Chapter 816 The Schemes
Seraphina knocked on the door.
There was no response from inside.
Seraphina frowned and checked the time. It wasn't even the end of the workday yet.
She gritted her teeth and pushed the door open.
Sure enough, the large office was empty.
So Dashiell had left early. How unusual.
Well, it's good that he's gone.
She could delay her report until tomorrow.
There were still a ton of things she hadn't dealt with today, all her time had been spent preparing the report for him.
Thinking this, Seraphina turned to leave.
She seemed to hear a faint sound from the office cubicle.
She stopped in her tracks.
At that moment, she told herself she should leave.
She shouldn't pry into other people's privacy.
But she couldn't control her body, and before she knew it, she was at the door of Dashiell's cubicle.
A female voice came from inside, "Mr. Montgomery, are you done?"
The voice seemed a bit hurried.
That kind of panting, Seraphina had heard it too many times.
In the days without a man, couldn't she watch some porn to pass the time?
Her heart suddenly ached.
Standing at the door, she couldn't move her feet.
"Softer, it hurts..." The voice had a pleading, crying tone.
It was the most common trick women used in the porn she had watched.
It would make men feel a stronger sense of possession, driving them even crazier.
Seraphina's body, holding the laptop, was trembling.
Dashiell, such a reserved man.
Could he be so impatient?
Having sex in the office?
Seraphina really wanted to push that door open.
Push it open and see how passionate Dashiell and Natalia were inside.
If she saw it, maybe she would give up completely.
If she saw it, maybe it wouldn't hurt so much.
After all, if the pain became numb, she wouldn't feel it anymore.
However, her outstretched hand retracted.
She didn't have the courage.
She didn't dare to see Dashiell naked and entangled with another woman. Just thinking about that scene made her collapse.
She would rather deceive herself.
Seraphina pretended to know nothing and left in a hurry.
Her hurried steps almost tripped her.
The office door closed behind her.
At the same time, the cubicle door opened.
Natalia walked out.
Still wearing her fitted secretary uniform, with a cold smile on her lips.
Dashiell had left long ago.
She didn't know what he had to do today, but he left shortly after starting work in the afternoon.
After Dashiell left, she had no motivation to work, so she went to Dashiell's office to tidy up, not wanting to do anything else. When she heard the knock on the office door, she knew it was Seraphina coming to report.
Then she put on that little act.
Making Seraphina heartbroken and retreat.
It seemed to have worked.
From now on, Seraphina shouldn't have any improper thoughts about Dashiell.
Natalia smiled smugly again.
The man she wanted, she would definitely get!
Dashiell went to Cecilia's villa.
Some things are better communicated face-to-face.
He said, "I'll post the video online, it won't be taken down for at least two hours."
"That's enough." Cecilia nodded.
Two hours, with the speed of the internet, was more than enough to make it widely known.
"Are you sending someone to do an exclusive interview with Lyra tomorrow?" Dashiell confirmed Cecilia's plan.
"Yes. The most authoritative magazine in the country." Cecilia added.
"Okay, I've already contacted them. The editor-in-chief will personally interview Lyra, and I'll have someone release the behind-the-scenes footage." Dashiell said.
He really admired the way women could exact revenge, doing whatever it took to ruin the other person!
"I'll check with Lyra later to see if she's willing to do the interview."
"She will be." Cecilia was very sure, "She can't wait to be admired by the world, to highlight her glory. She'll be very willing to be interviewed by such an authoritative magazine."
Dashiell nodded.
Cecilia had calculated Lyra's thoughts to the extreme.
"Alright, I'll organize some reporters to watch the show tomorrow." Dashiell said, "You can just watch the news then."
"Thank you."
"Actually, I should thank you." Dashiell said.
Cecilia frowned.
Dashiell pursed his lips, "You'll understand in the future."
Cecilia didn't ask further.
Some things, if Dashiell wanted to say, he would. If not, it didn't matter.
She just needed to live her own life.
"Then I'll go prepare." Dashiell stood up to leave.
Cecilia didn't try to stop him.
"By the way, Alaric should be back in about a week." Dashiell said.
Cecilia looked at him.
"I was just mentioning his schedule, nothing else. I didn't tell him about today's events."
"Okay." Cecilia was indifferent.
Dashiell didn't say more.
He left the villa.
While driving, he received a call from Magnolia, "Mom."
"Working late today?" Magnolia asked.
She knew he was very busy.
"Just today, I'm not working late." Dashiell said.
It was already the end of the workday, and he had some things to handle, so he didn't plan to go back to Everhart Bank.
"Then have dinner with me tonight. I haven't seen you in a long time." Magnolia said.
Dashiell thought for a moment, "Okay."
"Thinking about it, dinner won't take too much time." He said, "Where are you? I'm driving, I'll come pick you up."
"I'm at the hospital, come over."
"Is Mr. Everhart feeling better?" Dashiell asked.
"If he were better, I wouldn't be going to the hospital every day."
Dashiell didn't say more.
"Alright, drive safely. Come over."
"Okay."
Dashiell hung up the phone.
Magnolia put down her phone and dialed another number, "Seraphina?"
Magnolia.
Why was she calling her? What was her scheme?
"Have dinner with me tonight." Magnolia suddenly said.
"I'm at work."
"Then don't work."
"You're so bossy." Seraphina was angry.
She was almost driven mad by Dashiell today.
Now Magnolia was here to upset her too.
"I've been taking care of Atticus for so long, shouldn't you treat me to a meal?" Magnolia said righteously.
Seraphina was really frustrated.
But Magnolia had put it that way, she couldn't refuse, "What do you want to eat?"
"SkyRevolve Restaurant."
Magnolia always chose the most expensive places, "Fine."
"7 o'clock, don't be late."
"Got it." Seraphina said impatiently.
She hung up the phone, not in the mood to work anymore.
To be precise, she had been in a state of collapse all afternoon.
She hadn't done anything.
She got up to go to the bathroom to fix her makeup.
She always felt she couldn't look too bad in front of Magnolia.
However, when she saw herself in the mirror, she was shocked.
Her eyes were red and swollen. How could she face anyone like this?
