Chapter 150 Men Are Indeed All Bastards!

Seraphina, feeling annoyed, headed downstairs for some water.

She was too excited that night because Sebastian had proposed at the party, and she had drunk quite a bit. She wasn't drunk, but alcohol always made her thirsty.

If she hadn't been thirsty, she wouldn't have run into Dashiell.

She really didn't want to see him at all.

Luckily, when she and Sebastian parted ways that night, he told her he had already picked a wedding date: the 22nd of next month. He said it would be perfect for them to get married on that day.

Of course, she agreed immediately.

From the night of the 22nd next month, she would no longer have to live under the same roof as Dashiell!

Upstairs.

Dashiell had just returned to his room.

There was a knock on his door.

He opened it, not expecting it to be Seraphina, and it couldn't possibly be her.

He just looked at Magnolia standing at the door, a faint smile on his lips. "Mom, why are you still up so late?"

"How's Alaric?" Magnolia asked.

She seemed to have received the news about Alaric's car accident.

"He's not in any danger, just a minor fracture. He's staying in the hospital for a couple of days to be monitored for a concussion. If everything's fine, he can be discharged."

"What exactly happened?" Magnolia couldn't help but ask.

"Nothing much, just a car accident."

"Dashiell." Magnolia's face darkened.

"Yes, it was because of Cecilia." Dashiell knew he couldn't hide it.

Magnolia was visibly shocked.

"Mom, Alaric knows what he's doing. Don't worry too much. Besides, if he's willing to risk his life for this woman, she must be worth saving." Dashiell spoke well of Cecilia.

"Of course, I know that," Magnolia said bluntly. "I wouldn't want to pressure Alaric into anything. If Alaric really likes Cecilia, then I'm happy for them."

"Yeah." Dashiell smiled lightly. He agreed with Magnolia's perspective.

"And you?" Magnolia turned her attention to him. "Seraphina was proposed to tonight. How are you?"

Most of the time, Magnolia didn't actively show concern for Dashiell; she was even somewhat cold towards him.

However, every parent cared about their child.

"I'm fine." Dashiell's expression didn't change.

Magnolia's eyes were clearly scrutinizing him.

"Don't worry, I'm not so heartbroken that I have suicidal thoughts. I'm not as fragile as you think. Since I chose to come back, I was prepared for everything," Dashiell explained.

Magnolia sighed helplessly. She said, "Seraphina doesn't deserve you."

Dashiell didn't respond.

Magnolia didn't say more either. "Get some rest."

"Goodnight." Dashiell smiled slightly.

Magnolia left.

Dashiell watched her back. He closed the door, and the smile on his face gradually faded.

He believed that one day, everything would become history, and he would move on.

The Next Day.

When Cecilia opened her eyes, she was still a bit groggy. It took her a while to remember that Alaric had a severe car accident last night because of her.

She quickly got out of bed and saw Alaric still seemingly asleep on the hospital bed.

Seeing him still by her side, she didn't know why she suddenly felt relieved.

She glanced at the clock; it was 8 AM.

They had crashed around 3 AM, so they’d barely gotten five hours of sleep, yet here she was, wide awake.

Now that she was up, she couldn't fall back asleep. She just quietly watched Alaric, who was still out cold.

Cecilia studied his handsome face. In the daylight, the scars on his face were pretty noticeable. If they left permanent marks, it would be a shame for such a good-looking guy.

"Am I that handsome?" Alaric, still with his eyes closed, suddenly spoke.

Cecilia jumped. She quickly turned her head, feeling inexplicably guilty.

She hadn't done anything wrong, really.

She was just looking at the scars on Alaric's face. What was there to feel guilty about?

Besides, did Alaric have a third eye or something?

Both his eyes were closed, yet he could still tell she was staring at him?

"Come here," Alaric called her.

"I'm not fully awake yet," Cecilia refused.

"Come here and help me up," Alaric said. "I need to go to the bathroom."

Cecilia hesitated.

Alaric added, "I can't get up by myself. You don't expect me to pee in bed, do you?"

Cecilia sighed and gave in.

She got out of bed and walked over to help him without even checking her own appearance.

She was just trying to be helpful, especially since Alaric was injured because of her.

"Didn't the doctor give you a catheter?" Cecilia asked as she bent down to help him.

At that moment, she noticed Alaric's strange look.

She followed his gaze to her chest.

"Ah!" Cecilia suddenly let go of Alaric and covered her chest.

"What are you looking at?" Cecilia turned her back to Alaric, feeling furious.

When the accident happened, they were leaving a party, both dressed in formal attire.

They had spent the whole night at the hospital, and it wasn't convenient to shower or change clothes. She hadn't thought about changing out of her dress. After a night's sleep, her already revealing dress had slipped even lower, exposing a deep cleavage.

So Alaric had seen her cleavage just now.

"Gorgeous," Alaric said with a hint of amusement in his voice.

She was furious. How could Alaric still be in the mood for making comments?

Cecilia angrily walked to the wardrobe in the hospital room and found a set of patient clothes. She thought this outfit would be more modest than her dress. Without thinking, she rushed into the bathroom. Seeing her disheveled appearance in the mirror, with makeup smudged all over, she wondered how Alaric hadn't been scared by her.

She decided to take a shower.

She completely forgot about Alaric needing to use the bathroom.

When she came out feeling refreshed, she saw that Alaric was almost at his limit.

She thought he was about to explode.

Cecilia couldn't help but laugh.

If he had been a bit more gentlemanly and reminded her that her dress was inappropriate, she wouldn't have been so embarrassed that she had to take a shower. She would have just adjusted her dress.

She walked up to Alaric and bluntly asked, "Did you pee? Do you need me to call a nurse to change the sheets?"

Alaric looked at Cecilia with a mockery smile.

He said, "You can feel it and find out."

Cecilia angrily thought, 'Men are indeed all bastards!'
