Chapter 160 Being Adored
Cecilia took the tonic George brought and started eating it bit by bit.
"George, you don't have to stay with me. Once you're done, just get some rest," Cecilia said, not wanting him to overwork.
"At my age, I don't sleep much. I'll just keep you company," George replied gently.
Cecilia smiled softly.
She suddenly felt her past life had been pointless.
She had devoted herself to the Kingsley family, only to end up with a broken home and an unpeaceful death. Now, in this life, she had casually married someone and felt spoiled.
Not just by George, but also by the Whitaker family, and even Alaric.
Cecilia snapped out of her emotions, trying not to overthink.
She changed the subject. "George, have you always taken care of Alaric?"
"Yes, since he was a child."
"Did you come over from the Whitaker family's villa? Did you follow Alaric when he moved out?"
"Not exactly."
Cecilia was surprised.
George didn't elaborate, still smiling gently.
"Is Alaric bad-tempered? Was he ever naughty and got spanked by his parents?" Cecilia asked, trying to make conversation.
"Mr. Whitaker has never lost his temper."
Alaric solved things with his hands, not his words.
So, he never lost his temper.
"Mr. Whitaker isn't naughty and doesn't get spanked by his parents," George replied.
Alaric's upbringing was different. The Whitaker family wouldn't spank him.
"Is Alaric really that well-behaved?" Cecilia found it hard to believe.
Whenever she saw Alaric, he seemed like a troublemaker.
"Yes," George nodded.
Alaric was a well-behaved child. He never resisted or complained.
Cecilia felt there wasn't much to talk about with George. In George's eyes, Alaric was perfect. Whatever Alaric did was right.
Cecilia finished her tonic, left the hall, and went upstairs.
She opened her room door and paused.
In her big bed lay Alaric, not sleeping but fiddling with his phone.
Sensing the door open, he glanced over and said mockingly, "I thought you'd never come back."
His tone carried a hint of anger.
Cecilia looked at Alaric. George had said he had a good temper. 'Where was his good temper?'
"I had a lot of work to do," Cecilia explained briefly.
"So you can just leave me alone."
"You're fine at home. What's there to ask about?" Cecilia got irritated by Alaric easily. She didn't know why all her good manners were all for naught with Alaric.
"I'm home alone and have trouble getting around. Don't I need someone to keep me company?"
Cecilia said, "Isn't Cassius here to keep you company?"
Alaric asked, "Is Cassius my wife?"
"He could be your husband," Cecilia said bluntly.
Alaric felt extremely frustrated.
At that moment, Cecilia suddenly felt like she had won a round.
"Come here!" Alaric ordered.
Cecilia looked defensive. 'Was Alaric going to hit her?'
George had said he wasn't bad-tempered.
"Come here," Alaric ordered again.
"Are you going to hit me?"
"How awful do you think I am?" Alaric was practically spitting blood in anger.
"So, what do you want?" Cecilia asked, clearly provoking him.
"I need to pee," Alaric said.
"Are you a puppy? Always peeing," Cecilia retorted.
"I haven't peed all day!" Alaric snapped.
"Why not?" Cecilia asked.
"I can't pee without seeing you, okay?" Alaric was exasperated. "Hurry up, I can't hold it anymore."
He looked genuinely urgent.
Cecilia was speechless.
She walked over and bent down to help him up. Alaric clearly wasn't incapable of taking care of himself, yet he insisted on torturing her like this.
'He knows I feel guilty, so no matter how unwilling I am, I won't refuse him, right?'
She finally managed to get Alaric up from the bed. He put almost all his weight on her. She was already petite compared to Alaric, and now she felt like she might be crushed.
"Did you grow up eating iron? You're so heavy," Cecilia complained.
"Can't hold up?" Alaric looked at her struggling and seemed to be in a good mood, clearly deriving happiness from her pain.
He said nonchalantly, "Then if I press on you later, won't I crush you to death?"
"Who said you could press on me?" Cecilia rolled her eyes.
Alaric chuckled, his laugh quite meaningful. At first, Cecilia didn't get it, but then she suddenly did. Alaric's words always revolved around sex.
Finally, Cecilia got Alaric to the toilet.
"Standard gesture," Alaric reminded.
Cecilia gritted her teeth, helped him pull down his pants, and then the sound of peeing filled the bathroom.
The time dragged on.
Just as Alaric was about to speak, Cecilia interrupted, "I know you have good kidneys."
Alaric chuckled, "No, you don't know yet."
Cecilia helped Alaric finish in the bathroom and got him back to bed. "Anything else you need?"
"Rub my body."
"Didn't I just do that this morning?"
"You eat in the morning, but you still need to eat at night."
Cecilia really wanted to strangle Alaric. What kind of unreasonable logic was this?
She gritted her teeth and went to the bathroom to get a hot towel, avoiding his male parts, and wiped him down.
After she finished, she was then ordered to fetch water, scratch itches, and even give massages. It took her a long time to finally get Alaric to sleep.
Cecilia finally had time to take a shower.
When she came back from her shower, she seemed to hear Alaric's steady and even breathing, indicating he was asleep.
Cecilia couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. She had finally gotten Alaric to sleep.
She carefully got into bed, still feeling a bit uneasy sharing a bed with Alaric. She turned off the bedside lamp and deliberately lay a little farther away.
As she was falling asleep, she felt a dangerous body pressing against her back. She stayed still, her whole body tense. The steady breathing behind her was still Alaric's.
Cecilia tried to relax. Actually, after spending these past few days together, she knew very well that Alaric wouldn't do anything to make things awkward for her.
Her heart felt inexplicably touched. She turned over to face Alaric. Through the moonlight, she looked at his handsome but unclear face.
"Thank you, Alaric," she said.
In the darkness, she didn't notice the beautiful smile that appeared on the sleeping Alaric's lips.
