Chapter 790 Some Pains Transcend Life and Death
Dashiell stayed with Cecilia for a while, but nothing changed.
He walked out of Cecilia's ward, looking at her frail appearance, he could completely imagine how heartbroken Alaric would be seeing her like this.
He walked into Alaric's ward next door.
In the ward, Cassius was keeping watch.
Because of Alaric's tongue injury, he couldn't eat and had to rely on IV fluids for nutrition.
Cecilia didn't even want to have IV fluids.
When Dashiell appeared, Cassius looked up at him.
His eyes were asking how it went.
Dashiell shook his head.
Cassius knew it would be like this.
Cecilia was just stubborn.
He turned to look at Alaric lying on the bed and said, "Tomas just called me, asking when you're going back."
Alaric kept his eyes closed and didn't respond.
"Astralton City is a mess over there. If you don't go back soon, aren't you afraid Tomas will cause trouble?" Cassius was a bit exasperated.
Alaric took out his phone and typed, "He wouldn't dare."
"Even if he wouldn't dare, you can't just disappear after taking office, can you? My dad just called me too, scolding me like crazy, as if I kidnapped you!" Cassius complained.
Alaric clearly didn't want to deal with Cassius anymore.
Cassius felt a bit bored.
He said gloomily, "I don't know what you're thinking. After all the trouble with Cecilia, you still tried to kiss her. It's a mercy she didn't bite your tongue off."
Alaric glanced at Cassius.
Cassius was justified; he wasn't wrong.
"Alaric," Dashiell interrupted, "Cecilia still refuses to eat. If she continues like this..."
Alaric's face tightened.
"Forget it, you rest first. Cassius, come out for a moment, I have something to tell you," Dashiell said to Cassius.
Cassius was puzzled, wondering what couldn't be said in front of Alaric.
But he didn't hesitate and followed Dashiell out of the ward.
After Cassius and Dashiell left the ward, Alaric also pulled out his IV and got out of bed, walking out.
Cassius and Dashiell were in the hallway, about to speak, when they saw Alaric heading to Cecilia's ward.
"Damn it," Cassius cursed.
Going again.
At this time, Cecilia probably didn't even want to see him.
Dashiell tugged at Cassius's sleeve, "Forget it, let him go. He'll be anxious if he can't see Cecilia."
"I've talked until my mouth is dry, almost kneeling to Alaric. How can he be so stubborn in love? I really want to find a few women to seduce him."
"Unless you want to die."
"That's why I didn't do it." Following Alaric for so many years, Cassius knew his limits well. "By the way, what did you want to talk to me about?"
"The current state of Cecilia and Alaric is not a solution."
"I know, but neither side is backing down. What can we do?" Cassius was so anxious he was almost jumping.
"A third party."
"What do you mean?" Cassius didn't understand but felt a glimmer of hope.
"Who caused the trouble should solve it. Who was the instigator of Cecilia and Alaric's breakup?"
"You mean Juniper?" Cassius exclaimed.
Can Juniper be of any use?
"Yes," Dashiell nodded.
"What for? I'm afraid a world war will break out."
"Juniper is smart. She knows the importance of aligning with Alaric now, so she wouldn't dare really break with him, nor would she dare do anything to Cecilia."
"I really don't know what you're getting at."
"Just contact Juniper, I'll talk to her," Dashiell didn't explain further.
Cassius frowned.
He felt that in some deeper matters, he didn't think as thoroughly as they did.
He called Juniper and then handed the phone to Dashiell.
Dashiell walked to the side to communicate with Juniper.
Cassius didn't know what was said, but after a while, Dashiell said, "Juniper will come to Serenovia City tomorrow, you go pick her up."
"You're making trouble, Dashiell!" Cassius was a bit agitated.
"One last try."
Cassius pursed his lips, then said, "Alright!"
In the quiet hallway.
Suddenly, a loud slap was heard.
Cassius and Dashiell looked at each other, then quickly headed to Cecilia's ward.
In the ward.
Alaric was still holding a bowl of oatmeal.
Cecilia was sitting on the bed.
Alaric's cheek was a bit red.
Clearly, Cecilia had slapped him.
Cassius and Dashiell stopped when they saw this.
"Alaric, can you not appear in front of me?" Cecilia asked him.
She asked him word by word.
She thought he had left.
But unexpectedly, she saw Alaric again.
She said she wouldn't eat.
Yet he still brought the oatmeal to her mouth.
She was really fed up.
Alaric put down the bowl.
He stood up, raising his arm.
Cecilia frowned.
Cassius and Dashiell were a bit nervous.
Following Alaric for many years, they knew every move he made.
Whenever Alaric made this gesture, it meant he was about to do something big.
Sure enough.
Several bodyguards in the ward immediately stepped forward and restrained Cecilia.
Cecilia gritted her teeth.
She glared at Alaric, her eyes welling up with tears.
Then, several doctors in white coats came in and forcibly gave Cecilia an IV.
Cecilia wanted to resist but had no strength to do so.
Cecilia looked coldly at Alaric.
So, finally resorting to violence, huh?
The IV was done.
The bodyguards still restrained Cecilia, making her unable to move.
Alaric spoke.
The doctor had said not to talk for the next couple of days to avoid straining the wound.
But he still spoke to Cecilia, saying, "Cecilia, with today's medical technology, keeping you alive and having you give birth is easy."
Yes.
With today's medical technology.
Whatever Alaric wanted to achieve, he could.
Tears the size of beans fell from Cecilia's eyes one by one.
So much grievance, yet she only cried without saying a word.
The hatred in her eyes grew deeper and deeper.
Cassius and Dashiell couldn't bear to watch anymore.
Even though this could help Cecilia get nutrition and stay alive, it would only make her hate Alaric more.
Hate for too long.
And she would never love again.
No matter how great Alaric's reasons were, Cecilia would never forgive the torment she was going through now.
"Alaric..." Dashiell began.
Before he could finish.
Alaric had already turned and left.
His cold back deeply pierced Cecilia's heart.
In her previous life, she thought the stab in the heart by Dominic was the most painful moment she had ever experienced.
Now she knew.
Some pain doesn't need blood or death.
Yet it can surpass life and death!
