Chapter 116 Cecilia, I Absolutely Love Your Sense of Justice

Cecilia still couldn't hold back her tears.

In her previous life, she never truly cried, even at the moment of her death. She always forced herself to endure. At this moment, she didn't know why she felt so wronged, just that the pain was unbearable.

"If you keep crying, I'll kiss you." Alaric seemed to be at his wit's end.

He started to threaten her.

He had a fierce look on his face.

Cecilia's tears flowed even more.

Alaric was completely flustered.

He held Cecilia'shand and said, "How about I let you hit me?"

Cecilia pulled her hand out of Alaric's palm.

"How long are you going to keep crying?" Alaric reached out to wipe her tears continuously.

"I just kissed you a few times, it's not like I'm not taking responsibility. Why are you crying?" Alaric was really on the verge of breaking down.

Why was Cecilia so hard to console?

He couldn't help but get a little irritable.

He was angry at himself for not knowing how to comfort her.

"I don't ask you to take responsibility." Cecilia choked out.

At that moment, she finally managed to control her tears a bit.

Seeing Cecilia calm down a little, Alaric breathed a slight sigh of relief.

"Have you never comforted a woman before?" Cecilia asked, trying to control her emotions.

He really didn't know how to console people!

"What do you think?" Alaric replied irritably.

Cecilia asked, "Don't you have to comfort all those women?"

"No."

Cecilia was skeptical.

Alaric seemed unwilling to continue on this topic, so he changed the subject. "Are you done crying now?"

Cecilia was still a bit embarrassed.

She wasn't even that familiar with Alaric, and she didn't know why she cried like a fool in front of him.

It was as if she wanted to vent all the grievances from her past and present lives; she cried so desperately.

"If you're done crying, let's talk about what happened with Dominic tonight," Alaric suddenly looked serious.

Cecilia pursed her lips.

She knew she had been a bit foolish tonight.

Actually, it wasn't that she hadn't anticipated this outcome; she went there herself to test Dominic's limits!

It seemed Dominic wasn't as difficult to deal with as she thought.

He quickly dropped all his pretenses in front of her.

"What's there to talk about?" Cecilia said flatly.

Next time, she would break Dominic's legs!

"Do you understand what kind of person Dominic is now?" Alaric raised an eyebrow.

"Of course I do," Cecilia said through gritted teeth.

"So, from now on, will you stay away from Dominic?"

Cecilia looked at Alaric. "There won't be a next time."

She would never let Dominic get close to her again.

"What if there is?" Alaric was clearly pressing her.

"What are you trying to say?" Cecilia's face darkened.

"Augustus Harrington," Alaric said, his lips barely moving, "9th-degree black belt in Taekwondo, last year's national boxing champion."

Cecilia frowned.

Sometimes she really couldn't understand Alaric.

"From now on, he will be your personal bodyguard," Alaric said.

His words still surprised Cecilia.

So, Alaric said all this just to give her a bodyguard to protect her.

Cecilia's heart felt a strange flutter.

"If Dominic failed this time, there will be a next time. I don't think I can always show up so timely," Alaric said with a very serious expression, his demeanor leaving no room for refusal. "And I don't want anything happening to you to ruin our relationship. Our cooperative relationship."

Cecilia suddenly understood.

The reason Alaric made such arrangements was that if she slept with Dominic, it would mean he was being cheated on. Regardless of their actual relationship, no man could accept being cheated on; it was a matter of pride. More importantly, they were currently in a mutually beneficial partnership. If she got back together with Dominic, it would mean the end of their deal.

Alaric had spent so much money on their wedding; if they parted ways in just a few days, he would probably regret it.

In summary, what happened between her and Dominic tonight did affect many of Alaric's interests, so he had a reason to be angry.

He had a reason to vent his anger on her.

Understanding this, Cecilia no longer refused. She said, "Okay, how much do I pay per month?"

Clearly, that slight flutter she felt earlier had disappeared.

Between her and Alaric, it should be all about business, not feelings.

"No need for money, just stay faithful to me," Alaric said seriously.

Cecilia was speechless.

Although Alaric said this for their mutual benefit, it still sounded somewhat ambiguous coming from him.

She nodded. "Okay."

"As a condition," Alaric's lips moved slightly.

Cecilia looked at him.

Alaric continued, "I will do the same."

Cecilia raised an eyebrow. "Can you do that?"

Alaric replied, "For you, I can."

She didn't force him. But for the sake of their better cooperation, if he could do that, it would naturally be better.

So, Cecilia didn't refuse.

She said, "It's late. I need to rest."

"Aren't you going to ask why I suddenly came back?" Alaric seemed a bit dissatisfied.

Sometimes Cecilia really thought Alaric was childish.

He must have his reasons for coming back suddenly; she wasn't interested.

"Because I thought you needed me," Alaric said, word by word.

Cecilia frowned.

"Isn't Isadora dead?" Alaric asked.

"I had no feelings for her," Cecilia said bluntly, "I'm not sad."

Alaric just looked at her.

He suddenly looked at her with a scrutinizing gaze.

Cecilia didn't hide anything. "Alaric, I'm not kind-hearted. I won't be merciful to those who are bad to me."

"Are you warning me about something?" Alaric looked at her.

With a scrutinizing gaze, he looked at Cecilia; she had really changed a lot.

If he remembered correctly, once, a puppy died in front of her, and she cried until she was out of breath. Now, a living person died, and she was so calm.

"I'm warning myself," Cecilia said word by word, "I must seek revenge."

Alaric asked, "Just because Dominic cheated, you hate him this much?"

"No," Cecilia replied, "The hatred between Dominic and me is irreconcilable!"

Alaric wondered if the Cecilia in front of him was still the Cecilia he remembered.

"Do you regret partnering with me?" Cecilia asked.

Was he starting to doubt because of her cold-bloodedness?

In fact, since she chose to partner with Alaric, she really hadn't thought about hiding anything from him.

If he couldn't accept it, she wouldn't force it.

"No," Alaric shook his head, his deep, magnetic voice said, "Cecilia, one day you'll know, I love your sense of justice!"
