Chapter 551 Lyra's Miscarriage

"Dashiell, do you seriously like that bitch Cecilia?" Penelope yelled.

She couldn't stand how Dashiell was always defending Cecilia.

"Who I like is none of your business, but it sure as hell isn't you," Dashiell shot back. "Ms. Kingsley, have some dignity."

With that, Dashiell walked off with Cecilia.

Penelope just stood there, watching them leave, her face twisted with rage, her eyes blazing.

She really wanted to kill Cecilia!

Back in the car, Cecilia noticed Dashiell's cold demeanor.

"Will you be moved by Penelope?" she asked.

Dashiell shook his head, but it wasn't a firm no—it was more like he was unsure.

His heart wasn't made of stone; over time, it naturally grew attached.

"How did the talk with Lyra go?" Dashiell changed the subject.

"I don't know; we'll see," Cecilia replied uncertainly.

But knowing Lyra's strong-willed personality, she probably wouldn't let things go easily.

Cecilia picked up the phone and called Cassius, "Go ahead."

"Are you sure?" Cassius asked, surprised.

He didn't expect Cecilia to go this far.

"Absolutely," Cecilia said bluntly.

Given all the torment and ridicule Cecilia endured from Lyra in her past life, she felt no need to show her any mercy.

Some people deserved to pay with blood!

At SavorySpectrum Restaurant, Lyra didn't eat anything and got up to leave.

At the entrance, she saw Penelope breaking down, crying uncontrollably, clearly having been rejected by Dashiell once again.

Lyra's face looked grim, and she wasn't in the mood to comfort Penelope. Besides, she felt Penelope didn't deserve her sympathy.

Lyra walked past Penelope, "Let's go back."

Penelope had no appetite at this moment either.

She glanced at Lyra, and seeing Lyra's strut in front of her, her already bad mood hit its peak.

'Why does Lyra get to be so arrogant? Dominic married her just to use her as a pawn. Sooner or later, she will face misfortune too,' Penelope cursed silently.

She gritted her teeth and followed Lyra, getting into their car.

The car drove very smoothly. Lyra was pregnant, so they were being very careful in every aspect.

The car was dead silent. Suddenly, there was a sharp turn, and neither Lyra nor Penelope was prepared. They both hit their heads due to the sudden movement.

Penelope, already furious, directly vented her anger on the driver. "Are you crazy! A sudden sharp turn like that! Do you want us to die?"

The driver said, "No. Ms. Kingsley, a car suddenly came straight at us. If I didn't turn sharply, we would have been hit. I barely avoided it, I..."

"Enough!" Penelope didn't listen to the explanation. "Just drive properly."

"Yes..." Before the driver could finish the sentence, a car suddenly came rushing from the right side.

The driver, distracted by talking to Penelope, didn't notice.

By the time he did, the cars had already collided.

Lyra's car was hit and pushed several feet, crashing into the guardrail on the side. The people inside screamed in fear.

Lyra was also scared, her face pale.

She clutched her stomach tightly and felt a sharp, tearing pain in her abdomen.

Penelope was also dizzy from the impact.

"It hurts." Lyra's face changed.

She curled up, feeling a warm flow from her lower body.

At that moment, Penelope seemed to realize what was happening. She quickly shouted to the driver, "Call an ambulance, now!"

Dazed from the crash, the driver fumbled to dial the phone after hearing Penelope's frantic order.

Penelope quickly called Dominic, "Dominic, something's wrong. Lyra and I were in a car accident, and now Lyra is in pain..."

At that moment, Dominic was entertaining some people involved with the Alaric case, secretly drinking and discussing their strategy for the next court appearance. They had even confirmed the next court date would be in a week, and no matter what happened, a judgment had to be made.

He didn't expect to receive this call just after finalizing the deal. His face changed instantly, and he quickly said, "Where are you? Get to the hospital immediately!"

Penelope said, "We've called an ambulance, but I think Lyra..."

Dominic interrupted her, "Send me your location. I'm coming right away."

Penelope said, "Okay."

Dominic put down the phone, gave a few instructions, and immediately drove off.

He arrived quickly, just as the ambulance was getting there. Lyra, Penelope, and the driver were being put into the ambulance. Dominic quickly got in too.

The first thing he did was check on Lyra. "Are you okay?"

"It hurts; my stomach hurts so much..." Lyra said in pain.

Dominic saw the blood between Lyra's legs, and his face changed dramatically. At that moment, Dominic wasn't thinking about how much pain Lyra was in. He was thinking about what to do if they lost the baby.

He couldn't let the Monroe family know they lost the baby. He was in a critical period and couldn't afford any mistakes.

If the Monroe family found out he failed to protect Lyra, Tomas would definitely kill him. Lyra was his only support now!

He quickly ran through various scenarios in his mind and began planning his next steps.

Lyra said, "Dominic, if something happens to the baby..."

"It won't," Dominic said firmly, "The baby will be fine; trust me."

Lyra looked at Dominic and saw the sincerity in his eyes. At that moment, she couldn't tell if Dominic truly loved her. Was Cecilia trying to sow discord?

Lyra closed her eyes, the pain making it impossible to think too much.

The ambulance quickly arrived at the hospital, and Lyra was taken to the emergency room.

Penelope and the driver had minor injuries and were treated externally. Then everyone waited for Lyra's results.

After a long time, the emergency room door opened. Dominic rushed over. "How is she?"

The doctor replied, "Unfortunately, the baby couldn't be saved. The patient was early in her pregnancy, it was unstable, and the car accident caused a miscarriage..."

Dominic's face turned extremely grim. He wasn't worried about Lyra, but about this getting out and not being able to explain to Tomas.

He gritted his teeth. "There was no miscarriage; the baby is fine."

The doctor, along with everyone else, looked at him.

"If anyone dares to spill the beans, I'll kill them," Dominic said coldly.

No one dared to speak.

At that moment, Lyra was wheeled out of the operating room, her eyes red. She knew she had miscarried.

Dominic quickly went over, gently comforting her. "It's okay now. I'll take you back to your room."

"It was Cecilia, it must have been her! I'm going to tell my dad. I'm going to make her pay!" Lyra screamed in despair.
