Chapter 726 Leaving Astralton City

Cecilia stayed in the hospital for a week.

During this week, Dashiell and Cassius frequently visited her room.

The first time Dashiell came to her room, he was covered in bandages. He looked slightly better these past two days, but it was still quite exaggerated.

As for Alaric, he never showed up from the beginning to the end.

Fortunately, Cecilia's condition gradually improved over these days.

The doctors all said it was a miracle that the baby could be saved.

Cecilia was also very grateful that her child ultimately did not leave her.

"Cassius," Cecilia called out to Cassius, who was sitting on the couch playing a game.

Cassius glanced up, "Do you want some water?"

Over the past week, Cassius had become quite the caretaker.

"No," Cecilia said, "I want to go back to Serenovia City. Can you ask the doctor if that's possible?"

Cassius paused, his hand holding the phone froze.

He lost the mood to play his game and quickly said, "You're leaving already? Alaric hasn't even..."

Cassius couldn't finish his sentence.

It's been a week.

Alaric hadn't come even once. All of Cecilia's updates were relayed to him over the phone. Every time after the call, Cassius would curse him out, but Alaric still didn't come.

Who knows what he's dealing with that's keeping him so busy.

Cassius avoided the sensitive topic.

Cecilia, on the other hand, spoke frankly, "If he could come, he would have already. If he hasn't, he must be very busy. I don't want to disturb him."

Cassius didn't know what to say. He stood up, "I'll go ask the doctor about your condition."

"Thank you." Cassius walked out of the room.

Cecilia lay in bed alone, feeling a bit bored.

She had been confined to bed for a week, and the doctor didn't allow her to get up. She felt like her whole body had gone soft from lying down.

After all, Astralton City wasn't a place she was familiar with.

Staying here, she never felt safe and just wanted to go back.

She waited quietly for a while.

When Cassius returned, Dashiell was with him.

Cassius said, "The doctor suggests you stay in the hospital for a while longer. The baby's condition has just stabilized, and any more movement could be dangerous."

Cecilia bit her lip and said, "Can I be careful?"

"Do you really have to leave?" Cassius looked at Cecilia, feeling a bit reluctant.

Cecilia thought for a moment and nodded firmly.

Cassius could understand Cecilia.

She was alone in an unfamiliar place, and Alaric wasn't by her side. It was natural for her to want to go back.

He said, "I'll figure something out to make sure you travel as comfortably as possible."

"Thank you," Cecilia said with a bright smile.

Cassius hadn't seen Cecilia smile so brightly in a long time.

He quickly turned and left again.

Dashiell walked over to Cecilia and said, "I heard Alaric hasn't been here."

"I'm not leaving because of him," Cecilia said. "I just feel this place is too unfamiliar. I want to go back."

Dashiell nodded in understanding.

"Are you feeling better?" Cecilia asked.

Judging by Dashiell's appearance, he seemed much better.

"Much better. If you're leaving, I'll go back with you."

Cecilia paused, "Cassius can accompany me. You should stay here and rest more."

"I'm fine now. Staying in the hospital doesn't do much good," Dashiell said nonchalantly.

Cecilia didn't refuse any further.

Dashiell was a rational person and wouldn't do anything irrational.

After a while.

Cassius returned, "You can go back."

Cecilia let out a heavy sigh of relief.

She really didn't want to stay here. She felt it would be better for her and the baby to go back.

"The doctor here will accompany you back. Once you're back, you'll still need to go to the hospital. The doctor said you need to stay in the hospital for at least another half month and then see how things go."

"Okay," Cecilia nodded.

"I've arranged for a flight this afternoon," Cassius added.

"Thank you."

"Cecilia," Cassius suddenly looked serious.

"What?"

"I called Alaric and told him you were leaving. But he seems to be busy today and can't come. I mean, he can't come to see you off..." Cassius didn't know how to put it nicely.

Cecilia chuckled lightly, "I didn't expect him to come. Let him focus on his work."

Cassius pursed his lips and glanced at Dashiell.

Dashiell didn't know what to say either.

So, no one said anything more.

In the afternoon.

Cecilia left the hospital in a wheelchair.

Accompanying her were Cassius, Dashiell, medical staff from the hospital, and many professional bodyguards.

To those who didn't know, it looked like some big shot was making an appearance.

In fact, Cecilia was indeed a big shot now.

All the things Alaric had been doing recently were to elevate him to the highest position of power in the Yakurosean Empire, and he had already made this information public. As Alaric's wife, Cecilia's status naturally became prestigious.

The car took them directly to Astralton City's private airport.

Inside were all private jets.

Cecilia got out of the car and boarded the plane in her wheelchair.

Cassius was pushing Cecilia.

"Cassius," Dashiell suddenly called out from behind.

Cassius turned around and saw a black car speeding towards them.

It was Alaric's car.

It seemed Alaric finally had a bit of conscience.

The car came to a screeching halt, and Alaric got out.

Cecilia saw him too.

She watched him, looking a bit rushed, his long legs quickly striding over.

Cecilia pursed her lips.

Alaric should have been the person closest to her, but at this moment, seeing him, she felt a strange sense of unfamiliarity and distance.

"Cecilia," Alaric called her name.

Cecilia responded.

Dashiell pulled Cassius aside.

Cassius didn't react immediately.

Dashiell forcibly dragged Cassius away, giving Alaric and Cecilia some private space.

"I'm sorry, I..." Alaric seemed to want to explain but didn't know how.

Cecilia shook her head, "It's okay. I know you're busy."

Alaric's throat moved slightly.

Sometimes Cecilia was so rational that it made people feel heartbroken.

He said, "Our child..."

"Is doing well," Cecilia replied, a small smile appearing on her lips as she talked about her child. "She's very strong."

No.

It's you who are strong.

Alaric wanted to say but couldn't.

He knelt down and held Cecilia's hand.

Their palms touched, sharing warmth.

Cecilia looked at Alaric, her heart trembling slightly.

Many emotions were being deliberately suppressed.

She was.

He was too.

"Francis's death has nothing to do with you," Alaric suddenly said.

Cecilia's eyes showed a hint of surprise.

"Don't blame yourself."

Cecilia remained silent.

Alaric leaned closer to Cecilia's face.

He gently kissed her cheek, "Take good care of yourself when you go back."

"And you?" Cecilia suddenly blurted out.

Alaric paused.

"Will you come back?" Cecilia asked him.
