Chapter 392 Andrew's Deep Regret
Vivienne shot daggers at Cecilia, her face all twisted up with rage, like she wanted to straight-up murder her!
But right now, she couldn't even lay a finger on her, and she was scared Cecilia might smack her back. So, Vivienne had to suck it up.
Vivienne just couldn't wrap her head around why Cecilia had turned into such a hard-ass.
She remembered when Cecilia was a kid, every time she came back to the Lockhart Old Mansion, she'd be all shy, trailing behind her parents. No matter how much Vivienne or her kids bullied her, insulted her, or even pinched her, Cecilia would just hide and never dared to cry out loud or snitch.
Now, Cecilia was standing there all high and mighty.
Vivienne couldn't help but feel a chill run down her spine.
She didn't dare to lose her cool in front of her!
"Your son's locked up. Go take a good look. He's been slapped with ten years. By the time he gets out, you might be six feet under," Cecilia spat out before strutting away.
Rose was totally floored by Cecilia's badass vibe. Tagging along with Cecilia, she always felt a rush of satisfaction.
Rose thought Vivienne had it coming.
In short, Rose was loving every second of it.
It took Rose a minute to snap out of it, and she quickly caught up with Cecilia.
Augustus watched Cecilia walk away, making sure Vivienne was no threat, then let go of Vivienne and followed.
They drove off.
Vivienne, with her face all puffy, glared hatefully in the direction the car had gone.
She was at her wit's end!
She wanted to rip Cecilia to shreds!
She gritted her teeth, but right now, the main thing was Andrew.
Thinking about Andrew being locked up, Vivienne couldn't keep it together and rushed into the detention center.
The moment she saw Andrew, Vivienne broke down, bawling her eyes out.
"Andrew, how could you be so dumb? How could you break the law? Now you're locked up, what am I supposed to do?" Vivienne cried miserably, looking at Andrew, and totally lost it, letting out all the crap she just went through with Cecilia.
"Mom, I didn't want this either!" Andrew sobbed uncontrollably when he saw Vivienne.
He'd been spoiled by Vivienne since he was a kid. Whenever he messed up, Vivienne would always cover for him. Now, in trouble, he wanted Vivienne to bail him out.
"You idiot, what am I supposed to do now? Your dad's in prison, and now you are too!" Vivienne was so mad she could barely breathe.
When Vincent went in, she could still tell herself that at least Andrew was around.
Now Andrew was in too, and her daughter was dead...
Thinking of this, Vivienne couldn't help but wail again.
"Mom, Cecilia can help me. Go find Cecilia, she can help me!" Andrew said excitedly.
Vivienne cried even harder. "Don't count on that witch. Did you see my face? She just slapped me. I really wish I could kill her!"
"Grandma. You can ask Grandma for help!" Andrew quickly said.
Maybe it was a moment of clarity in desperation.
At this moment, in such a mess, Andrew got a bit smarter.
No way he was going to jail.
Even if he had to, it couldn't be for ten years!
And he was dead sure Cecilia could cut his sentence down.
He even started thinking Cecilia was some kind of all-powerful wizard.
Andrew was kicking himself for ever crossing Cecilia.
He was no match for her, not even close.
"Your grandma?" Vivienne took a moment to calm down, wiping her tears.
"Yeah, Grandma won't let me rot in here. She can't stand to see me like this. So, get Grandma to beg Theodore. Theodore's not as cold-hearted as Cecilia. He'll listen to Grandma. No matter how much Grandma's messed up, if she begs Theodore, he'll help me. Cecilia will listen to Theodore. Mom, Grandma's our only shot!" Andrew said, all fired up.
Vivienne stared at Andrew for a long time before saying, "You're right, but..."
"But what?" Andrew was freaking out.
"You know how I've treated your grandma. I've taken out all my anger on her lately. She won't help us!" Vivienne said, feeling a wave of regret.
If she had known Ophelia would be useful, she wouldn't have treated her so badly!
"It doesn't matter. Ophelia's old-school. She won't just let me die. She won't leave me hanging. You just need to beg her sincerely, and she'll help me. Mom, it's all on you now!" Andrew said, tears streaming down his face.
Andrew didn't want his life to end like this.
He was only in his twenties, with a bright future ahead.
He couldn't go to jail, not for ten years. He wouldn't watch himself ruined.
Vivienne knew this was the only way.
She gritted her teeth, saying, "Alright, I'll go beg Ophelia right away!"
"Mom, I'll be waiting for good news," Andrew said.
With that, Vivienne hurriedly left the detention center.
No matter what, she had to ensure Andrew's safety.
Cecilia headed straight back to the company from the detention center.
She was waiting for the contract from the Kingsley Group.
Once the contract was signed, she'd report to the board, and this whole mess would be wrapped up.
With that done, Cecilia would dive into other projects.
The company couldn't just sit still.
The Lockhart Group had to keep moving forward to really make a name for itself in the business world.
Cecilia carefully laid out her plans for the company's future.
Suddenly, her phone rang.
Cecilia glanced at the screen and answered, "Dad."
"Come home, Ophelia's here," Theodore urged.
Cecilia pursed her lips.
Andrew was smart, knowing to use Ophelia to get to Theodore.
She saved her work and agreed, "Alright, I'll be right back."
She hung up the phone and walked out of the office.
"Ms. Lockhart," Rose called out quickly.
"You don't need to follow me. I have some family stuff to handle. If the Kingsley Group brings the contract, call me, and I'll come back," Cecilia said.
"Yes," Rose replied respectfully.
She watched Cecilia's commanding figure leave.
Rose couldn't take her eyes off her for a long time.
Rose just thought, Cecilia was not only beautiful with a killer figure, but also incredibly capable. Was this not showing favoritism by God??
In this world, besides Cecilia, there probably wasn't another woman as perfect as her.
She wondered if Dominic now deeply regretted losing Cecilia. And Alaric must be smiling in his sleep!
