Chapter 548 Implementing the Plan (2) Meeting Lyra
In the car, Cecilia was lost in her thoughts.
Cassius called, "Cecilia, Lyra just left the Kingsley Mansion."
"With who?" Cecilia asked.
"Penelope," Cassius replied.
"Just the two of them?" Cecilia questioned.
"Yep," Cassius confirmed.
"Where are they headed?" Cecilia inquired.
"Not sure. Got someone tailing them. I'll keep you posted," Cassius said.
"Alright," Cecilia nodded.
She turned to Augustus and said, "We're not heading back yet. Head to Harmony Threads."
"Got it," Augustus responded.
Half an hour later, Cassius called again, "They're at SavorySpectrum Restaurant. You coming?"
"Of course," Cecilia said, "I need to have a little chat with Lyra."
After hanging up, Cecilia checked herself in the makeup mirror, already dressed to the nines. She dialed a number, "Dashiell, you off work?"
"Still wrapping up a few things," Dashiell replied.
"Meet me at SavorySpectrum Restaurant. I'll be waiting," Cecilia said.
"Alright," Dashiell agreed without hesitation.
He saved his files, shut down his computer, and left work. He was used to irregular hours and often lost track of time if no one reminded him.
He got into the elevator and pressed the button for the first floor.
A few floors down, the elevator doors opened, and Seraphina walked in, her expression souring at the sight of Dashiell. It seemed like every time she saw him, her mood took a nosedive.
Dashiell acted like he didn't notice her. He was a bit surprised that Seraphina was staying late at work more often now. On second thought, it might be because she was waiting for Sebastian, who worked late. It made sense for Seraphina to wait for him, but Sebastian wasn't around at the moment.
Of course, Dashiell wouldn't ask; it was just a passing thought.
Standing next to Dashiell, Seraphina felt uneasy. She was just bored and decided to work late, only to run into Dashiell. Wasn't he the one who usually left work late? Why was he leaving just past 6 today?
Just as she was wondering, Dashiell's phone rang.
He glanced at it and answered, "I'll be there in fifteen minutes."
"I'm not rushing you," Cecilia chuckled. "Just letting you know to dress up a bit."
"Why?" Dashiell smiled.
"I need you to charm Penelope, got it?" Cecilia said.
"Got it," Dashiell replied.
After hanging up, Dashiell noticed Seraphina's intense gaze.
"Do you need something?" He asked, his tone noticeably colder, his smile gone.
"A date?" Seraphina asked.
Dashiell often ignored irrelevant questions, so he didn't answer.
"What exactly is your relationship with Penelope now?" Seraphina was curious. She always felt like Dashiell and Penelope were dating. But then again, maybe not.
"Just friends," Dashiell replied. He wasn't worried about Seraphina misunderstanding. He just didn't want to complicate things for himself. He knew Seraphina's personality well; if he didn't clarify, she would keep pestering him about it.
"Not dating?" Seraphina asked again.
"No," Dashiell said.
"Then who just called you..." Before Seraphina could finish, the elevator doors opened.
Dashiell stepped out, leaving her behind. His indifference and impatience were evident.
Seraphina gritted her teeth. What was the big deal? She didn't care anyway!
When Dashiell arrived at SavorySpectrum Restaurant, Cecilia was already waiting at the entrance.
He asked directly, "Is a suit and tie okay?"
He hadn't bothered to change clothes. His attire was almost always the same, whether he dressed up or not.
"That's fine," Cecilia nodded.
Dashiell was quite handsome, with a good physique. In formal wear, he looked restrained and composed, which suited him well.
Cecilia took Dashiell's arm, startling him visibly.
"I'm not trying to flirt with you, just putting on a show," Cecilia said, exasperated.
Dashiell calmed down and nodded.
They walked into SavorySpectrum Restaurant together. The staff respectfully led them to a spot by the floor-to-ceiling windows, right next to Lyra and Penelope.
It was clear that Lyra and Penelope hadn't noticed them yet. Penelope was very enthusiastic towards Lyra. Dominic had told her that Lyra was the family's pillar of support, so they needed to treat her well. Once Dominic had everything under control, they could handle Lyra however they wanted. But for now, they had to show her the utmost respect.
So both Penelope and Octavia were extremely kind to Lyra. Today, Lyra casually mentioned wanting grilled salmon, so Penelope immediately brought her to the best grilled salmon restaurant in Serenovia City.
As they chatted and laughed, Penelope said, "You have no idea how much Dominic likes you. Before you came to Serenovia City, when your relationship wasn't public, Dominic would stare at your photos on his phone. I've never seen him like that."
"Really?" Lyra tried to hide her inner joy. In the presence of the Kingsley family, Lyra always upheld her noble Monroe family demeanor, looking down on Octavia and Penelope. She was used to their flattery, thinking it was only natural.
"Of course, it's true," Penelope quickly said. But in her heart, she despised Lyra. How could Dominic truly care for any woman? He only wanted supreme power. When he gained power, Lyra's fate would be miserable!
Lyra said, "Didn't he used to like Cecilia?"
"Are you kidding?" Penelope exaggerated. "Dominic never liked Cecilia. If it weren't for our grandfather's arranged marriage, Dominic would never have been with Cecilia. He has only ever liked you."
"Dominic probably likes my family's power, right?" Lyra joked.
Penelope was taken aback. She thought that Lyra wasn't entirely foolish.
She quickly responded, "Lyra, you should sense how Dominic treats you. You know better than us whether he likes you."
Lyra looked a bit smug. "That's true. Dominic's feelings for me are genuine."
"Don't worry, Lyra. Dominic is wholeheartedly devoted to you. He couldn't join you for dinner tonight because of some matters, but he repeatedly told me to take good care of you. Look at the messages he sent me; I'm jealous." Penelope deliberately showed her phone to Lyra. The chat was, of course, staged by Penelope and Dominic.
Lyra glanced at it. Despite trying to hide it, her joy was evident on her face. Penelope watched, feeling deeply sarcastic. Lyra was so easy to deceive.
Penelope and Lyra continued chatting. Suddenly, a woman walked past them, and Penelope instinctively glanced at her.
Women were often drawn to other women, perhaps out of comparison. A well-dressed woman could catch another woman's eye.
With just a few glances, Penelope's expression instantly changed. Wasn't that Cecilia? Dressed so flamboyantly, what scheme was she plotting now?
