Chapter 201 Sweet Embrace and Kiss
"I just had George prepared some liquid medicine. I'll grab it," Alaric said, walking away.
Cecilia didn't catch what he just said.
She thought, 'Torturing him? I just want him to stay with me tonight. How's that torture?'
Luckily, Alaric was back soon.
He returned with the medicine and approached her.
He set the medicine on the bedside table, then helped her sit up against the headboard.
He scooped a spoonful and brought it to her lips.
"Open up," Alaric said.
Cecilia obediently opened her mouth.
She could've taken it herself, but she couldn't refuse Alaric.
He fed her a spoonful.
"It's so bitter," she grimaced.
"The best medicines usually are," Alaric replied.
"But it's too bitter," she protested.
"Alright, finish it, and I'll give you some candy."
"Can you mix the candy in?"
"No," Alaric said firmly.
Cecilia looked at him, feeling wronged.
"It's an old family remedy. I used to get hurt a lot as a kid, and this always helped me heal fast," Alaric explained.
"You got hurt a lot as a kid?" Cecilia was surprised.
Alaric came from a wealthy family and was always well taken care of. How could he have gotten hurt often?
"Finish the medicine, and I'll tell you," Alaric said, reading her confusion.
Cecilia hesitated.
She really wanted to know more about Alaric.
She gritted her teeth and nodded.
She took another sip and downed most of the bowl.
It was so bitter her mouth went numb.
Then she saw Alaric holding a piece of milk candy.
He unwrapped it and brought it to her lips.
Cecilia eagerly opened her mouth.
But instead of feeding it to her, Alaric put it in his own mouth and kissed her deeply.
'Is this the sweet taste of a kiss?' she thought.
It was so sweet Cecilia felt completely lost in it.
In the quiet room, they embraced tightly, lips locked in a deep kiss.
It was so long that it felt eternal.
Alaric finally released her reddened lips.
His eyes were filled with desire, but he didn't move.
He looked at her flushed lips and asked, "Still bitter?"
Cecilia's face blushed.
Now her mouth was filled with the taste of milk candy.
"Want another piece?" Alaric asked.
She felt like he was treating her like a child.
"No," Cecilia said. She didn't actually like sweets.
It was just too bitter earlier.
Now she wondered if she might start loving the taste of milk candy.
"Then go to sleep early. It's really late," Alaric said.
"Do you want to sleep?" Cecilia suddenly asked.
"Cecilia, 'sleep' can mean a lot of things," Alaric said seriously.
She knew he was teasing her but didn't mind.
"I want to talk to you," she said seriously.
Alaric's throat moved slightly. He guessed what she wanted to say.
"Go ahead," he nodded.
It was late, and after everything that happened tonight, they should both be tired. But Cecilia couldn't sleep.
She looked at Alaric's handsome face, took a deep breath, and asked, "Alaric, do you care about my body?"
"Of course," he answered firmly.
"Do you care about my first time?"
"Very much," he said heavily.
Cecilia bit her lip. His reaction was unexpected. Usually, a man would say he only cared about her heart.
His firm tone left her speechless.
She just stared at him.
Alaric smiled, "I love you, so I care about your everything. Even a single strand of your hair, I'd care if it had been touched by another man."
Cecilia knew it. Men were the least predictable creatures.
"But caring doesn't mean minding," Alaric said sincerely. "I told you, I will never mind you."
So, his earlier words had a deeper meaning.
Cecilia's heart was moved. She was easily touched by Alaric.
"So no matter what happens to you, whether you've been raped or not, I won't mind," Alaric's words sounded like a vow.
He was clearly telling her he wouldn't mind if she had been raped tonight.
Cecilia's throat moved. Some emotions were hard to control.
She didn't know if she wasn't as indifferent as she thought or if Alaric was just that good at melting her cold heart.
She only knew she didn't want to suppress herself anymore.
She realized her feelings had changed. When that man was about to assault her, her mind was full of Alaric. She felt guilty towards him. She really wanted to give her first time to Alaric, only to Alaric.
She hadn't thought about anyone else, including Dominic.
She tried to keep her voice calm and asked, "Alaric, did you just say you love me?"
Alaric was much more straightforward.
"Isn't it obvious?" he said.
"But when did you fall in love with me? We hardly interact. When did you fall in love with me..." she asked.
"Then when did you fall in love with me?" Alaric asked back.
Cecilia's heart tightened. Why was he so sure she loved him?
She wasn't even sure herself.
Where did he get that confidence?
