Chapter 329 You Snuffed Out the Birth of Your Grandson

"Ms. Lockhart, don't you think my future looks bright now?" Alaric asked, his breath warm against Cecilia's face due to their close proximity.

Cecilia was trapped beneath him, with no chance to escape.

"As for your so-called pursuits... I'll do my best to fulfill you," Alaric said with deep affection.

She thought, 'When did this become my pursuit?'

She had just said those were his own pursuits.

How could he so brazenly twist the concept and leave her with no room to argue?

She glared at Alaric.

Alaric's lips curled up slightly. "Do you have any last wishes?"

"I'm not dying, what last wishes could I have?!"

She thought, 'Could Alaric speak properly?'

"After a while, Ms. Lockhart will no longer exist in my mind."

"You'll be the one who doesn't exist!" Cecilia retorted.

She thought, 'Was Alaric really trying to piss me off?'

She had barely survived; who would not want to exist!

She wanted to live a long life.

"From now on, it will be Mrs. Whitaker," Alaric suddenly said, word by word.

Cecilia was stunned by Alaric.

"If not, then I'll..." Alaric leaned closer to her cheek.

The rest of his words were only for them to hear.

Cecilia's whole body tensed.

She really felt that this time, she couldn't escape.

Rather than being unable to escape herself, she was acquiescing.

They were married, and she was in love with Alaric.

What reason did she have to reject his approach?

She closed her eyes, nervous as ever.

This wasn't her first experience, yet it was more intense than her actual first time; her heart raced and her nerves were tense.

"Alaric!" A knock on the door suddenly sounded from outside.

The two emotionally involved people just stared at each other. Obviously, they all carried some displeasure.

"Alaric." The knocking came again.

Alaric didn't move.

Cecilia pushed Alaric and said, "It's Arabella."

Anyone else would be fine.

But it was Alaric's mother, and she didn't dare offend her.

An evil mother-in-law could be terrifying, but she still had lingering fears.

So, if she could get along with Arabella, she would try her best to do so.

And she had to admit that Arabella and Octavia were incomparable.

"Alaric, are you still sleeping?" Arabella asked.

"Or are you feeling unwell? You never sleep in." Arabella sounded a bit agitated.

If Alaric didn't respond soon, Arabella might break down the door.

Cecilia pushed Alaric again.

Alaric finally got up and put on his clothes.

Cecilia also straightened her wrinkled clothes and got out of bed with Alaric.

Alaric opened the door, "Mom."

"Why did you take so long to open the door? Are you feeling unwell? You always let us worry. If I hadn't seen the news, I wouldn't have known you were in such trouble. You didn't even answer my calls properly." As soon as the door opened, Arabella started nagging.

She was probably still shaken by what had happened to Alaric.

It was understandable; every mother would be like that.

"I'm fine," Alaric said coldly.

It was a typical mother-son interaction. However, the parents were extremely concerned, while the son did not regard it seriously.

"If you were really in trouble, would I still see you?!" Arabella said angrily.

Alaric didn't respond.

Arabella glared at Alaric before noticing Cecilia standing behind him. Her expression softened, becoming kind and gentle. "Cecilia, are you okay? I saw on the news that you went to Lindwood too. Were you hurt?"

"No, Mom, I'm not hurt," Cecilia quickly replied.

"That's fine.But you look a bit tired."

"That's because you interrupted our sleep," Alaric interjected.

Arabella was taken aback and said, "It's already ten in the morning!"

"Is ten late for young people?" Alaric asked.

"You always wake up early."

"That's when there's no Cecilia."

Arabella didn't know what to say.

"Do you realize you just snuffed out the birth of your grandson?" Alaric added.

Arabella took a moment to react.

When she saw Cecilia's face turn red, she finally understood.

After a long pause, she smiled brightly. "Alright, it's my fault. You two go back to sleep. I'll wait in the living room. No rush. Sleep a bit more. Young people need torest; you'll have trouble sleeping when you're older."

With that, she left.

Arabella was clearly very happy.

Cecilia watched Arabella's back, then turned to Alaric.

She watched Alaric close the door.

"Next time," Cecilia refused, "let's take care of your mom first."

"There will be plenty of opportunities," Cecilia quickly said, "I'll go wash up first."

She rushed into the bathroom and closed the door.

Alaric sighed,

'Why was it so hard to make love to his honey!'

Cecilia and Alaric got dressed and went downstairs.

Besides Arabella, Emily was also there.

Despite Emily's failed attempt to harm her previously, and despite the slap, Cecilia still felt uneasy in her presence.

"Done sleeping so soon?" Arabella asked.

She seemed genuinely surprised.

That question was really ambiguous.

Cecilia's face turned red again.

"We're not sleeping anymore. You came, so how could we sleep?"

"You..." Arabella was a bit angry. "I didn't mean to interrupt. Who knew you liked mornings..."

Cecilia was blushing.

She thought, 'Could these two speak less blatantly?'

She wondered if Alaric's personality came from Arabella.

"Like mornings for what?" Emily asked innocently.

Emily looked like a sweet, innocent bunny.

Even though her malicious nature had been exposed, she still managed to seem harmless.

"Nothing," Arabella quickly said, "You said you were worried about Alaric and wanted to check on him?"

"Yes," Emily smiled sweetly, "I saw on the news that Alaric encountered a criminal gang and got hurt, so I wanted to check on him. But I was afraid Cecilia wouldn't like me because of what happened before, so..."

Emily's smile gradually faded.

She really should have been an actress.
