Chapter 773 The Monroe Family's Conspiracy

Alaric tightened his grip on the phone.

The last time he went back, he didn't even look at Cecilia's belly, and now it's been more than half a month since he last saw her.

He hung up the phone and put it down.

He put down the phone and looked out the window.

The office location here wasn't high up, but nothing was obstructing the view, stretching out endlessly.

He lit a cigarette and took a few puffs.

Cassius, who was playing a game next to him, said, "Did Dashiell call you?"

"Yes."

"Did he talk about Cecilia?"

Alaric took a deep drag on his cigarette and didn't answer.

"Why don't you go back tomorrow?" Cassius said, "Everything here is already settled, you can come back tomorrow night. I'll arrange the trip for you."

Saying that, Cassius put down his phone and started to make arrangements.

"No need," Alaric said, smoking, "She doesn't want to see me."

"If she doesn't want to see you, are you going to avoid her for the rest of your life? What's the point of keeping her around then? You might as well separate..." Cassius's words got stuck in his throat.

Alaric gave him a look that almost scared him to death.

Damn it.

Always taking his anger out on himself.

If he had the guts, he should do the same to Cecilia, make her submit to his authority!

"Anyway, I don't think this is a solution," Cassius muttered, "Cecilia is not as docile as you think, she won't just accept things as they are."

Alaric knew.

But he couldn't find any other way to make her stay.

Cassius didn't get a response from Alaric.

He decided on his own.

He sent a message to arrange the trip back.

He felt that Alaric must be going crazy, missing Cecilia.

It would be good to go back and see her.

In his own life's grand stage, he hoped there would be someone to celebrate with him.

After making the arrangements, Cassius said to Alaric, "The flight leaves at 8 PM tonight and returns at 8 PM tomorrow night. Do you need help packing?"

Alaric extinguished his cigarette.

There was already a pile of cigarette butts in front of him.

He turned his gaze to Cassius.

"Whether you go back or not is up to you, I'm just making arrangements," Cassius stretched and stood up from the couch. "I also want to go back and see my son. It's been half a month since I last saw him. I wonder if he still recognizes me."

Alaric pursed his lips.

"I stayed up almost all night working with you last night. I'm going to rest for a bit, I'll come pick you up later."

Alaric didn't say anything.

Usually, if he didn't refuse, it meant he agreed.

Cassius chuckled lightly.

Alaric was really quite contradictory.

The Monroe Mansion.

A group of people sat together.

Tomas looked a bit cold, "I just got word that Cassius booked a flight for Alaric to Serenovia City tonight."

After speaking, he turned to look at Juniper.

Juniper smiled indifferently, "If he wants to go back, let him go back, I don't care."

"How can you not care? Juniper, do you know how important you are to the Monroe family right now? Do you know that your relationship with Alaric directly affects the survival of the Monroe family?" Tomas said seriously.

Juniper pursed her lips.

Lyra felt a bit uncomfortable.

In the past, Tomas would discuss everything with her and ask for her advice, but now suddenly, Juniper had become the most important person in the family.

The feeling of being both pampered and important that Juniper had made her feel very uncomfortable.

"Even if I care, what can I do? Follow him to Serenovia City?" Juniper said with a bit of arrogance, "If Alaric wants to come back, he will. If he doesn't, then so be it."

Tomas looked disappointed.

If it weren't for Juniper, the Monroe family and Alaric would have completely broken off, and now it was uncertain who would win. They could very well be the next Hotchner family!

It was hard enough to establish this lord-vassal relationship with Alaric through Juniper, and they couldn't afford any mistakes.

"Dad, I'll go with him," Lyra volunteered.

Juniper turned to look at Lyra.

Everyone else also looked at her.

"What I mean is, I'm quite familiar with Serenovia City, and Juniper's current condition makes it inconvenient for her to travel around with Alaric," Lyra explained.

"Is that really what you think?" Tomas was clearly skeptical.

Tomas had watched them grow up and knew their personalities well.

Lyra had always been competitive, and now seeing Juniper doing better than her, she would naturally feel some jealousy.

He was afraid she might cause trouble.

"I admit I have my own motives," Lyra said frankly.

Tomas's eyes tightened.

Juniper's expression also changed slightly.

"I want to go back and put Cecilia in her place," Lyra said.

Tomas paused.

Juniper's expression seemed to relax a bit.

"I've always suspected that Cecilia had something to do with my miscarriage. I've kept this grudge in my heart, but for the sake of our family's development, I've held back. Now that Cecilia is completely against our family and poses a certain threat, I must go to Serenovia City and teach her a lesson," Lyra said fiercely, "I'll repay her double for what she did to me."

"You're courting death," Tomas said coldly, "If you harm Cecilia, do you think Alaric will let you go? If it were possible to harm Cecilia, do you think I would have let her live?"

"Even if I can't kill her, I can make her suffer. At the very least, I can disrupt her relationship with Alaric. Even though Alaric and Cecilia are divorced, you agreed that they could be together privately. As long as they're together, do you think his relationship with Juniper will be good?" Lyra said indignantly, "No matter what, I won't let Cecilia have an easy time!"

Tomas wanted to say something.

Juniper suddenly spoke, "Since Lyra is so eager to get back at Cecilia, I don't think we should stop her."

Tomas frowned.

Juniper said, "Lyra is right. We, the Monroe family, can't let Cecilia be so arrogant. I can't accept this humiliation either. Lyra, I'll leave the task of putting Cecilia in her place to you."

"Okay," Lyra agreed immediately.

What she was really thinking was.

She could use this as an excuse to get close to Alaric.

If it weren't for Juniper's luck, she would have been the first lady!

In the end, Juniper was no match for her.

From childhood to adulthood, she had always been better than Juniper, but in the end, Juniper had become more noble!

"Then it's settled. I'll go to Serenovia City with Alaric tonight," Lyra said excitedly.

"Alright," Juniper nodded.

Tomas held back and finally agreed.

After all, keeping Cecilia by Alaric's side was not a long-term solution.
