Chapter 141 Conflict Between the Couple

Cecilia never thought Dominic could be so sneaky.

He was clearly trying to stir up trouble.

Too bad he didn't know she and Alaric were in a fake marriage, just in it for the perks, no feelings involved.

Next thing she knew, Alaric was storming over, grabbing her arm hard.

He yanked her into his chest, and it actually hurt a bit.

She rubbed her nose, thinking, 'Is he nuts?'

Alaric's voice was icy as he said, "Mr. Kingsley, instead of worrying about my wife, you should worry about your own reputation. I heard the Kingsley family’s stocks have been tanking because of you, losing billions."

Dominic tried to play it cool, mocking, "It's just a normal market fluctuation. Mr. Whitaker, if you don't know business, don't talk nonsense and embarrass yourself."

Alaric sneered, and Cecilia, still in his arms, did too.

Dominic had no idea that in the years to come, Alaric would drive him insane.

Alaric's skills were beyond anyone's imagination.

"If you're so confident, just ignore what I said," Alaric said coldly. "But remember this: Cecilia is my wife now, and you better not lay a finger on her!"

Dominic's face darkened.

Alaric hugged Cecilia and started to leave. As they walked away, he paused and added menacingly, "Whichever part of your body touches her, I'll cut it off!"

With that, he left with Cecilia in tow.

Dominic clenched his fists.

He didn't believe the playboy Alaric could really threaten him, even though Alaric's demeanor had been chilling.

Dominic's eyes turned ruthless.

If he couldn't have a good time, no one else would either!

Alaric didn't take Cecilia back to the hall. Instead, he dragged her to a secluded corner, pinning her against the wall harshly. "Wasn't the last lesson enough?"

Cecilia thought Alaric's temper was really bad right now.

Couldn't he see Dominic did it on purpose?

It was clearly to stir up trouble, and he fell for it.

Was he stupid?

Cecilia couldn't help but get angry too. She yelled, "Why are you so mad? It was obvious Dominic did it on purpose to mess with us!"

Alaric shot back, "Do you think that's what I'm worried about?"

"Then what are you worried about? That Dominic touched me?" Cecilia snapped. "Can you stop being so self-righteous? Do you actually believe that even if you don't love a woman, she must remain pure for you and untouchable by other men? Any contact hurts your stupid pride. Alaric, we're in a fake marriage. Even if I sleep with Dominic now, it's none of your business..."

Alaric suddenly silenced her with a kiss.

She knew it.

Men were all the same.

Dominic was that kind of guy.

Alaric was no different.

Thinking back to her past life, Dominic had no interest in her body, wouldn't even look at her, and didn't care about her feelings.

Now that she didn't love him anymore, even hated him, he started clinging to her shamelessly, showing concern. Cecilia knew this concern wasn't genuine; it was possessiveness, pride, and the inability to accept that his woman loved another man. The less he got, the more he had to have!

This was the inherent flaw of all men, innate and unchangeable.

Her eyes narrowed.

"Ah!" Alaric suddenly pulled back from the kiss.

He stared at her angrily.

There was blood on his lips from where she had bitten him.

Cecilia said, "Is it that if I sleep with you, you won't be interested in me anymore?"

Alaric looked at her intently, full of danger.

"If that's the case, find a time, and I'll sleep with you!" Cecilia said.

It was just sex.

She didn't really care.

To her, revenge and living well were more important than anything.

She could accept anything it would take.

At this moment, Alaric seemed really infuriated by Cecilia.

His clenched fist suddenly punched the wall next to her.

The loud noise made it clear how much force he used. She didn't even dare to imagine how swollen and painful his hand would be.

Cecilia tried to stay calm, meeting Alaric's gaze.

She wasn't wrong.

Being forced to the back garden by Dominic today wasn't her choice.

Dominic's deliberate act had nothing to do with her.

In fact, from what she knew of Alaric, he must have seen through Dominic's intentions.

He knew everything, yet he still took it out on her.

Thinking of this, Cecilia's gaze became more determined.

She was sure that Alaric was the one going crazy!

They stood in a stalemate for a long time.

After a long time, Alaric lowered his fist from the wall and released Cecilia.

He seemed to have calmed his emotions.

He said, "Cecilia, one day you'll drive me crazy."

Cecilia frowned. She couldn't believe her ears.

Cecilia was about to retort when she saw Alaric turn and walk away.

He walked away, paused his steps, but didn't look back.

He stood there, seemingly holding back.

After a long time, he spoke up, "What I care about is that when you encounter something, you never think of asking me for help."

Actually, he was always around her.

As long as she asked, he would come and help her without hesitation!

Her eyes moved slightly, and at that moment, she bit her lip lightly. She couldn't help but feel moved by Alaric's words.

She felt like she had done something terribly wrong, hurting someone.

After saying this, Alaric left.

Cecilia watched his disappearing figure.

For a long time, she seemed to adjust her emotions.

She always kept a distance from Alaric.

She didn't want to cross the line.

She admitted, she was scared of everything related to "love."

It was hard for her to get over the psychological shadow of the past.

She didn't want to give Alaric any hope, nor did she want to give herself hope!
