Chapter 802 Seraphina Gave the Wrong Gift
Seraphina returned to Everhart Bank.
She hesitated for a long time in the Everhart Bank garage.
Getting out of the car, then back in, over and over again, she finally made up her mind.
She walked into the Everhart Bank building.
The employees coming and going inside all greeted her respectfully.
It seemed that no one was looking at her strangely because of the high-level meeting today.
She thought that appearing at Everhart Bank now would definitely attract curious stares.
Seraphina couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
The professionalism in the workplace was quite high.
Thinking this, Seraphina walked a bit more confidently, pressed the elevator button, and went in.
Should she go to Dashiell's office first or her own?
After some hesitation.
Seraphina pressed the button for Dashiell's floor.
Then she nervously watched the elevator numbers change one by one.
When the elevator arrived with a ding, even such a small sound startled Seraphina.
She took a deep breath and, with her high heels clicking, marched towards Dashiell's office.
At the door, she instantly lost her nerve.
She still didn't dare to knock and go in.
What if she went in and Dashiell told her to get out?
She could already imagine the scene!
Seraphina was having an internal struggle, and just as she was about to flee, the office door suddenly opened.
Dashiell appeared at the door with a document in hand, pausing when he saw Seraphina.
Seraphina was about to speak.
Dashiell walked past her directly, heading to the adjacent secretary's office, seemingly to give some instructions.
Seraphina was ignored but didn't leave.
Seeing Dashiell in person, she felt he wasn't as intimidating as she thought, even though he ignored her.
After giving instructions, Dashiell returned to his office.
He still treated Seraphina like she was invisible.
Seraphina reluctantly followed Dashiell into his office.
Dashiell sat in his chair, eyes fixed on the computer screen, fingers tapping the keyboard, seriously working, as if Seraphina didn't exist.
Seraphina stood in his office for a long time without Dashiell acknowledging her, so she had to speak up, "Um, I was a bit impulsive this morning."
Dashiell's typing paused.
He still didn't acknowledge Seraphina.
Seraphina bit her lip, "I shouldn't have been so impulsive. I was just a bit hurt in my pride. Next time, no matter how you scold me, I won't argue. I swear."
Dashiell remained cold.
He didn't even glance at Seraphina.
Seraphina felt quite foolish.
But she had come this far, had already submitted and admitted her mistake, so she couldn't just leave.
She mustered up her courage and took out a gift box from her pocket.
She had originally planned to come directly.
But she thought, for an apology, a gift was necessary.
That's how social interactions work.
So she had gone to the mall to buy a small gift.
She had actually spent a long time choosing it.
She didn't know if Dashiell would like it.
She walked up to Dashiell and placed the exquisite gift box in front of him.
Dashiell's eyes paused.
He finally looked up at her.
Then he looked at the gift box in front of him.
"I noticed you accidentally dropped and broke your pen during the meeting last time, so I bought a new one. The salesperson said this pen is very good, especially for signing, making the handwriting look nicer," Seraphina said ingratiatingly.
Dashiell's Adam's apple moved slightly, and in a deep voice, he said, "Bribing me?"
"No," Seraphina quickly shook her head, "This little thing doesn't count as a bribe. I just hope we can put this morning's unpleasantness behind us."
Dashiell stared at Seraphina.
Seraphina felt a bit awkward under Dashiell's gaze.
She said, "Um, I won't disturb your work anymore. I'll leave."
"Wait," Dashiell called out to her.
Seraphina bit her lip.
Dashiell must be asking her to take the gift back.
He must be telling her never to appear in front of him again.
She faced Dashiell with an expression like she was going to the gallows.
"This is your work plan for the next period," Dashiell casually picked up a blue folder from the side.
Seraphina was stunned.
She stared wide-eyed at Dashiell.
"Don't want it?" Dashiell raised an eyebrow.
Seraphina eagerly took it, "Yes, of course, I want it. I'll do whatever you ask, just don't kick me out."
"Don't let it happen again," Dashiell said coldly.
"Absolutely!" Seraphina promised.
"Leave."
"Yes."
Afraid that Dashiell would change his mind, Seraphina ran out.
Dashiell watched Seraphina's back.
His tense expression gradually softened, and a barely noticeable smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.
He glanced at the black gift box on his desk.
Seraphina was really trying hard to learn social skills, even knowing to give gifts.
What surprised him was that Seraphina had noticed his pen was broken.
He thought someone as careless as Seraphina would never notice such details.
And he had been too busy to buy a new one.
Dashiell picked up the gift box and opened it.
A dark green pen lay inside, very exquisite.
Seraphina always had good taste.
Dashiell took it out, and underneath the pen box was a card that read: [Wishing Mr. Montgomery a bright future.]
Dashiell smiled slightly.
At that moment, Dashiell played with the card in his hand for a while.
Until someone knocked on the door.
Dashiell quickly put the card in the drawer, his expression returning to normal, "Come in."
His secretary, Daphne, entered, "Mr. Montgomery, a request has come to you regarding the Snowpeak Enterprises commercial loan. I reported it to you earlier. Could you approve it? It's urgent."
"I just looked at it, but I didn't see that request," Dashiell said, "Come to my computer and find it."
"Okay." Daphne walked to Dashiell's desk.
Dashiell moved slightly to the side.
Daphne leaned closer to the screen, her eyes pausing.
At that moment, Dashiell also noticed the text on the screen.
He calmly took the mouse and deleted it.
Daphne didn't dare to react.
Even though she saw the screen full of "Seraphina" names, she didn't dare to show any curiosity.
She knew Dashiell had deep feelings for Seraphina.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have immediately ordered everyone not to spread what happened in the meeting today.
Otherwise.
Seraphina would have been so embarrassed in front of the employees when she returned!
