Chapter 468 The Game (13) The Kingsley Group was Investigated on the Spot
The elevator doors slid shut, leaving Seraphina and Dashiell standing there, side by side, in awkward silence.
The vibe was still kinda tense.
"Why did you get work assignments on the weekend?" Seraphina couldn't handle the awkwardness anymore and broke the silence.
Dashiell stayed mum.
"Are you trying to get back at Sebastian or something?" Seraphina pressed.
Dashiell kept his lips sealed.
"Dashiell, you gotta keep your personal beef out of work," Seraphina snapped.
She felt like Dashiell was treating her like she was invisible.
"Right now, you're higher up than Sebastian, but in a few days, he might outrank you. Everhart Bank is family-owned. Atticus would never really hand it over to you," Seraphina threatened.
Dashiell just listened, no reaction at all.
"Dashiell!" Seraphina shouted, fuming. "Why are you ignoring me?"
"Because I don't know what to say," Dashiell replied coolly.
"Silence means agreement, doesn't it? It means everything I said is spot on, and you can't argue with it," Seraphina shot back.
"Whatever you say," Dashiell replied in a whatever tone.
That could really make Seraphina blow a fuse.
"With your attitude, Penelope's gonna dump you sooner or later!" Seraphina spat through gritted teeth.
Dashiell just watched the numbers on the elevator.
When the doors opened, he strode out.
He didn't give a damn about anything Seraphina said.
Seraphina watched him walk out, angrily trailing behind him.
Only then did she realize they were in the basement.
She was supposed to go to the first floor to catch a cab home. Sebastian said he needed to work a bit longer and told her to go ahead. Seraphina didn't want to bug Sebastian, so she left. She didn't dare drive herself, so she had to take a cab, but she ended up following Dashiell to the garage.
No biggie.
But then, the black car drove off right in front of her.
Seraphina finally lost it and screamed in the garage.
She angrily stomped back to the elevator to go to the first floor.
In her rage, she couldn't help but notice that Dashiell didn't seem to be using his cane when he left.
That jerk, he really bounced back fast!
On Monday, Cecilia had just sat down in her office.
Dashiell called, "Sebastian's filing a lawsuit now."
Last night, he got a call from Sebastian saying he would file a fraud lawsuit against the Kingsley Group this morning. He just called to say he had submitted the report and lawsuit, and the authorities would investigate the matter today.
"Okay." Cecilia nodded.
She knew Dashiell was solid.
She put down her phone and looked at Rose, asking, "How's the international e-commerce project coming along?"
"Pretty good. We've started pilot marketing, and the convenience of ordering and user acceptance are both excellent. Here's the front-end data for you to check out."
Cecilia took the data report and smiled.
Rose, on the other hand, was a bit puzzled.
Why did Cecilia hand over such an awesome international e-commerce marketing plan to the Kingsley Group?
Cecilia said, "Hit up the Kingsley Group and tell 'em we need to chat about the full-scale launch of the international e-commerce project. Also, set up a video call with Bill."
"Got it," Rose nodded.
Even though she didn't totally get the project, she had to roll with Cecilia's orders.
Ten minutes later, Rose knocked and came in, "Ms. Lockhart, the Kingsley Group and Bill are good to go. They want us at their place at 10 AM."
"Perfect," Cecilia agreed right away. "Grab Pierce, and we'll head out in twenty."
"On it."
Twenty minutes later, Cecilia, Pierce, and Rose rolled up to the Kingsley Group, getting there at 9:50 AM.
They strolled into the executive conference room at 9:55 AM.
Nathaniel, Dominic, and Penelope were already there.
Usually, Penelope and Cecilia handled the project talks, but today, since it was a video call with Mr. Tackett, the Kingsley Family was showing they meant business.
At 10 AM sharp, Bill's video call connected.
After some small talk, Cecilia cut to the chase, "After opening the international e-commerce channel, we picked some regions for pilot marketing. We got users with e-commerce needs to join the pilot, with 20,000 participants and 2,000 actual sales, hitting a 10% transaction rate. From that 10%, customer satisfaction was at 98%. For those who didn't buy, 80% said it was 'cause there weren't suitable products, so we can diversify our range more. This is something we need to tweak moving forward. Based on my analysis, I think we can fully launch the e-commerce project in the Yakurosean Empire."
"Well," Bill jumped in first. "I've gone through Cecilia's report. The analysis is solid, and I'm very pleased. I think it's time for a big launch."
"I agree," Nathaniel chimed in.
"Since Mr. Tackett and the Kingsley Group are on board, I'll lay out the plan for the nationwide launch..." Cecilia detailed the plan.
The plan was so tight that even Dominic, who never admitted anyone was better than him, had to give props.
He watched Cecilia's serious vibe.
Working closely with Cecilia, he really saw her shine.
He used to think Cecilia was just a stiff, upper-class heir with no surprises or strong opinions. He thought he could push her around.
But now, Cecilia gave him this untouchable sense of awe.
Dominic tried to play it cool.
He wasn't about to let anyone see his admiration, maybe even affection, for Cecilia.
After Cecilia wrapped up her report, she said, "Finally, I'll break down the funding usage for Mr. Tackett and the Kingsley Group. The detailed breakdown of the initial funds has been reviewed and signed off by both of you. The upcoming expenses will be around three hundred million dollars..."
Before she could finish, the conference room door swung open. Three guys in uniforms walked in. "We're from the authorities, and we're here to investigate the Kingsley Group for fraudulently obtaining large loans!!"
