Chapter 179 The Greatest Punishment Is Making Him Out of Reach
Cassius got kicked out of the car by Alaric.
Standing alone on the street at night, he watched the taillights disappear.
"Damn."
Could Alaric be any more of a friend-ditcher for romance?
Cassius had just run all over Serenovia City to buy flowers for Alaric.
And Alaric just dumped him like that!
Alaric's behavior was beyond words!
Cassius was so mad he felt like he might explode.
He pulled out his phone to call his driver but paused and dialed a different number.
After a while, the other end picked up, "Cassius."
"Where are you?"
"At home, writing code," Dashiell replied.
"You know, you'll never find a wife if you stay home all the time," Cassius said with disdain.
Dashiell chuckled.
"Do you need something?"
When it came to finding a girlfriend, he had no good comeback.
"Come out and have a drink with me."
"I'm not done with—"
"Come out, I wanna drink with you," Cassius insisted. "Didn't you just go through a breakup? You need to vent."
Dashiell thought to himself, he'd been heartbroken for ages. If he wanted to get drunk, he would've done it long ago.
"I'll send you the address, come pick me up," Cassius said firmly.
Then, Cassius hung up.
Dashiell sighed.
He really couldn't say no to Cassius.
He was younger than Cassius and Alaric, and he'd grown up following them around, so he was used to following their lead.
He saved his half-written code, changed clothes, and went out.
As soon as he stepped out of his villa, he saw a car approaching.
Dashiell instinctively ducked to the side.
In the darkness, no one could really see him.
He saw Sebastian get out first. Then, he walked over to Seraphina's door and opened it for her like a gentleman.
Seraphina got out of the car.
Sebastian reached out to help her, took her hand, and walked her back to the Everhart family's villa.
At the entrance, they were reluctant to part.
"Seraphina, go rest early. We're getting married next month," Sebastian urged, his face full of tenderness.
"I don't want to be away from you for even a minute," Seraphina said, burrowing into his arms.
Sebastian smiled and hugged her, "Me too. I wish I could marry you right now."
"Sebastian," Seraphina looked up at him with deep affection.
Sebastian looked at her the same way.
Then, Seraphina tiptoed, wrapped her arms around Sebastian's neck, and kissed him.
Just as their lips touched, a phone rang.
They were both startled and turned to look in the direction of the sound.
Dashiell fumbled to turn off his phone, panicking.
When he finally hung up, he felt two pairs of eyes staring at him.
He was a bit embarrassed.
He pursed his lips and smiled a bit, "I didn't mean to interrupt, but I guess I did."
He wore an apologetic and self-effacing smile.
Seraphina's face was clearly unhappy.
Sebastian's face wasn't much better.
Dashiell said, "I have to go out for a bit, you two carry on."
Dashiell walked past them casually, got into his car, and drove off.
Seraphina and Sebastian watched until his taillights vanished.
"Has he ever done anything to you?" Sebastian suddenly asked.
Seraphina, who had been silently cursing Dashiell, was surprised. "What did you say?"
"Just wondering if he still has feelings for you," Sebastian said, a hint of jealousy in his voice. "You two grew up together."
"That's why I've always hated him," Seraphina said through gritted teeth.
Sebastian affectionately patted her head. "Get some rest."
"Okay." This time, Seraphina didn't pester Sebastian anymore. Her mood had been ruined by Dashiell.
She gave Sebastian a sweet smile. "Don't work late when you get home. Rest early and think of me when you sleep."
"Okay," Sebastian nodded.
Seraphina kissed him on the cheek and waved as she walked into the villa.
Sebastian watched her disappear before turning back to his car and driving off coldly.
His phone suddenly rang.
Sebastian glanced at it and answered, "Nancy."
"Are you really going to marry Seraphina?" Nancy Wilson, visibly sobbing, came over the line.
Sebastian's eyes turned cold. "You know why I'm marrying her."
"But what about our feelings..."
"I'll make it up to you."
"I don't want your compensation, I just want you."
"Nancy," Sebastian said coldly, "Once I get the House of Everhart Bank, I'll use it as a gift to marry you."
Nancy stayed upset.
"No more than five years," Sebastian promised.
He would stay with Seraphina for five years. After that, he would make sure the Everhart family had nothing left!
Seraphina returned to her room. After taking a bath, she lay in bed, unable to sleep.
Thinking about Cecilia's stunning performance at the Harmony Threads' new product launch today, she was so excited that every cell in her body was buzzing.
She had specifically observed Rebecca and Dominic. Seeing those two furious was so satisfying!
She could tell just by looking at Rebecca that she wanted to seduce Alaric. But she didn't expect Rebecca to be completely overshadowed by Cecilia.
With Cecilia in the limelight, Rebecca was practically non-existent.
She was sure that all of Rebecca's highlights tonight would turn to dust, and tomorrow, the internet would be buzzing with news about Cecilia being the chief designer Crane of Harmony Threads!
And Dominic must be regretting it now. For the sake of an Isadora.
Although Isadora had passed away and she doesn't comment much on it, the thought of Dominic cheating with Isadora before their wedding still leaves her feeling indignant.
Now it was good. Seraphina was extremely happy!
Making yourself good and unattainable was the greatest punishment for a super disgusting man like Dominic.
Feeling excited, she couldn't help but call Cecilia. She was really curious. They had grown up together. When did Cecilia become so amazing!
