that moment, Dominic was so mad he could've strangled her.
The Lockhart Group really milked this project for all it was worth, while the Kingsley Group took a massive hit!
The more Dominic thought about it, the angrier he got.
He glared at Cecilia's retreating figure.
He gritted his teeth and picked up the phone. "Cecilia, you better stay sharp forever. Otherwise..."
"Otherwise, you'll kill me?" Cecilia asked coldly.
"You won't have a happy ending!" Dominic snapped and hung up.
Cecilia casually put her phone down.
She didn't give a damn about Dominic's threats.
She got into the car and ordered, "To the detention center."
"Yeah," Augustus shot back quickly.
Cecilia was on her way to see Andrew.
She wasn't feeling all warm and fuzzy towards him; she just wanted to show him how dumb he was.
"Ms. Lockhart," Rose finally blurted out in the car.
She couldn't admire her too much.
She thought Cecilia was so badass that she and everyone else could only look up to her.
How epic do you have to be to play the game this perfectly?
In this project, the Kingsley Group took all the heat, and the Lockhart Group reaped all the rewards. It was a total boss move!
"I really admire you!" Rose said, still buzzing with excitement.
Cecilia gave a calm smile. "The opponent was just too dumb."
"The opponent wasn't dumb at all, okay? If you hadn't set up a perfect trap, the Lockhart Group would've taken a silent hit!" Rose said.
"This is nothing," Cecilia said nonchalantly.
"Nothing?" Rose's eyes went wide.
The Kingsley Group's benefits from this project were all snatched by the Lockhart Group. It was a major blow and super insulting!
Cecilia smiled, "There are even more exciting things to come."
Rose was speechless!
She was just in awe!
The car pulled up at the detention center.
Cecilia went through the motions to see Andrew.
When Andrew saw Cecilia, he freaked out.
After being locked up for half a day, he was probably scared out of his mind.
He quickly yelled, "Cecilia, get me out of here! I can't stay in this place, I'm allergic, my whole body is breaking out!"
Cecilia looked at him coldly, not budging.
"Cecilia, what are you doing? Didn't you come to get me out? Hurry up and get me out!" Andrew shouted, clearly losing it.
"I'm just here to watch you make a fool of yourself," Cecilia said bluntly.
Her coldness towards Andrew's panic was chilling.
Andrew was stunned.
He stared at Cecilia, unable to believe his eyes.
He seemed totally dumbfounded.
After a few seconds of silence, Andrew got even more agitated. "Cecilia, no matter what, we're family, we share blood. You can't just watch me die, you can't..."
"I did it to your father, why not to you?" Cecilia cut him off.
"You!" Andrew was so choked by Cecilia's words that his face turned dark. He shouted, "You heartless witch. You'll die a horrible death!"
"So you think by scheming against me, you'll have a happy ending?"
"I..." Andrew was speechless.
"You stole the Lockhart Group's trade secrets and handed them to the Kingsley Group. What else do you have to say? Andrew, I'm here to tell you that Eloise has also been arrested, but Dominic hasn't! Which means, you and your precious Eloise are taking the fall, while the real culprit is still free," Cecilia said, word by word.
"Eloise has also been arrested?" Andrew looked at Cecilia in disbelief.
"What? Heartbroken? Do you really love that woman? Should I tell you that Eloise has always been Dominic's pawn? She got close to you just to seduce you and make you follow Dominic's orders! Did you really think she loved you?" Cecilia said.
