Chapter 461 The Game (6)
"Cecilia!" Penelope's face went from zero to a hundred real quick.
Cecilia was straight-up mocking her.
Saying she was just bugging Dashiell, and Dashiell didn't give a damn about her.
She was so mad she was shaking like a leaf.
Thinking about Dashiell's rejection just made her blood boil even more.
Right now, she really wanted to slap Cecilia!
Cecilia didn't even give Penelope the time of day.
She treated her like she was nuts, acting all cool and indifferent.
She glanced at Dominic, her eyes dropping to the white bandage on his hand.
She smirked, pure contempt written all over her face.
Dominic's face turned dark, and he was about to say something.
"If you were any later, Mr. Tackett would've signed the contract with me," Cecilia said, acting all fake-nice.
"No way!" Penelope snapped, "Your crappy platform trying to compete with us? In your dreams! You think we don't know what Bill wants? They need scale, and only our Kingsley Group can give them that. You're just embarrassing yourself."
"If I had known, I wouldn't have given you the idea to do online business back then," Cecilia said.
"Stop tooting your own horn. The transition was Dominic's call. What does it have to do with you?" Penelope shot back.
Cecilia glanced at Dominic and didn't argue.
No one knew what she had done for Dominic and the Kingsley Family.
The e-commerce platform was her idea too.
It was her suggestion for Dominic to go the internet route and be the first to open up the market.
Now, she really regretted it.
Luckily, the Kingsley Family wasn't smart enough. With all those resources, they still messed it up.
She said, "Dominic knows who made the call. Whatever I say now, you'll think I'm lying. And I really don't want to waste time on irrelevant people. Please, don't block the way."
Cecilia's indifference and arrogance clearly pissed off the Kingsleys.
They still didn't get it.
They still didn't get how Cecilia suddenly became a different person, becoming uncontrollable and even a big threat.
Cecilia didn't bother with them anymore and walked straight into the elevator with Pierce and Rose.
The Kingsleys in the elevator stepped out.
Rose pressed the floor button.
As the elevator doors closed, Cecilia gave a mocking smile.
Dominic clenched his fists tightly.
One day, he would make sure Cecilia regretted it.
When they got back into the car, Rose couldn't help but say, "The Kingsley Family was so cocky just now. When they find out about Mr. Tackett's chosen cooperation model, they'll lose it."
"Lose it?" Cecilia looked at the scenery outside the window.
For a guy like Dominic, he had to be slowly tortured to death!
In the afternoon, Cecilia got a call from Bill, saying he had reached an agreement with the Kingsley Group and would sign the contract in the next two days.
Once Bill signed the contract with the Kingsley Group, he would sign a third-party contract with them.
Things were going just as she had planned.
Cecilia then called Dashiell, "Dashiell."
"What's up?" Dashiell asked.
"Bill has basically finalized the contract with the Kingsley Group. Keep an eye on the funds the Kingsley Group is borrowing from Everhart Bank, especially if the procedures are all legit."
"Okay." Dashiell nodded.
Cecilia hung up, ready to cash in on her plan.
A week later, the international e-commerce deal between the Kingsley Group and the Tackett Group was all over the news.
The Kingsley Group snagged the first international e-commerce project, making waves and grabbing tons of publicity.
Their stock shot up like a rocket.
This was hands down the best project the Kingsley Group had ever pulled off.
With Cecilia's extra ten years of experience, she knew this industry was a goldmine for the future.
In her past life, the Kingsley Group's success in e-commerce made them the second wealthiest family, just behind the Whitaker Group. They eventually bought out the Lockhart Group, becoming the top dogs, basking in glory!
Back then, the Kingsley Family ruled the business world. Except for a few slip-ups by Alaric, they were smooth sailing.
The Kingsley Family was the real deal.
People were either scared of them or kissing up to them.
Dominic felt like a king wherever he went.
But in this life, his luck had run out.
Cecilia got a call from Bill, inviting her to dinner.
The international e-commerce project was a done deal, and he was leaving early the next morning. Before he left, he wanted to have dinner with her and the Kingsley Family.
She brought Pierce along.
She had big plans for Pierce. Sooner or later, the Lockhart Group's heavy responsibilities would fall on her shoulders, and she needed help.
Pierce was her best bet so far, so she had high hopes for him.
Cecilia went all out with her look tonight.
She was already stunning, but with makeup, she was a knockout.
"Ms. Lockhart, your beauty sometimes makes people forget how capable you are," Pierce said, genuinely impressed.
In the Yakurosean Empire, it was rare to see a woman as beautiful as Cecilia.
Even celebrities didn't have her aura and presence.
"Did you forget?" Cecilia smiled coolly.
She wasn't going to hide her shine anymore.
In the past, because Dominic didn't like her being too dazzling, she always wore clothes that didn't suit her, earning her the title of a housewife with no taste or elegance.
"I wouldn't dare," Pierce quickly said.
"That's enough." Cecilia flicked her smooth hair with her hand.
She strutted confidently into the VIP room of the restaurant, her high heels clicking.
The staff opened the door.
As soon as she walked in, all eyes were on Cecilia.
She had this magic that made people stop and stare.
Not just men, even women couldn't resist.
Penelope glared at Cecilia, feeling both jealous and shocked, wondering how she could be here.
Wasn't this Bill's private dinner?
What right did Cecilia have to show up here so boldly with two people?
How shameless could she be?
Knowing that Bill had already signed the contract with them, she still showed up to come and mess things up!
