Chapter 622 Seraphina Dreamed of Making Love Again

"This is my advice to you," Atticus said, not wanting to keep the conversation going with Seraphina.

He was worried they'd just end up arguing again if they kept talking.

Lately, he'd been trying to patch things up with Seraphina.

Even though there wasn't much progress, he could tell she was starting to resist him a little less.

At that, Seraphina hung up the phone.

She didn't say it out loud, but she got where Atticus was coming from and didn't want to make things harder for him. A wave of helplessness washed over her.

She had stormed out in anger towards Dashiell, but now she found herself needing to seek him out again. The frustration was overwhelming.

However, Sebastian crossed her mind.

Seraphina bit her lip and told the driver, "Take me back to Everhart Bank."

The driver felt a bit helpless too. It wasn't that he minded making the trip back; he just wondered if Seraphina struggled to stay away from Dashiell, why couldn't she find a way to get along with him?

When Seraphina returned, Daphne was surprised again.

Seraphina felt a bit awkward under Daphne's gaze. She cleared her throat and said, "I just have some unfinished business. If I go back and remember it later, I won't be able to sleep, so I might as well finish it now."

Daphne nodded.

Of course, she didn't dare to say anything more.

After all, there was nothing that Seraphina absolutely had to finish herself.

If she couldn't do it, Dashiell would help her.

To put it bluntly, Seraphina could do it if she wanted to, and if she didn't, Dashiell would do it for her. She had no pressure.

"Has Dashiell left?" Seraphina asked.

She was actually asking knowingly.

Since Daphne was still here, obviously Dashiell hadn't left.

"No, he hasn't," Daphne quickly replied. "Ms. Everhart, do you need to see Mr. Rainier?"

"No, I was just asking," Seraphina quickly denied.

Daphne couldn't help but smile, finding Seraphina's little white lies rather endearing. She shook her head slightly and returned to her work, amused by her friend's predicament.

Meanwhile, Seraphina sat in her seat, torn between her emotions. She had returned on a whim but now felt uneasy about discussing Sebastian with Dashiell. After all, they had just had a major argument, and here she was needing his help!

As the daughter of Atticus, how could she be so frustrated at Everhart Bank?

After a long time, Seraphina finally mustered up the courage.

She knocked on the door, but when there was no response, Seraphina clenched her teeth and pushed it open. Inside the spacious office, she found Dashiell slumped over his desk, apparently asleep.

Seraphina was stunned.

She had never seen Dashiell sleep in the office before.

No matter how late he worked, he never slept.

It was not even 10 PM yet.

Was he too tired to stay awake?

Seraphina suddenly felt soft-hearted.

She had been prepared for a fight with Dashiell, but now she felt like she had no thoughts at all.

Seraphina tiptoed inside, went to Dashiell's resting room, and brought out a blanket, gently covering Dashiell with it.

Dashiell's brow furrowed slightly, and for a moment, Seraphina thought she had woken him. However, he just frowned and drifted back to sleep.

Seeing this, Seraphina let out a deep sigh of relief.

After covering Dashiell with the blanket, she turned to leave.

Just as she was about to leave, she remembered she had come to talk to Dashiell. If she left now, wouldn't it be a wasted trip? After mulling it over, Seraphina decided to sit on the sofa in Dashiell's office and wait for him to wake up.

She figured he wouldn't sleep for long.

So, she played games on her phone while waiting.

She wasn't sure if it was because she hadn't been resting well lately, but even though she hadn't felt sleepy and had taken a nap at the beauty salon, she found herself unable to keep her eyes open after playing a game. Eventually, she dozed off on the sofa.

She dreamed again, this time of making love. The dream felt even more vivid, and she could truly sense the presence of a man beside her.

Suddenly, Seraphina opened her eyes.

The first thing she saw was Dashiell in front of her.

Seraphina was startled and nearly rolled off the sofa. "What are you doing here?!" she exclaimed.

As she yelled at Dashiell, she instinctively squeezed her legs together.

She was worried that Dashiell would notice something. With a stern expression, he asked, "How long do you plan to sleep?"

Seraphina realized she had fallen asleep on the sofa in Dashiell's office. "I didn't want to disturb you," she said.

"It's late; you should go home," Dashiell said coldly.

After saying that, he turned and left.

With his back to Seraphina, Dashiell lightly touched his lips with his fingers, as if wiping away some traces.

Yet Seraphina didn't notice at all.

Her heart was still racing as she wondered if Dashiell had sensed her dream. If he knew she had been craving intimacy lately, wouldn't he just laugh at her?

Thinking of this, she couldn't help but bite her lip.

The sensation on her lips felt very real.

Had she really been lacking sex for too long?

In fact, she had only made love with Dashiell once. She never thought she would crave sex so much!

Seraphina forced herself to calm down and walked out of Dashiell's office.

Outside the office, Dashiell was giving Daphne some instructions, and she appeared visibly tense.

At that time, Dashiell glanced at Seraphina out of the corner of his eye.

He then said to Daphne, "Go home and rest well tonight. You don't need to come to work tomorrow morning. Just come in the afternoon. There's a banquet tomorrow night, so keep your personal time free."

"Got it," Daphne quickly responded.

After Dashiell finished speaking, he left, and Seraphina paused for a moment before quickly following him. Daphne watched their figures as they moved ahead, one after the other.

Earlier, she had accidentally witnessed Dashiell kissing Seraphina and feared she was going to be fired. To her surprise, Dashiell reminded her not to say anything and then proceeded to give her some work instructions.

Daphne watched their retreating figures, puzzled. She had always believed that Dashiell didn't have any affection for Seraphina!

In the elevator, Seraphina finally calmed down and remembered why she had come back.

She said, "Let Sebastian join the special task force you're forming."

Dashiell's eyes narrowed, and Seraphina seemed to sense his anger.

Or maybe it was just her imagination.

She forced herself to continue, "Sebastian is very capable. He should get better training and take on important roles. I hope you won't let personal feelings affect your work. I just told my dad, and he said as long as you agree..."

Seraphina continued speaking, but Dashiell didn't respond at all. Furious, she exclaimed, "Dashiell, did you hear me? I said to let Sebastian join the special task force."
