Chapter 580 Competition (2)

The meeting wrapped up, and everyone headed out.

Sebastian strolled back to his office, feeling a rare burst of joy he hadn't felt in ages.

Trailing behind him were Jeffrey and a few other board members.

As soon as the door shut, they all burst into sinister laughter.

Jeffrey grinned, "No matter how good Dashiell is, he can't change the whole game! He's got guts, I'll give him that. Who does he think he is, aiming to boost revenue by 50% in six months? That's tough even on a good day, let alone with Unity World Bank moving in. It's just not gonna happen."

He paused, then continued, "I've been digging around, and Unity World Bank is setting up shop in Serenovia City within a week. Their usual move is to grab market share with the lowest returns. This means Everhart Bank is definitely gonna lose some of its shares. It's a safe bet that Everhart Bank won't see any profit growth in the next six months; in fact, it might even drop by ten percent."

Sebastian listened, feeling pretty pleased with himself.

Getting Dashiell out of Everhart Bank in two months—now that would be sweet.

Jeffrey went on, "Unity World Bank's timing is perfect. Sure, their arrival means a hit for Everhart Bank, but competition is always there. Everhart Bank can't stay on top forever; this day was bound to come. I just didn't think it would be so perfect. I can't wait to see Dashiell get booted out of Everhart Bank. That'll be so satisfying! Let's see how cocky he is then!"

During Dashiell's time at Everhart Bank, he was a real stickler for rules, making it nearly impossible for these execs to get any shady perks. Naturally, they wanted someone more flexible and easier to control, like Sebastian, to take over.

"Don't get too cocky. Dashiell's no pushover," Sebastian warned.

"No matter how good he is, he can't dodge this bullet," Jeffrey laughed. "Mr. Everest, we're counting on you in the future."

Sebastian replied, "Let's not get ahead of ourselves."

"Look at you, being all humble..." The room was filled with flattery.

Basking in the compliments, Sebastian saw a clear path ahead—with Dashiell out of the picture and Atticus trusting him again, taking over Everhart Bank would be a breeze!

Meanwhile, Dashiell returned to his office. The competition from Unity World Bank was definitely a challenge.

Recently, Dashiell had finally figured out all the operations at Everhart Bank and spotted areas for revenue growth. But with Unity World Bank's arrival, his original plans were thrown off course, making progress tough.

Now, he had to not only grow the market but also defend Everhart Bank's existing market share.

For a mature business, keeping the current market share was actually harder.

Dashiell was deep in thought, not as calm and collected as he had seemed in the meeting.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

Dashiell's eyes flickered, and he said, "Come in."

As Seraphina walked in, their eyes met, and Dashiell's gaze turned cold.

Seraphina didn't show any emotion. She said, "My dad wants you to come to his office with me. He has something important to discuss."

"Got it," Dashiell nodded.

Seraphina delivered the message and turned to leave.

Dashiell didn't waste any time either and got up to follow her.

They entered the elevator together, staying silent like strangers.

Seraphina had calmed down. After thinking a lot last night, she realized she had been overthinking things.

She should have figured out Dashiell's attitude towards her a long time ago.

The elevator doors opened.

Dashiell and Seraphina walked into Atticus's office one after the other and sat down in front of his desk.

"I called you in to discuss Unity World Bank," Atticus said seriously.

Hearing this, Seraphina frowned and complained, "You could have just talked to Dashiell about this. Why call me? I can't offer any opinions and don't even understand."

"If you don't understand, then learn!" Atticus said sternly.

Seraphina was annoyed.

Atticus could be quite grumpy when it came to work, but Seraphina wasn't the type to just take it.

She snapped at Atticus, "Why should I learn? I didn't come to this company voluntarily!"

Atticus said, "Can't you be a bit more ambitious? How can I trust you with Everhart Bank in the future?"

"Sebastian is capable, isn't he? Why didn't you call him?" Seraphina was agitated.

Hearing her words, Atticus was furious.

"Why not call Sebastian? Why call Dashiell, an outsider?" Seraphina demanded.

"Because I'm more trustworthy," Dashiell interjected.

"You are not," Seraphina shot back. She then turned to Atticus and said, "He's just here for Everhart Bank. He wants to take it over in the future!"

"Then I'm willing to give it to him," Atticus said bluntly.

Seraphina glared at Atticus.

"If you don't want to listen, then leave," Atticus said, not wanting to waste any more words.

He was really at his wit's end with Seraphina.

How did he raise her to be so unambitious?

Seraphina stood up to leave, having had no intention of listening or participating in the first place.

Just as she reached the door, she suddenly stopped.

If she left now, she wouldn't know what Atticus and Dashiell were discussing.

What if, in a fit of anger, Atticus really gave Everhart Bank to Dashiell?

After all, no matter how bad her relationship with Atticus was, Seraphina was his only child and had the right to inherit his estate. If it was given to Dashiell, she would regret it deeply.

With this in mind, Seraphina suddenly turned around and plopped back into her chair.

Atticus glared at her. "What now, not leaving?"

"Well, I'm just killing time," Seraphina said nonchalantly.

Atticus was so angry he wanted to curse.

However, Dashiell spoke up, "I've actually thought about it. To stop Unity World Bank from entering the Yakurosean Empire and taking our market, the best and least damaging way is to find their weakness and hold them back."

Atticus was instantly intrigued by Dashiell's words and stopped arguing with Seraphina.

He asked, "Do you have any good ideas?"

Dashiell replied, "I have some understanding of Unity World Bank. Logically, now is not the best time for them to enter the Yakurosean Empire. Their sudden move makes me think we should find out the reason behind it."
