Chapter 35 Dangerous Alaric

"Isn't your fiancée here?" Alaric questioned.
Cecilia glared at Alaric, but he pretended not to notice.
Dominic refused. "Cecilia can't handle alcohol well."
"Is that so?" Alaric chuckled.
No one could tell what he found amusing.
Cecilia couldn't decipher Alaric's thoughts either.
She just felt that he was different from his casual demeanor.
"If Alaric doesn't mind, I can drink for Cecilia; I'll have two shots." Dominic offered bluntly.
"Since Dominic is so protective, I agree; cheers," Alaric said, downing his drink in one go.
Dominic did the same.
After one drink, he poured himself another, having two in total.
From then on, whenever someone wanted to drink with Cecilia, Dominic would drink on her behalf.
After Cassius and Seraphina sang for a while, they caught Alaric's gaze, put down the microphone, and went over to toast proactively.
They intended to get Dominic drunk.
Seraphina looked displeased at Cassius.
She was engrossed in her singing; why was he running around?
She had intended to pass the microphone to Sebastian, but considering Cassius's statement that couples who sing "Endless Love 2" would break up, although it was absurd, what if he were right?
At that moment.
Just as Seraphina was about to set the microphone down and stop singing.
A deep male voice began singing clearly.
"Crossing the boundaries of morality, we tread into the forbidden zone of love, enjoying the illusion of happiness, misunderstanding the meaning of joy." It was Dashiell singing.
Seraphina was momentarily stunned before responding, "As long as today doesn't end with love slipping through our fingers, saying goodbye tomorrow."
"Not enough time to love you properly," Dashiell sang.
"We should have stopped?" Seraphina suddenly stopped singing.
She didn't want to continue.
She handed the microphone directly to Juliana, saying, "You sing."
"I can't," Juliana quickly declined.
Isadora felt Seraphina's gaze, "I can't either."
Seraphina sighed.
She glanced at Sebastian.
Watching Sebastian sitting in the corner.
Due to their different upbringings, he couldn't quite fit in with the young generations of high society.
Having worked for a year now, he was slightly better, but he used to avoid such gatherings altogether.
Seraphina tossed the microphone onto the coffee table and went over to Sebastian.
She always worried that he wouldn't fit into such environments, so she paid extra attention to him.
Sebastian watched Seraphina return to his side, gave a faint smile, and naturally pulled her into his arms.
Dashiell glanced over at them, then continued singing as if nothing had happened.
Cassius returned after a drink and saw Dashiell singing alone.
Dashiell sang both the male and female parts.
He picked up the microphone and sang the female part for Dashiell.
This song really suited Dashiell.
Meanwhile, Dominic was being toasted one after another, each time taking Cecilia's share.
Although he had drunk quite a bit, Dominic enjoyed the compliments and didn't refuse anyone, drinking heartily.
As a result, Dominic soon appeared visibly drunk.
In a low voice, Dominic said to Cecilia, "I'm going to the restroom."
"Can you manage on your own?" Cecilia feigned concern.
Their intimacy was on full display for everyone to see.
Isadora was on the verge of jealousy.
If it weren't for the Lockhart family's assets being inherited by Cecilia's family, all the glory of the Lockhart family's heiress would have been hers, and she wouldn't feel like the lowest among these people, unable to show pride.
Not only was she unhappy tonight, but she knew her mother was also furious.
Angry that Genevieve suddenly became attractive, suddenly became the center of attention, and suddenly all the high society ladies were complimenting Genevieve. If the Lockhart family's assets had fallen into their hands, everything Genevieve possessed would belong to Vivienne, and everything Cecilia rightfully enjoyed should have been hers!
Isadora gritted her teeth.
She wanted nothing more than to step forward and separate Dominic and Cecilia immediately.
Fortunately, they only exchanged a few words of intimacy before Dominic stood up and left the private room directly.
Isadora hadn't reacted yet when she heard Juliana whisper in her ear, "Dominic has left."
She initially wanted to scold Juliana for stating the obvious, but in the next moment, she instantly understood Juliana's meaning.
She had to admit that although she found Juliana annoying and looked down on her, she was very attentive and cunning and could be somewhat helpful to her.
She quickly got up, seemingly unnoticed by everyone, and left the private room as well.
Cecilia witnessed the entire process.
After a while, Dominic returned.
He seemed much more sober.
Unfortunately, others began to toast him vigorously again.
Isadora returned much later with a suspicious flush on her face and a shy expression.
The young people in the private room continued drinking and singing.
The atmosphere was lively.
Cecilia watched as Dominic was being plied with drinks by Cassius, utterly oblivious to her presence.
She got up and left.
When Cecilia left, Dominic still hadn't noticed her.
Dominic was somewhat interested in befriending Cassius because of the unique status of the Blackburn family, and Dominic wanted to win him over.
Whenever Dominic wanted to do his own thing, he never seemed to notice her presence.
She walked out indifferently, waiting at the door for a while.
Alaric emerged.
Cecilia was waiting for him.
They walked together down the corridor.
Cecilia said, "I'll arrange for Isadora to take Dominic back later."
Alaric remained silent.
"When they leave, have Cassius arrange for someone to follow them."
"You're getting married in a month. Are you so sure Dominic will betray you?"
"I'm certain." His nature was just that terrible.
As long as Isadora made a move, Dominic would never refuse.
Clearly, tonight, Isadora had reached the peak of jealousy; she wouldn't stay passive.
"Since you're so sure, should I abandon the potion I had Cassius prepare?" Alaric said calmly.
"There is no need."
"Is it unnecessary, or is Ms. Lockhart setting herself up for regret?" Alaric's lips curled with a hint of sarcasm in his tone.
It took Cecilia a few seconds to grasp Alaric's true meaning.
She emphasized each word, "I never give myself any chance for regret, let alone give Dominic any chance for regret."
"Is that so?" Alaric seemed to believe her.
"You'll find out tonight." After saying that, Cecilia turned and walked away.
Just as she lifted her foot, her body was suddenly restrained, pressed against the nearby wall.
Alaric, reeking of alcohol, seemed very dangerous!
