Chapter 148 Cecilia, Kiss Me

She struggled to recall the last time she had felt love for Dominic. For so long, all she had experienced was pure, unadulterated hatred.

Cecilia glanced at Alaric, her gaze distant.

She couldn't tell if her feelings for him were real or just a fleeting moment of emotion.

Either way, it didn't matter much to her.

She admitted that what Dashiell had said had really shaken her.

She wanted to throw caution to the wind and start something real with Alaric.

When she saw him covered in wounds, she wondered if she should trust him again.

Alaric was different from Dominic.

Dominic wouldn't risk his life for her. He wouldn't even pretend to. But Alaric almost died for her.

In the end, she still hesitated.

The more she cared, the more she feared.

The more serious she was, the more cautious she became.

She wasn't that naive girl who would do anything for love anymore.

She had more important things than feelings.

So, the only thing she could give Alaric was time.

Time might change a lot, even her feelings.

Maybe oneday, she would be willing to be a real couple with Alaric.

Maybe then, there would be no interests or grudges between them, only deep love.

Cecilia slowly controlled her emotions. She held back her tears and gradually calmed down.

She could handle her feelings with ease now, no longer troubled by them.

"It's late, you should get some sleep. If you feel uncomfortable, call me. I'll be sleeping on the bed next to you," she said.

Cecilia felt that was enough.

They had made a promise to each other, though it wasn't really a promise.

The future would be left to fate.

After saying that, Cecilia turned to leave.

"Cecilia," Alaric suddenly called out to her.

She turned back to look at him.

"You just said you didn't know how to repay me?" Alaric asked.

Cecilia was clearly a bit surprised.

Didn't she just say it? She had already said to give her time to settle her feelings.

At least she wouldn't deliberately reject or strongly oppose developing feelings for him.

What more did Alaric want?

"Kiss me," Alaric suddenly said.

Cecilia's eyes widened.

She shouldn't have expected too much from Alaric?

While she was seriously talking about feelings with him, he was thinking about how to make love to her.

She just stared at Alaric.

"Believe me, Cecilia, no man can refuse the kiss from the woman he likes," Alaric said seriously. "And I want to feel your warmth after surviving a disaster... mm."

At that moment, Alaric's eyes widened.

He did want to kiss her, anytime, anywhere.

And at this moment, he couldn't deny he wanted it even more.

No one knew how panicked he was when he knew she was in danger.

At this moment, it wasn't that he wanted her warmth after surviving a disaster, but that he wanted to feel her presence.

He was really afraid she would suddenly disappear from his world.

It was as if he had once experienced unimaginable pain before.

He always felt he never wanted to go through it again.

Had he really experienced it? Alaric was very confused.

So he just wanted to deeply feel Cecilia's presence.

With her sweetest kiss, she let him know she was still alive and by his side.

His throat tightened, overwhelmed by Cecilia's kiss.

He hadn't expected to persuade her, nor for her to kiss him so deeply.

He was at a loss, letting Cecilia kiss him eagerly.

Cecilia didn't know why she impulsively kissed him, but she did, and passionately.

She was actually a bit angry, kissing him with defiance.

She thought, 'It won't hurt.'

She could be a bit generous to her savior.

But when she touched his lips, she found it harder to control than she thought.

Her tongue slipped into Alaric's mouth.

When she realized it, she was startled.

She tried to pull away.

But her head was suddenly held tightly.

Cecilia looked at Alaric intently.

She was trapped by him, unable to leave, their lips still locked.

She wasn't thinking about the kiss, but how Alaric, despite being so injured, could still make such a move.

The resistance in her eyes gradually melted away.

It was the first time she knew Alaric could be so gentle. Unlike his usual dominance, his lips on hers were gentle, gradually deepening.

Their kiss lasted a long time, and it was Alaric who ended it.

At that moment, Cecilia even felt a bit unsatisfied.

She looked at Alaric with misty eyes, watching him suddenly stop.

"Cecilia, you're driving me crazy," Alaric's hoarse voice reminded her.

She snapped back to reality.

She had actually lost herself in Alaric's kiss.

She quickly got up, gasping for air.

Alaric was indeed a great kisser.

She thought that if Alaric's body wasn't in such bad shape, she might have really ended up sleeping with him tonight under his seduction.

The more she thought about it, the redder her face became.

She felt like she was burning up.

At that moment, she heard Alaric's hoarse voice. "If you wanted more, I can try to get up and..."

"Shut up!" Cecilia shouted at him.

She didn't want to hear another word.

Alaric laughed.

His face was so injured, yet he still had the nerve to laugh.

Cecilia thought, 'Does he even realize how scary he looks when he laughs?'

"I'm going to sleep!" she said angrily, heading straight to the bed next to him.

Alaric watched her angry expression, watched her cover herself with the blanket and wrap herself up like a cocoon.

"Aren't you afraid of suffocating yourself?" Alaric asked.

"Go to sleep," Cecilia said loudly from under the blanket.

"I'll sleep if you show your face," Alaric said.

"No," she refused.

"I've seen every part of you, what are you shy about?" Alaric laughed.

"Alaric!" Cecilia suddenly popped out from under the blanket, her face red, and asked, "Did you peek at me?"

"I didn't peek," Alaric laughed. "I looked openly."

Then he added, "Rest assured, you look perfect."

Cecilia thought, 'Alaric is really a bastard!'
