Chapter 481 The Game (26) Alaric Returns, Taunting Dominic

Dominic got booted out of the Lockhart Group's main gate.

He just stood there, desperate and pathetic.

He didn't wanna leave, not yet.

If he walked away now, the Kingsley Group was toast.

He balled up his fists, shaking with anger he was trying to keep in check.

Never in a million years did he think the Kingsley Group's fate would be in Cecilia's hands.

Just when Dominic was stuck in his own head, a deep voice cut through the air, "Mr. Kingsley, fancy seeing you here."

Dominic whipped around to see Alaric, looking all sharp in his suit, standing there.

Alaric looked like he just stepped out of a magazine, while Dominic looked like he got dragged through a hedge backward.

His tussle with the security guards left his hair and clothes a mess.

His face was a mix of frustration and anger.

He started straightening his clothes and fixing his hair, feeling like a total mess.

Alaric watched him, smirking, "Mr. Kingsley, you here for something?"

"Why are you back?" Dominic shot back, ignoring Alaric's question.

"State Office let me come back early," Alaric said with a smug smile. "Got half a month left, and they wanted me to report back."

Dominic's face darkened.

He couldn't believe half a year had flown by so fast.

The Kingsley Group had been in deep trouble, and he hadn't had a second to think about Alaric. And now, here Alaric was, back and looking smug.

With Alaric's track record at the State Office and his new training, Dominic knew his own position was shaky. Especially since the Monroe Family had ditched him, his future was looking bleak.

Alaric seemed to enjoy watching Dominic squirm.

That smug smile made Dominic wanna punch something.

He swallowed his pride and glared at Alaric.

"Since you won't say why you're here, I'm not wasting my time," Alaric said, striding into the Lockhart Group's lobby.

The security guards practically rolled out the red carpet for Alaric, making Dominic feel even more humiliated.

He clenched his teeth and yelled after Alaric, "Alaric, can you take me to see Cecilia?"

Alaric sneered, pausing to turn around, "Cecilia doesn't wanna see you."

"I need to clear up some misunderstandings with her," Dominic pleaded.

"You pissed her off, and she doesn't wanna see you. Don't push it," Alaric shot back. "You'll just make things worse."

Dominic's face went pale.

Begging Alaric for help was a new low.

There was no way Alaric would help him out of the goodness of his heart.

He was losing it.

Alaric smirked, "You'll see Cecilia when she wants to see you."

With that, Alaric walked away.

Dominic stood there, teeth clenched, eyes bloodshot, face twisted with rage.

Right then, a chatty security guard couldn't help but snicker, "If you had married Ms. Lockhart back then, you wouldn't have been in this mess now. Serves you right."

Dominic shot the guard a death glare.

He'd never been mocked like this by someone so beneath him.

"Should've kept it in your pants!" The guard wasn't fazed by Dominic's glare and even raised his voice.

Other guards joined in, "Yeah, you got caught cheating at the wedding, and now you have the nerve to come crawling back to Ms. Lockhart. Pathetic."

Their taunts echoed in Dominic's ears.

He clenched his teeth in rage but knew he had to bail.

Sticking around would just make things worse.

He needed to figure out how to talk to Cecilia about the e-commerce platform deal.

Meanwhile, Cecilia was back in her office, buried in work.

She was glad Dominic was suffering but didn't want to waste too much time on him.

She focused on her tasks.

Suddenly, the door swung open. Without looking up, she assumed it was Rose and asked, "Did Dominic leave?"

No response.

Cecilia frowned, "Is he causing more trouble?"

She looked up and saw Alaric.

Alaric always had a knack for disappearing and reappearing out of nowhere.

Every time he came back, it was a surprise.

She stared at him, stunned.

She didn't expect Alaric to return now; he usually came back at night.

Today, he was back in the morning.

She tried to hide her excitement, wondering if she was dreaming.

"Honey, don't you miss me?" Alaric raised an eyebrow.

Cecilia snapped out of it. "Why'd you come back again?"

"Every second away from you feels like a year. How can you say 'again'?"

Cecilia couldn't hold back, "Yes, I miss you terribly! Because I miss you, I can't believe you're back."

Alaric seemed pleased with her answer.

He walked straight towards her.

Cecilia frowned.

What was Alaric up to?

She always felt a sense of danger when he got close.

She watched as his tall frame perched on her desk, his long legs casually touching the floor, leaning in close to her.

Her heart started racing.

She instinctively leaned back.

She nestled into her chair, and she seemed to disappear into the chair, almost invisible.

"What are you doing?" Cecilia stuttered, "I'm working."

"I know." Alaric leaned in even closer.

"Then back off."

Alaric kissed her.

Knowing she was working, he still did it.

Could Alaric flirt anytime, anywhere?

Cecilia resisted a bit but couldn't fight off Alaric's kiss, nor her own excitement. She ended up kissing him back passionately.

Their kiss was intense and unbreakable.

Every time they parted, their feelings deepened, and every reunion was more uncontrollable.

The office was filled with passion, heat, and entanglement.
