Chapter 809 Seraphina's Business Trip

Seraphina was also a bit upset.

She always trusted everyone.

She always thought that what they said was their reason.

She always thought they had their difficulties.

Whenever she could avoid making things difficult for them, she would try not to.

But after being so bluntly analyzed by Dashiell, she felt a bit foolish.

She nodded, "Okay, I will manage myself and my subordinates."

"I don't need your assurances," Dashiell didn't leave Seraphina any dignity.

Seraphina bit her lip.

Although she felt a bit hurt, she wasn't angry.

She didn't dare to get angry, fearing that Dashiell might really fire her.

She had learned her lesson from the last incident.

Besides, this time she really felt it was her own problem.

"No matter what, finalize the project this week. I don't need any excuses," Dashiell said, leaving the room.

Seraphina watched his back, holding back the tears in her eyes.

She took a deep breath, regained her composure, and looked at Jeremy.

Jeremy was extremely embarrassed at this moment.

Being exposed in public was very shameful.

He said, "I'm sorry, Ms. Everhart, I..."

Jeremy couldn't continue.

It seemed that anything he said would be awkward.

Seraphina pursed her lips and said, "Let's talk after the meeting. We'll discuss this project separately so as not to waste everyone else's time. Continue with your reports on last week's work and next week's plans."

Everyone was surprised that Seraphina calmed down so quickly after being scolded.

She didn't lose her temper; instead, she was very rational.

The subsequent reports were noticeably more serious than before.

No one dared to slack off in front of Seraphina, fearing that Dashiell might publicly scold them next time.

At first, they thought Dashiell was criticizing Seraphina, but upon deeper reflection, it was clear he was supporting her, making sure no one dared to be negligent again.

The meeting ended.

Seraphina asked Jeremy to follow her to the office.

Jeremy felt genuinely guilty towards Seraphina and was extremely embarrassed.

Seraphina was actually a bit angry with Jeremy.

But after thinking it over, she didn't blame Jeremy.

She was just too gullible and easily deceived, and there was nothing she could do about it.

No one dared to deceive Dashiell.

She sighed and said, "Let's think about how we can finalize the project this week."

Jeremy looked at Seraphina, surprised that she didn't blame him.

No matter who it was, they should have a temper.

Although Seraphina was easily trusting, she still had a personality.

He had seen her argue with Atticus in public before, and even with Dashiell during a meeting. He was prepared for Seraphina to lose her temper.

"Dashiell said we must finalize the project this week, so we have to. Otherwise, who knows how badly he'll scold us next time!" Seraphina said, "Now tell me about the project's status. What's the current holdup?"

"The proposal was actually shown to Mr. Ford before, and we reached about eighty percent agreement. But since Mr. Ford has been traveling, we haven't had a good time to discuss the final details, which has led to the delay."

"So the only problem now is that we can't meet Mr. Ford?"

"Yes, once we meet him, I believe we can quickly sign the project contract based on our current intentions."

"Okay," Seraphina nodded, "Since Mr. Ford is not in Serenovia City, we'll go to where he is now to find him."

Jeremy looked at Seraphina in surprise.

Did she mean they were going to travel too?

"Dashiell said our negligence made the other party feel we weren't serious about the project. If we fly over to find him, it shows we're serious!" Seraphina said.

"Okay," Jeremy agreed quickly, feeling that he indeed had issues with the project.

"Prepare yourself. We'll leave early tomorrow morning."

"I'll get ready right away."

Seraphina nodded.

As Jeremy got up to leave, he couldn't help but say, "Ms. Everhart, thank you."

Seraphina was surprised.

Jeremy was grateful that Seraphina didn't embarrass him and shared the burden of this matter with him.

Although Seraphina might not be competent in all aspects now, given time, a leader with such responsibility would definitely have a bright future.

After Jeremy left, Seraphina's suppressed emotions began to collapse a bit.

Dashiell had scolded her in front of so many people again.

And in front of Natalia.

She seemed to see Natalia secretly laughing, mocking her.

She had just decided to go out of town to discuss the contract with Mr. Ford, partly to secure the contract and avoid further criticism from Dashiell.

More importantly, the project had been delayed for too long, affecting Everhart Bank's overall progress. Another reason was to avoid seeing Dashiell.

She needed some breathing space to process the fact that Dashiell had another woman.

Seraphina left early the next morning.

She didn't inform Dashiell.

When Dashiell went to her office, he heard that she had gone out of town with Jeremy.

Although Dashiell didn't say anything, according to the secretary, his face was livid.

During the week Seraphina was on a business trip, Dashiell was terrifying!

Cecilia received a call from Rose a week later.

Apparently, Rose couldn't take it anymore and called Cecilia to complain, "Really, I've never seen such a disgusting leader. Lyra has turned the Lockhart Group into a mess since she arrived. She looks down on everyone, and in her eyes, everyone is worthless. Whatever we say or do is wrong, even breathing is wrong."

Cecilia felt emotional hearing Rose's complaints.

She knew Rose's character well. Rose was very tolerant and wouldn't speak out unless she couldn't bear it anymore.

But Lyra had only been there for a week.

A week, and Rose was already breaking down?

"The proposal you gave her, she doesn't understand anything but keeps nitpicking. A proposal has to be revised at least ten times in her hands. The key is, the reasons for the revisions are ridiculous, like she doesn't like certain words, even though they mean the same thing and aren't important."

"But she insists on changing them to her words. Sometimes, she doesn't like a sentence or two and stops the report halfway, asking us to revise and come back. After the revision, she finds an excuse that she's too busy to review it, which can delay things for two days. Two days later, she suddenly calls in the middle of the night, asking for an immediate report."

Rose was almost in tears as she spoke.

This past week had been a living hell!

She had never seen a leader as terrible as Lyra.

It was simply insane!
