Chapter 452 The Collaboration Between Cecilia and Dashiell

Three days later, Dashiell hit up Cecilia with a call.

"The Kingsley Group just mortgaged 30% of their shares at Everhart Bank and snagged a loan worth hundreds of millions. It's due next March. With how things are going for them, they gotta make bank by then or Everhart's gonna come knocking for their money or those shares," he said.

"So, the Kingsley Group's sweating bullets right now," Cecilia chimed in. "Their revenue's tanking this year, and they're bleeding cash left and right."

"Exactly," Dashiell nodded. "This international e-commerce gig is their lifeline. They're gonna throw everything at it. If they flop, they're toast. Bankruptcy's knocking on their door."

Cecilia nodded, totally on board with Dashiell's take. She was kinda blown away. She thought Dashiell was clueless about business, but the dude knew his stuff.

"I wanna take down the Kingsley Group. All I gotta do is tank their e-commerce plan." Cecilia concluded.

"Pretty much," Dashiell agreed. "Oh, and get this. The Kingsley Group's broke, but they're fronting like they're gonna drop a billion on this e-commerce thing. If they really wanna go global, a billion's not even a stretch. So, they're gonna be begging banks for more loans. But they've already mortgaged 35% of their shares. Nathaniel's only got 75% left. If he mortgages more, he's under 50%, and that's risky. Knowing Nathaniel, he won't go there."

"So, what's your point?" Cecilia raised an eyebrow.

"Dominic might go shady," Dashiell said.

"You mean, like, illegal stuff?" Cecilia guessed.

"Yep," Dashiell confirmed. "And here's why. While investigating their loan at Everhart Bank, I discovered who's handling it. Guess who?"

Dashiell was building the suspense.

Cecilia's eyes narrowed. "Sebastian?"

"Yep." Dashiell nodded.

Cecilia's heart skipped a beat. In her past life, they didn't seem to be in cahoots. Dominic used to look down on Sebastian, didn't even bother with him.

"Remember Seraphina's car accident?" Dashiell said. "It was super fishy."

Cecilia's eyes widened. "I always thought it was Sebastian, but since you wanted to pair him with Seraphina, I let it slide. But now, it all points to Dominic!"

"From what I know about Sebastian, he's super cautious. Dude wouldn't risk anything unless he was sure he could pull it off. If he screws up, he's done for. So, causing Seraphina's car accident? That was a big gamble. No way he'd do it without some serious backup," Dashiell said.

"Dominic, that slimy snake!" Cecilia spat. "He wanted to get Sebastian on his side, so he pushed for Seraphina and Sebastian to hook up. That way, he could help Sebastian take over Everhart Bank. So sneaky!"

"Exactly," Dashiell nodded.

"I'll dig around and see if I can find any dirt on Dominic," Cecilia said.

"Don't bother," Dashiell cut in. "First off, we've missed the prime time. Any evidence is probably long gone. Second, even if we find something, Dominic won't take the fall. It's a waste of time. We should focus on this international e-commerce project instead."

"So, we wait for the right moment?" Cecilia raised an eyebrow.

"If Dominic's desperate, he'll push Sebastian to do something shady to get that loan from Everhart Bank. I'll make sure there's evidence left behind. If Dominic's caught with a fraudulent loan, Everhart will demand repayment. If he's already spent the money, it'll break the Kingsley Group's cash flow, pushing them towards bankruptcy," Dashiell explained.

Cecilia's lips curled into a smirk. "The Kingsley Group still owes the Lockhart Group two billion dollars. Even if they don't go bankrupt, they'll take a massive hit."

"Wait, they owe you two billion?" Dashiell was shocked.

"Yep," Cecilia sneered. "I've been waiting for this moment."

She'd set up the two-billion-dollar debt and the IOU just for this day, to strike when the Kingsley Group was at its weakest.

"Cecilia, you've been plotting this for a while," Dashiell said, a bit in awe.

He hadn't expected Cecilia to have laid such a big trap. She must've set it up before her relationship with Dominic went south, letting the Kingsley Group think they were untouchable, only to bring them down in one fell swoop.

"You have no idea how much I hate him!" Cecilia gritted her teeth.

"I know, you said you've reborn," Dashiell chuckled.

Cecilia paused. She almost forgot, in this world, only Dashiell knew her secret.

"So, I'm gonna make Dominic lose everything and be utterly disgraced," Cecilia said firmly.

"I can't wait for that day," Dashiell said with a smile.

"So, I'll leave the Everhart Bank stuff to you."

"Got it," Dashiell agreed and hung up.

Cecilia let out a sigh of relief. With Dashiell on her side, taking down Dominic felt like a walk in the park.
