Chapter 448 I'm Here to Take Over Everhart Bank

Seraphina stormed into Atticus's office like she owned the place.

And guess what? Dashiell was there too.

He spun around just in time to see Seraphina, looking like she was about to blow a gasket.

"Why the hell did you let him come to the company?" she snapped.

Dashiell just looked away, avoiding her glare.

Atticus frowned. "I make the calls around here. You don't need to get involved."

"Do you have any idea how awkward you made things for me and Sebastian? I heard this position was supposed to be Sebastian's, and now this guy just waltzes in and takes his spot. What gives him the right?" Seraphina yelled.

She didn't care who she embarrassed, not even Atticus.

In front of Dashiell, Seraphina was totally unfiltered.

Atticus's tone got serious. "You don't need to worry about company stuff. I'll explain later. Get back to work."

Seraphina shot back, "Isn't this all just to suck up to Magnolia? Now that I'm divorced from Dashiell, you can get back with her. Everything you're doing is just to please her, right?"

"Enough!" Atticus was getting pissed.

He'd been super patient with Seraphina, but she just didn't care and showed zero respect.

"In this company, I call the shots; you don't get a say!"

"All you care about is Magnolia!" Seraphina spat.

She knew she couldn't change anything.

She knew how much Atticus liked Magnolia. He'd probably hand over the company just to win her back.

Seraphina stormed out, slamming the door behind her.

Atticus sighed, frustrated. "I really don't know what to do with her. When will she grow up and stop being so impulsive?"

"Give it time," Dashiell said. "She'll change."

Atticus sighed heavily, "Thanks, Dashiell."

"No problem." Dashiell smiled. "If there's nothing else, I'll head out."

"If you run into any issues at work, just ask me," Atticus said.

"Okay." Dashiell nodded politely.

He gave a slight bow and left Atticus's office.

He headed to his own office.

Just as he sat down, there was a knock on the door.

"Come in," Dashiell said.

Seraphina walked in.

Dashiell had a hunch it was her.

It was his first day, and no one else had a reason to see him.

"Dashiell, what the hell is this about?" Seraphina demanded.

Dashiell ignored her.

He picked up the phone and told the secretary, "Get me a black coffee, thanks."

"Yes, Mr. Rainier," the secretary replied.

He hung up and went back to his documents.

"Dashiell, I'm talking to you! What do you mean by coming to the company?" Seraphina was fuming.

She was about to lose it from Dashiell's indifference.

From the start, he hadn't even looked at her.

"Are you trying to take over the Everhart Family business?" Seraphina guessed.

Dashiell's smile was hard to read—was it sarcastic or bitter?

In Seraphina's mind, he was always that lowlife.

There was a knock on the door, and the secretary brought in the coffee.

Seeing Seraphina, she quickly greeted, "Ms. Everhart."

Seraphina's position wasn't high, but she could act like she owned the place.

No one dared to mess with Atticus's daughter.

"Get out!" Seraphina snapped.

She was already fuming, and the secretary got the brunt of it.

The secretary felt a bit wronged, quickly put down the coffee, and scurried out.

The door closed.

With the door shut, Dashiell finally looked at Seraphina and said, "You're right."

Seraphina almost choked on her own breath, staring at Dashiell with wide eyes.

He actually had the nerve to admit it.

What a shameless jerk.

"I'm here to take over Everhart Bank," Dashiell said. "Happy now?"

She wanted to strangle him.

"Dashiell, why are you such a scumbag?" Seraphina fumed.

"Since I can't have you, getting your family's assets isn't a bad consolation prize," Dashiell said coldly.

"You!" Seraphina was so mad she could barely speak.

"If there's nothing else, please leave, Ms. Everhart. It's my first day, and I've got a lot to catch up on. Don't waste my time."

Seraphina glared at Dashiell.

It was like he had turned into a different person—so heartless, so cold-blooded.

Her eyes started to well up with tears.

Her heart was suffocating with rage.

"I'm telling you, Dashiell, you'll never get my family's assets! And I'll never like you!" she shouted.

With that, Seraphina turned and stormed out.

Again, she slammed the door in anger.

Dashiell glanced at the door, then turned back to his documents.

Seraphina was right; she wouldn't like him, and he wouldn't get her family's assets.

The phone rang.

Dashiell took a deep breath, trying to calm down, and then answered, "Cecilia."

"Did you get into Everhart Bank?" Cecilia asked.

"Yeah," Dashiell nodded.

"As the general manager assistant?" Cecilia said.

"I'm mainly handling group business," Dashiell explained.

"That's good." Cecilia nodded.

She had known about Dashiell joining Everhart Bank for a while, and they had plans to collaborate.

She got straight to the point, "The Kingsley Group has been working on their international e-commerce channels recently, which should cost a lot of money."

"You mean they'll seek a loan from Everhart Bank," Dashiell said.

"Yeah, Everhart Bank and the Kingsley Group have a close relationship. Most of the Kingsley Group's project loans come from Everhart Bank. Can you check how much the Kingsley Group currently owes Everhart Bank? I want to calculate their assets and see if we can make them go bankrupt this time!"

"Okay," Dashiell agreed without hesitation. "Is it urgent?"

"Can you do it in three days?" Cecilia asked.

"No problem."

"Thanks."

"You're welcome," Dashiell said. "It's not just our friendship, but also because of Alaric, that I'll support you completely."
