Chapter 370 A Thousand Miles of Tenderness (2)
Cecilia rubbed her ears and said, "What's up?"
Seraphina's so hyped. It couldn't be anything major, so Cecilia didn't really sweat it.
"I'm asking you, what's up!" Seraphina snapped. "I saw the news saying you got screwed over by Dominic!"
The news probably didn't put it like that.
At most, it was that the Kingsley Group overshadowed the Lockhart Group.
"Where you at?" Seraphina asked, suddenly sounding all soft.
Just a second ago, she looked like she wanted to murder her, but now Seraphina was all tender.
"I'm in Harborvale," Cecilia replied, glancing at the decor in her place.
As she answered, a smile crept onto her lips.
It was love.
The whole room felt like it was filled with Alaric's scent.
"Harborvale? What are you doing in Harborvale?!" Seraphina got all worked up again.
Cecilia thought next time she called Seraphina, she should use speakerphone, or else her ears might get blown out one day!
"Alaric's here," Cecilia said, exasperated.
Seraphina seemed to get it and responded with a slight, "Oh!"
"You called me just because of the news?" Cecilia asked.
"Yeah, it's such a big deal, I was afraid you couldn't handle it. I saw the media saying you suddenly took a vacation? I was worried you might do something drastic!" Seraphina said bluntly.
Cecilia rolled her eyes.
She replied, "I'm fine, just tired and taking a break."
"Are you taking a break or missing Alaric?" Seraphina teased.
"Both." Cecilia didn't hide it.
After all, she and Seraphina had grown up together, there were no secrets between them.
"You really are head over heels for Alaric," Seraphina said, clearly a bit jealous. "You went all the way there just to see him, will he be so excited that he jumps up when he sees you?"
"He hasn't gotten off work yet, he hasn't seen me," Cecilia said.
"I bet the first thing he'll do when he gets back is jump your bones," Seraphina said bluntly.
Not just Cecilia, even Dashiell, who was next to Seraphina, looked a bit embarrassed.
He glanced at Seraphina, his ears a bit red.
Cecilia blushed and said, "Can you be a bit more reserved?"
"What's there to be reserved about?! Isn't that what married couples do?" Seraphina thought Cecilia was being ridiculous.
Cecilia pursed her lips, a bit perfunctory. "Yeah, you're right."
"By the way, is Alaric good in bed?" Seraphina suddenly asked, very curious and serious.
Dashiell, next to her, was clearly stunned, but he didn't say anything.
Actually, she and Seraphina were close enough to share everything.
In her previous life, Seraphina had asked her the same question about Dominic.
She had answered, "He's okay."
"How?" Seraphina suddenly got excited.
Dashiell pursed his lips, clearly feeling awkward.
"You and Dashiell have done it, right? It's about the same!" Cecilia said.
"What does it matter with Dashiell, that night it was just me..." Seraphina glanced at Dashiell, who was looking down at his phone, seemingly not listening to her, and said, "Anyway, that doesn't count."
"Then just sleep with him again," Cecilia suggested.
"Are you crazy?! I don't want to!" Seraphina looked disgusted.
"So you're planning to make both you and Dashiell celibate?" Cecilia asked.
Seraphina was furious, because she still couldn't accept the fact that she had to spend the rest of her life with the man beside her!
"Enough about me, spill the tea," Seraphina asked, all impatient but excited, "Does he, you know, satisfy you?"
Dashiell really couldn't take it anymore. 'Do all women talk this openly? Or is it just Seraphina?'
Dashiell reached over and grabbed Seraphina's phone.
He was about to say something to Cecilia when he heard her say, "Yes."
Dashiell was super embarrassed, and after a moment, he said, "Cecilia, it's me."
Cecilia was mortified.
Seraphina was an idiot!.
At that moment, she was so embarrassed she wanted to dig a hole and hide in it.
"I just wanted to say, it's late, Seraphina should go to bed." Dashiell tried to sound normal.
"Okay." Cecilia also tried to act natural. "You guys should get some rest."
With that, Cecilia hung up the phone.
At that moment, Cecilia's face was burning hot.
What a disgrace!
'Seraphina is so unreliable! Why didn't she tell me Dashiell was next to her?'
Cecilia was fuming!
Seraphina was also fuming.
She glared at Dashiell, saying, "Why'd you grab my phone?"
"It's late." Dashiell put the phone aside and plugged it in to charge.
"It's only a little past 7," Seraphina retorted.
"You usually go to bed around this time," Dashiell said.
"I can't sleep today, give me the phone, I want to talk to Cecilia."
Dashiell said, "No, it's not good for the baby."
"Go to sleep," Dashiell turned off the lights, leaving just a dim one.
Seraphina turned her back to Dashiell.
Fuck.
Seraphina was clearly unhappy, but she didn't know when she started listening to Dashiell!
Cecilia put down her phone and watched TV for a while out of boredom.
She then wandered around Alaric's place out of boredom.
Even though they had been video chatting often during their month apart, seeing the furniture in person gave Cecilia a strange feeling.
This simple room was so much more modest compared to Alaric's luxurious mansion, Cecilia felt a bit sorry for him, wondering how he got used to it.
At 8 PM, Cecilia ordered takeout.
According to the delivery time, it would be perfect for Alaric to have dinner at 9 PM when he got back.
She specifically ordered from the most upscale restaurant in Harborvale, even asking for wine and candles.
Cecilia wanted to surprise Alaric.
She carefully set up the dinner, and it wasn't even 9 PM yet.
After thinking for a bit, Cecilia decided to take a shower.
The simple bathroom didn't have a massage tub or even a regular tub.
The showerhead was uncomfortable, and Cecilia didn't know why she felt so sweet inside.
After the shower, Cecilia put on a red spaghetti strap dress she had brought, the beautiful dress making her skin look even fairer and more tender. At that moment, she quickly put on some slightly heavy makeup, and in the mirror, she saw a seductive and sexy woman.
She admitted it.
Seraphina was right, she wanted to make love to Alaric three hundred times!
Cecilia suppressed a wave of passion in her heart, curling up on the sofa waiting for Alaric.
At 9 PM, Alaric hadn't come back yet.
Cecilia thought he might be delayed.
At 10 PM, Alaric still hadn't come back.
Even though the high-end meal had been kept warm, it had cooled down by now.
At 11 PM, Cecilia thought Alaric might not come back.
Maybe he went to a hotel with some woman.
But at that moment, she suddenly heard the sound of the door lock outside.
