Chapter 533 Meeting Alaric (3) Finally Reunited

Dominic chuckled.

He eyed the blood-red mark on Cecilia's neck with a smug grin and said, "Cecilia, what do you think Alaric will do when he sees this?"

"So, is this enough?" Cecilia asked, keeping her cool.

Dominic knew she was just holding it together.

Making Cecilia suffer gave him a twisted sense of joy.

He stepped closer, invading her space, and started searching her.

Cecilia clenched her teeth.

She knew Dominic was checking if she had anything hidden, like a camera or a recording device.

After a bit, Dominic let her go. Satisfied she had nothing on her, he turned and unlocked the door with the key.

Cecilia bent down to pick up the clothes she had just taken off the floor.

Just as she was about to put them on, Dominic kicked them away. "If you put those on, how will Alaric see the bite mark on your body?"

Cecilia gritted her teeth, saying, "It's cold!"

"Cold?" Dominic laughed.

He picked up the coat from the ground, checked it again for anything hidden, then took out the phone from the coat pocket and threw it on the ground. He tossed the coat back to Cecilia. "Put it on!"

Cecilia glared at Dominic before putting her coat back on.

She didn't want Alaric to see her in too much of a mess.

The door finally opened.

Inside the windowless prison, on a hard bed, Alaric was leaning against the wall, his face blank. Even when the door opened, he didn't turn to look.

Cecilia's eyes suddenly welled up when she saw him.

She bit her lip hard, trying not to cry out loud.

She had thought Alaric might be very depressed and sloppy.

But she hadn't expected Alaric to be this thin.

It had only been a month, and his face looked like just skin stretched over his sharp features. His clothes hung loosely on his frame.

And there he sat, his eyes empty, like he wasn't even in this world.

"What, finally meeting and not saying a word?" Dominic taunted, seeing Cecilia's breaking state.

Cecilia's throat tightened.

At that moment, Alaric heard Dominic's voice and turned his head.

As soon as he turned, he saw Cecilia.

Their eyes met, and Cecilia's eyes instantly turned red, tears streaming uncontrollably.

She didn't want to cry, fearing that if she did, it would only make Alaric feel even worse.

But she really hadn't expected Alaric to become like this.

The once high and mighty Alaric who spent money like water, was now in such a dire situation in such a cold and broken place.

"Don't cry," Alaric said.

His voice was so hoarse it was almost inaudible.

Cecilia's tears fell even harder.

Alaric got off the hard bed, walking over step by step.

Cecilia just watched him, getting closer to her.

She really wanted to throw herself into Alaric's arms to warm him, feeling that he was cold all over.

Suddenly, a loud noise startled Cecilia.

She glared at Dominic, who, just as Alaric was getting close, suddenly kicked Alaric hard in the abdomen.

She didn't know how much force he used.

Alaric hit the ground hard after Dominic's kick.

He coughed violently, like something inside him had been seriously hurt. He tried to hold it in, but eventually, he coughed up blood.

"Alaric!" Cecilia was terrified.

How could he be coughing up blood?

Just as she was about to rush over, Dominic grabbed her, stopping her in her tracks.

"Let go of me!" Cecilia shouted.

"Shout one more time, and I'll kick him to death," Dominic threatened.

Cecilia glared at Dominic with pure rage.

She wished she could stab him right now, just like he had metaphorically stabbed her back then.

"I'm fine," Alaric's calm voice broke through.

He got up from the ground.

How could someone as tall as him be knocked down by Dominic?

In her memories, Alaric was always so strong.

What had he gone through to become so weak and fragile?

Cecilia tried to calm herself.

She knew that the more she lost control, the more Dominic would enjoy it and the more games he would play.

Seeing her calm down, Dominic smirked, "Alright, I'll give you five minutes."

Cecilia glared at him.

"Time starts now!" Dominic said coldly, but showed no intention of leaving.

Cecilia had expected that Dominic wouldn't let them meet alone.

She didn't waste any time and looked straight at Alaric.

As she looked, her eyes welled up again.

She lowered her head slightly and asked, "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," Alaric replied.

"I will help you find evidence," Cecilia said. "I know you wouldn't do such a thing."

Alaric smiled.

He didn't directly respond to her, nor did he give her a reassuring look.

Dominic was watching closely from the side.

He wanted to know if there was any chance Alaric's crime could be cleared.

Alaric suddenly said, "Cecilia, it's almost New Year."

Cecilia paused, then nodded slowly.

She really didn't want their first New Year together to be like this.

"After the New Year, it's my birthday," Alaric said softly.

"Yeah." Cecilia remembered clearly that Alaric's birthday was on January 18th.

"I thought I would spend my birthday with you," Alaric trailed off.

Cecilia's eyes turned completely red.

Seeing Alaric like this, she couldn't imagine him spending his birthday alone in prison.

"I'm sorry for disappointing you," Alaric suddenly apologized.

Cecilia shook her head, kept shaking her head.

How could she be disappointed?

If she hadn't met him, she might never have had the courage to love anyone again.

She was so grateful that in this life, besides seeking revenge, she could also find love again.

She was so grateful that her life in this lifetime was so perfect.

With tears streaming down her face, she said, "Alaric, no matter how long it takes, I'll wait for you."

It meant that even if he was sentenced, she would wait for him to come out.

Alaric said in a gentle voice, "If that day really comes, forget me and love yourself well."
