Chapter 772 Transfer of the Lockhart Group
Seraphina looked at Dashiell.
Watching him answer her while still typing on the keyboard, handling work, she felt a bit disappointed.
Seraphina thought for a moment and then felt it was fine.
It avoided too much awkwardness.
And Dashiell didn't seem to care much about this matter, so she wouldn't feel so pressured.
She comforted herself this way.
Seraphina relaxed and said, "Then I won't bother you. I'll leave now. I'll be on time for work tomorrow. Should I sit in your office or...?"
"You continue to sit in your current office. I'll change the title plate on the office door."
Was that okay?
She, a general manager, was sitting in a place more splendid than the chairman's.
"I'm not used to moving around," Dashiell said coldly.
"Alright." Seraphina didn't argue.
After all, Dashiell had the final say.
Seraphina still felt a bit strange in her heart.
In an instant, she went from being the client to the service provider.
This change in identity was still somewhat uncomfortable.
"Then I'm leaving," Seraphina said again.
Dashiell nodded slightly.
Seraphina turned and left, gently closing the door behind her.
Then she sighed heavily.
What chance of reconciliation from spending time together?
Dashiell probably wouldn't look at her directly ever again.
Inside the office, as soon as the door closed, Dashiell leaned heavily on his office chair.
His emotions were still slightly stirred.
He thought he was already very calm.
But he still got nervous because of Seraphina's decision.
He took a deep breath, adjusted his emotions, and focused on continuing his work. When he saw a string of characters on the screen, he fell silent again.
While waiting for Seraphina to make her decision, he pretended to be calm and kept typing on the keyboard.
He didn't even know what he had typed.
Only now did he realize.
The screen was filled with rows of "Seraphina's" name.
Dashiell stared at the name in silence for a long time.
He still deleted them all.
Another week passed.
Cecilia continued to work as usual during this time.
Alaric indeed hadn't appeared in front of her in Serenovia City.
She didn't know if he was keeping his promise or if he was too busy to show up.
After all, in just a few days, Alaric would be stepping onto the historical stage of the Yakurosean Empire.
Cecilia had seen quite a bit of news about this.
National affairs, aside from emotions, still needed some attention.
But she didn't spend much time on it.
Most of her time was spent handling internal matters of the Lockhart Group.
Tomorrow, the announcement will be made.
Now, except for a few people internally, no one else knew that the Lockhart Group was about to be acquired.
Cecilia sat in her office, carefully checking for any omissions.
The phone rang.
Cecilia glanced at it and answered, "Dashiell."
"I'm downstairs at the Lockhart Group."
"Come up."
"Directly to your office?"
"Go directly to my dad's office. I've already informed him."
"Okay."
Cecilia hung up the phone.
Today, Dashiell came to sign the transfer contract.
The advantage of having a good relationship was that there was no tension or conflict, and a contract worth billions of dollars was settled just like that.
Cecilia put down her work and went straight to Theodore's office.
Dashiell arrived shortly after.
He appeared very respectful, "Mr. Lockhart."
Theodore still looked a bit angry at Dashiell.
Such a large industry, given away just like that. He had tried to come to terms with it for days, but at this moment, he couldn't understand it again.
Cecilia knew Theodore's feelings, so she said nothing and let him vent.
Dashiell was obviously a bit embarrassed.
He forced himself to say, "Mr. Lockhart, please review the contract. If there's anything you're not satisfied with, we can change it."
"How can it be changed?" Theodore raised an eyebrow.
"Mr. Lockhart, please see what you're dissatisfied with first."
"I'm dissatisfied with everything. Most of all, I'm dissatisfied with transferring such a large industry of the Lockhart Group to Alaric!"
Dashiell didn't know what to say.
In front of the elders, Dashiell was still shy.
He glanced at Cecilia.
Cecilia pretended not to see.
Dashiell pursed his lips.
He said, "I don't know if Cecilia has told Mr. Lockhart about Alaric's situation and the current situation..."
"What's there to say?" Theodore interrupted Dashiell directly, "An outsider, what's there to say!"
Dashiell was embarrassed again.
Cecilia couldn't help but smile.
Suddenly, she felt that Theodore was quite satisfying.
"Dad, don't make it difficult for Dashiell. It's not his fault. Just sign it." Cecilia finally spoke up for Dashiell.
She knew very well that it was a done deal, and there was no need to make things difficult for Dashiell.
She never involved the innocent.
Theodore glanced at Cecilia and sighed heavily.
Cecilia had said a lot during this time and had done a lot of work on his thoughts. He actually understood. But when facing it, he still felt unwilling, yet he didn't want to make Cecilia uncomfortable. He held back, picked up the gold-plated pen beside him, and signed his name heavily.
Seeing Theodore's straightforwardness, Cecilia still felt a bit oppressed.
She could only pretend not to care much.
She handed the signed contract to Dashiell, "It's done."
"Thank you." Dashiell sincerely thanked her.
Deep down, he was still afraid of causing unnecessary conflicts.
Cecilia smiled lightly, "You're welcome."
It made it seem like transferring the Lockhart Group was just an ordinary business deal, not worth making a fuss over.
Dashiell nodded, "Then I won't disturb Mr. Lockhart and Cecilia any longer. I'll leave now."
"After we announce it to all employees tomorrow, we'll leave the Lockhart Group. The subsequent matters will be up to you."
"Okay." Dashiell agreed readily.
Cecilia smiled, "Take care."
Dashiell nodded and left.
After leaving, he returned to his car.
He couldn't help but call Alaric.
"Dashiell."
"I went to sign the transfer contract for the Lockhart Group with Mr. Lockhart today."
"Was it smooth?" Alaric's voice was very calm.
"Very smooth. Cecilia even helped me get Mr. Lockhart to sign. I thought there would be a lot of trouble, but it was completely unexpected. Cecilia seems to have thought it through very clearly. I feel like she has thought everything through very clearly."
His words had a deeper meaning, which he believed Alaric would understand.
There was a response from the other side, "Okay."
"By the way, are you coming back tomorrow or the day after?" Dashiell changed the subject.
Many things were better left unsaid.
"The day after tomorrow."
"Do you want to come back tomorrow? Tomorrow, Cecilia will officially leave the Lockhart Group..."
"We'll see." Alaric didn't commit.
Dashiell didn't pursue further. Alaric had a better grasp of many things.
"One last thing. Cecilia's pregnancy is quite obvious now."
