Chapter 828 So, So Painful

Cecilia's proactive kiss made Alaric's heart race wildly.

He even felt that in the next second, his heart might leap out of his chest, or perhaps, he might die from the excitement.

He remained stiff, not daring to make any move.

He wondered if he was hallucinating.

How could Cecilia approach him voluntarily?

How could she kiss him voluntarily?

How could she?

Alaric's body trembled again.

He felt Cecilia's soft tongue slip into his lips and touch the tip of his tongue.

Alaric's mind went blank instantly.

All his senses were focused on their lips and tongues.

He had already prepared himself for Cecilia never letting him touch her again.

Every time Alaric saw her, he suppressed his body's reactions, but with her sudden initiative, all his persistence collapsed. He couldn't control his inner desire and hugged Cecilia, his large hand cradling the back of her head, deepening the sweet kiss.

The temperature in the room kept rising.

Everything around them seemed to disappear.

There were only him and Cecilia left in the world.

Alaric pushed Cecilia onto the bed.

He said, "I'll be careful."

Because she was pregnant.

Even if it tore him apart, he would be careful with her.

"It's okay," Cecilia said. "The doctor said it's still safe at six months."

In another month.

It wouldn't be safe anymore.

Even though Cecilia said so, Alaric still didn't dare to let himself go.

He was cautious.

"Alaric," Cecilia called to him, "After making love with you, will you let me go?"

All the passion at that moment.

It was like a bucket of cold water poured over him, drenching him completely.

Extinguishing all his passion.

Cecilia was that smart.

Smart enough to know how to torture him the most.

How to hurt someone to the extreme.

To her opponents too.

For example, Lyra, when she thought she was triumphant, Cecilia would give her a fatal blow.

It was the same with him.

When he was at the peak of excitement, she would pull him back from heaven to hell.

Alaric left Cecilia's body.

Cecilia knew.

Either Alaric would agree to her.

Or Alaric would stay away from her.

Sure enough, he chose the latter.

He said, "If making love with me is just to leave me, then I will never make love with you."

Never!

Alaric lifted the blanket and left.

Not just the bed.

He left the room entirely.

All the passion in the room dissipated.

What was left was the lingering, inescapable sadness.

Cecilia lay on the bed, tears streaming from the corners of her eyes.

She really wanted to ask Alaric.

It hurts so much, why can't we let each other go?

Do we really have to torture each other until we're old?

Outside the door.

Alaric didn't actually leave.

He just didn't want to scare Cecilia.

He just didn't want Cecilia to see him cry.

To see him hurt and vulnerable.

Alaric leaned against the door.

He slightly raised his head, and tears still flowed from the corners of his eyes.

He had thought countless times about letting Cecilia go, letting her choose a new life, letting her live freely.

But every time he had such a thought, his heart hurt so much he couldn't breathe.

He even wondered how he would live alone if Cecilia really left him.

So every time he had a moment of compromise, a voice kept telling him not to let go.

Don't let go.

"Alaric," a female voice suddenly sounded in his ear.

Alaric's throat moved slightly.

He rarely lacked such vigilance.

It was rare for someone to approach him without him knowing.

He covered his face with his hands.

Wiping away the tears from the corners of his eyes without a trace.

"Why are you outside the door? Did you argue with Cecilia?" Juniper asked softly.

She seemed so gentle.

Alaric put down his hands.

After putting them down, his face had returned to its original emotion.

So cold, so unapproachable.

Juniper felt a bit uncomfortable.

She couldn't sleep, maybe because of the unfamiliar environment, or maybe because she thought of Alaric and Cecilia sleeping in the same bed, she felt very unhappy and couldn't help but get up.

She didn't expect to see Alaric leaning against Cecilia's door when she opened her door.

Was Alaric crying?

She had never seen such a vulnerable side of Alaric.

She couldn't even imagine Alaric being vulnerable.

She always thought Alaric was so strong that nothing could defeat him.

And with such high vigilance, even when he was asleep, he would wake up if she approached him. How could he not notice her when she walked up to him?

If she hadn't called him.

Would he have known she was there?

And when she called him.

He hid all his emotions.

She never saw his most real side.

Were all his emotions only for Cecilia to see?

Juniper suppressed all kinds of emotions in her heart, but on the surface, she showed concern.

Alaric had returned to normal.

Juniper even doubted if she had hallucinated seeing Alaric just now.

She heard him say, "Why aren't you asleep?"

"Maybe because of the unfamiliar environment, I couldn't sleep," Juniper explained. "So I wanted to go out and get some water."

"It's late. I'll have George bring it to your room."

"No need, I can get it myself."

"Go back to your room," Alaric's tone was somewhat stern.

Juniper knew she couldn't disobey at this moment.

She immediately nodded obediently, "Okay. But Alaric, are you really okay?"

"I'm fine," Alaric replied.

"I think it's just a matter of time between you and Cecilia. Just like me back then, I really thought I couldn't hold on, but because of the child, I did. Becoming a mother naturally makes one stronger. When Cecilia has the baby, I believe her mindset will change a lot."

"Go to bed early," Alaric seemed ungrateful.

He even seemed to reject her kind advice.

Juniper endured the discomfort in her heart and smiled sweetly, "Then I'll go back to my room. You should rest early too."

Alaric didn't say anything.

He didn't show any expression either.

Juniper gritted her teeth secretly.

The more unapproachable Alaric was, the more she wanted to have him.

She had to have him!

After Juniper left.

Alaric turned and opened Cecilia's door again.

Inside the room.

Cecilia was asleep.

Seemingly asleep.

The faint light covered her thin cheeks, so soft and beautiful.
