Chapter 592 Dominic's Tragic End

In the prison.

Cecilia didn't say another word and turned to leave.

She had said everything she needed to say to Dominic.

There was no longer any attachment.

From now on, Dominic would disappear from her life.

She thought, 'The greatest sorrow in life is not death, but to completely disappear from someone else's heart.'

"Cecilia, did I not love you in our past life?" Dominic suddenly called out as she reached the door.

Cecilia's steps paused.

When she was tormented by Dominic in her past life, there was a time when she couldn't figure it out.

But now, whether Dominic loved her or not, Cecilia no longer cared.

She turned to face him, "Besides the power you crave, what else do you love?"

Her tone was sarcastic.

People like Dominic were actually quite pitiful.

His life was all about gains and losses, devoid of any emotions.

To achieve his goals, he would do anything, no matter how unscrupulous.

He never felt the emotions that a human should naturally have.

What was the point of his life!

"By the way, I almost forgot to tell you." Cecilia's fleeting emotion for Dominic's sorrow passed quickly.

She said, "In our past life, we were married for ten years. You were extremely cold to me in bed, and all your sexual desires were spent on other women. The ones I know of are Isadora, Juliana, Eloise, Lyra, and many others whose names I've already forgotten."

Dominic watched as Cecilia recounted all his sins with the most indifferent attitude.

"And it was only in this life that I realized what the so-called feeling of sex truly is. It made my feelings for Alaric even stronger."

"Is that so?" Dominic suddenly laughed self-deprecatingly.

It was as if he had become a different person.

Unlike the suppressed anger from before, Dominic now seemed exceptionally calm and inexplicably sorrowful.

He said, "Cecilia, what if I told you that now I do love you?"

Cecilia's brow furrowed.

She had thought of everything when she came to see Dominic today.

She thought Dominic would rage, break down, refute her, stubbornly believe he was right.

She never expected him to say something like this.

Cecilia also laughed, but her laughter was filled with irony. She truly didn't know how to interpret Dominic's so-called love.

She even felt that Dominic was still using his tricks to please women to manipulate her.

"I get jealous of your affection with Alaric, I get deeply attracted to your sudden radiance, and when I'm making love to Lyra, all I can think about is you!" Dominic said, revealing everything at that moment.

So, the sting in Dominic's heart was simply because he had fallen in love with Cecilia.

He admitted it; he had fallen in love with Cecilia.

Cecilia laughed, she actually believed him.

Because Dominic wasn't stupid.

He knew very well that whatever he said now, the outcome would still be the same.

There was no need for him to do something that wouldn't help him, or even make his life more pathetic.

Cecilia said, "Dominic, in my past life, I was sincere to you, and in return, you killed me. Now, I target you in every way, even leading you to this end, and you say you love me. Tell me, whose sorrow is it between us?"

"Probably mine," Dominic said softly.

"But," Cecilia looked at Dominic coldly, "it doesn't matter to me anymore. In my past life, I might have wanted your repentance, even thought that everything you did to me was just a nightmare, and when I woke up, you would still love me. But now, because I met Alaric, because I know what true love is, I can now calmly accept everything you say. To me, you really don't matter anymore!"

Dominic slently nodded.

He didn't even know why he said those words.

Saying them out loud didn't seem as hard to accept as he thought.

It turned out that falling in love with someone wasn't really painful.

The real pain come from loving without knowing and causing deep hurt.

"Cecilia, I hope you find happiness," Dominic said deeply, watching Cecilia's cold back as she left.

This was probably the most sincere moment of his life.

In the past, he had calculated the gains and losses of everything he did. Only this moment was genuine.

"Thanks, but I've already found my happiness," Cecilia said as she walked away without looking back.

Dominic laughed.

Finally, he laughed at his pathetic life, a sarcastic laugh.

He laughed until tears came out.

It looked hideous and tragic.

His eyes suddenly tightened.

With all his strength, he bit down hard on his tongue, as if he could no longer feel the pain.

His mouth filled with blood, cruelly flowing out.

He finally bit his tongue and committed suicide.

He knew very well that the so-called 20-year suspended sentence was just a time for the Monroe family to torture him.

In these 20 years, he would live a life worse than death.

Immediate suicide was the best way for him to cut his losses.

He never thought that one day, death would be his greatest happiness.

Dominic fell heavily to the ground.

Blood flowed from the corner of his mouth, covering the floor.

In his mind, Cecilia's image suddenly appeared, but it was Cecilia as a child.

He took the initiative to hold her little hand, saying, "Cecilia, Grandpa said that when we grow up, we will get married. You will be my wife, and I will take good care of you."

He couldn't remember if he was sincere when he said that.

All he could see was the sweet and obedient image of Cecilia as a child, flashing before his eyes over and over again, until he had no more connection with this world.

The news of Dominic's suicide in prison broke that very night.

When Cecilia saw that the cause of Dominic's death was biting his tongue, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of emotion.

She suddenly remembered her past life, when she and Dominic were in love.

At that time, Dominic always used sweet words to please her, and she thought Dominic was the best man in the world for her. She would also playfully say to him, "Dominic, you're always so glib, will you lie to me?"

"If I lie to you, I'll bite my tongue and die!" Dominic swore with a serious face.

Cecilia believed him at that time.

After everything she went through, she forgot that Dominic had said those words.

After all, remembering it was a humiliation.

Now, Dominic really did bite his tongue and die.

There was no other way.

After all, being imprisoned, it wasn't easy to die.

If he didn't die, everything Dominic would face next would be more painful than death.

Dying now was actually the greatest mercy for him.
