Chapter 289 Sharing the Same Bed

Seraphina felt a bit of pain in her nose.

She thought, 'The bed isn't usually this hard?

'Did Lucy, the nanny, change the sheets and blankets today?!'

She uncomfortably twisted her body.

Her soft body kept rubbing against Dashiell.

Dashiell remained motionless, not even making a sound.

Then he held back a little harder.

Seraphina seemed to find a comfortable position and then fell asleep.

She really drank too much tonight.

After leaving the party with Dashiell, she handed him over to the driver and took a cab herself.

She went straight to a nightclub.

Once there, she kept drinking.

She was upset.

Thinking about her current marriage made her want to cry.

Especially since she saw Sebastian today, which made her even more emotional.

So she could only drown her sorrows in alcohol.

She didn't expect to actually get herself drunk.

She usually drank a lot but only got half-tipsy. Tonight, she was so drunk she didn't even know how she got home.

Fortunately, she did make it back.

She lay down on the bed and slept.

After a good sleep, she wouldn't feel the hangover tomorrow.

And she did sleep well.

Usually, as long as she wanted to sleep, she would fall asleep immediately.

Insomnia was something she never experienced.

Only she fell asleep, and slept comfortably. The man underneath her, however, was tense, and he just kept his eyes open until dawn.

It was really dawn.

Dashiell finally closed his eyes and fell asleep.

At that moment, he was so exhausted that he couldn't keep his eyes open and finally drifted off.

Seraphina woke up because she urgently needed to pee.

Every time she got drunk, she absolutely woke up the next day with pee.

She moved her body, feeling a bit uncomfortable.

She felt something hard underneath her.

She groggily opened her eyes.

Sometimes, when she was too tired, she'd go to the bathroom with her eyes shut and fall right back to sleep. But now, something felt off, so she made an effort to open her eyes.

The moment she did, she was stunned.

Seraphina thought, 'Am I still dreaming?

'How could i possibly be lying on top of Dashiell?'

She was sprawled out like a frog on his chest, her head nestled against his neck. To make matters worse, she noticed a glistening droplet of saliva on Dashiell's pale neck—her drool from her sleep?

She thought, 'No. This can't be real.

'I must still be dreaming.'

Quickly, she shut her eyes again, trying to go back to sleep, desperately wishing to wake up from this nightmare.

Suddenly, she snapped her eyes open again.

Dashiell was still there.

Dashiell, who was frowning even in his sleep.

"Fuck!"

She thought, 'Can someone please explain what is happening right now? How am I in the same room as Dashiell? How am I lying on top of him?'

Just then, the door swung open.

Before Seraphina could say a word, the person who entered let out a loud exclamation.

Seraphina thought, 'Who is scaring who here?

Lucy, the maid, barged in without knocking? Are they all this familiar now?'

Dashiell was jolted awake by the sudden exclamation.

For a moment, it felt like he had just closed his eyes. Struggling to open them, he was immediately struck by what he saw.

It wasn't just Seraphina sprawled on top of him that stunned him, but also the sight of Magnolia standing in the doorway alongside Lucy.

Magnolia's face flushed a bit as she took in the scene.

She'd always assumed that even if the couple were married, they wouldn't be so physically close. It seemed the younger generation's ways were beyond her understanding.

"Maybe I arrived a bit too early. You two carry on," she said, trying to maintain her composure.

Seraphina was in complete shock.

She was already irritated by Lucy's sudden entrance, but discovering that Magnolia had followed her was a whole new level of mortification.

Magnolia's expression was one of clear astonishment.

But true to her experience, Magnolia quickly regained her poise, showing no sign of embarrassment as she shut the door behind her.

Seraphina hadn't even had a chance to utter her "It's not what it looks like" before the door was firmly closed.

She was at a loss for words, unable to make sense of the situation.

"Maybe you should get up," Dashiell suggested, clearly aware of Seraphina's distress.

Seraphina abruptly realized she was still lying on top of Dashiell, practically crushing him.

She shot up from him in a panic. "How did I end up in your bed last night?!"

Her voice was accusatory, and Dashiell looked somewhat pained.

He averted his gaze, clearly uncomfortable with her glare.

"You got drunk last night and ended up in the wrong room," he replied.

"Couldn't you have at least woken me up? You knew I was drunk!" she shot back.

"I didn't wake you because…" Dashiell hesitated. "I didn't want to disturb you."

Dashiell was lying, and his ears turned red, though Seraphina didn't notice.

"Well, you could have pushed me off!" Seraphina was nearly in tears. How could he let her stay in his bed?

"I couldn't move you. After all, I'm disabled and don't have the strength," Dashiell explained.

Seraphina felt like she wanted to dive into a river.

She thought, 'How have I ended up in Dashiell's bed? And Magnolia has walked in on us!

'I don't even want to imagine what Magnolia must think of me now. Surely, Magnolia thought I was being inappropriate.'

She cursed herself silently, thinking, 'Why did I drink so much? Why did I get so drunk?'

Fuming, Seraphina stormed out of the room and flung open the door.

In the living room, Magnolia was sitting on the sofa, with Lucy serving her coffee. As Magnolia was about to speak when Seraphina emerged, the door slammed shut with a loud bang.

Seraphina locked herself back in the room.

She was so angry she felt like she could disappear on the spot!

She thought, 'Why did I even agree to live under the same roof as Dashiell?

'I've spent the whole night curled up with him…

'I don't even know if anything else had happened between them.'

Screaming in frustration, Seraphina thought, 'Maybe I should just bang my head against the wall and be done with it!'
