Chapter 192 Trouble (3) Alaric Won't Come Back for You

Cecilia's silence made Rebecca's face darken for a moment, but she quickly masked it with indifference. To Rebecca, Cecilia was just a helpless rabbit now. One word from her, and Cecilia could be gone.

Rebecca thought about all the humiliation Cecilia had put her through. Now, she could finally get her revenge without holding back. The cruel smile on Rebecca's lips made Cecilia's heart race. She knew exactly what Rebecca intended to do.

Trying to stay calm, Cecilia asked, "Rebecca, what do you want?"

Rebecca sneered, "Why do you think I brought you to this deserted place? I want to kill you secretly!"

Cecilia swallowed hard, trying to keep her voice steady. "In the Yakurosean Empire, murder is punishable by death."

"That's why it has to be a secret," Rebecca replied.

"Why go this far?" Cecilia questioned. "It's just business competition. I won this round, but you might win the next. Is it worth the risk? If someone finds out, you won't survive either."

Rebecca laughed sarcastically. "You humiliated me and stole Alaric. You think that's a small matter? Being too high-profile can get you killed!"

Cecilia tried to reason with her. "This won't benefit either of us. I admit I embarrassed you, but now I'm hurt. Let's call it even."

Rebecca wasn't convinced. "If I let you go, you'll call the police or tell Alaric. I can't risk that."

"I won't call the police or tell Alaric," Cecilia insisted.

"I only believe dead people," Rebecca replied coldly.

Cecilia was speechless. Rebecca continued, "I could tolerate everything else. You made me sign a bad deal, embarrassed me at the Harmony Threads launch, and exposed Wendy's scandal. But do you know what I can't accept?"

Cecilia knew. It was Alaric.

Rebecca confirmed it. "No one but me has the right to have Alaric."

"Even if you kill me, Alaric won't be yours," Cecilia said confidently.

Rebecca's face turned icy. Cecilia continued, "You and Alaric have been together for years. If he wanted to be with you, it would have happened already. The fact that he's with me means he has no feelings for you."

Rebecca slapped Cecilia hard across the face. Cecilia, already weak, collapsed to the ground. It took her a moment to regain her senses. Seeing Cecilia so helpless, Rebecca's smile grew even more malicious. She squatted down, grabbed Cecilia's chin, and forced her to look at her.

"Does Alaric like your face?" Rebecca sneered.

Cecilia's eyes showed panic.

"What if I ruin your face with a knife? Will Alaric still like you?" Rebecca taunted.

"Rebecca, aren't you afraid?" Cecilia's eyes narrowed, a fierce aura suddenly emanating from her.

Rebecca glared at her with hatred. Even if she felt a moment of fear, she couldn't show it. Cecilia was just bluffing.

"Do you really think Alaric won't find out you killed me? Once he finds out, he will definitely avenge me." Cecilia threatened.

"He won't find out," Rebecca said firmly. "Alaric's in Astralton City. By the time he knows, I'll be back there. Everyone thinks I'm already in Astralton City. I've covered my tracks. Even if he suspects, he won't find evidence. I've been with Alaric for years. Do you think I don't know how to handle this? If I didn't, I'd be dead by now."

Cecilia looked at Rebecca's arrogant demeanor. It was clear Rebecca had planned this for a long time.

Rebecca said proudly, noticing Cecilia's confusion. "I wanted to kill you the day you married Alaric. But I thought it was too easy, so I decided to teach you a lesson first. I didn't expect to end up in this state because of you. But no matter how capable you are, you're still my defeated opponent!"

"Have you really not considered the consequences?" Cecilia asked.

"There are no consequences!" Rebecca replied bluntly.

"What if I told you I had already informed Alaric before anything happened?" Cecilia said coldly.

Rebecca was stunned for a second, then laughed. "Do you think I'll believe that?"

"Believe it or not..."

"Even if it's true, it doesn't matter," Rebecca interrupted.

Cecilia's face changed slightly.

"Even if Alaric knows, he won't come back for you. Compared to what he's doing in Astralton City, you're worthless," Rebecca said confidently.

It seemed Rebecca wasn't bluffing. What exactly was Alaric doing in Astralton City that was so important?
