Chapter 119 Asking Cassius for Help, Alaric is Upset
Roy was so furious at Cecilia's arrogant words.
"You think you can do whatever you want just because you're the chairman's daughter? Do you know who I am?" Roy shouted angrily.
"No matter who you are, your status is nothing compared to mine!" Cecilia said with an air of superiority.
Her overbearing attitude was truly infuriating!
Roy was so angry he wanted to hit Cecilia. At that moment, he thought better of it, turned around, and left in a rage, leaving a harsh warning, "Let's wait and see!"
Cecilia sneered. She wanted to provoke Roy to the point of revealing the person behind him. Taking down someone like Roy was nothing; catching the big fish was the key!
She picked up the phone and dialed an extension. "Rose, keep an eye on where Roy goes right now."
"Yes," Rose replied respectfully.
Roy stormed into the office of senior executive Charles. "Mr. Wolf, are you going to do something about this or not?! Cecilia wants to fire me!"
Charles's face darkened when he saw Roy barging into his office without any respect or hesitation. "Didn't I tell you not to come looking for me at the company?"
"If I don't come to you, I'm going to get kicked out of the company!" Roy couldn't suppress his anger!
"Dose Cecilia think she can fire you just like that? Who does she think she is?" Charles said dismissively, "Even Theodore has to show me some respect. What right does she have to mess with my people!"
"She's a fearless rookie. Didn't you see how arrogant she was just now? She's just relying on her dad being the chairman to do whatever she wants!" Roy said angrily, "If she really doesn't care about the consequences, I'll be fired! I've worked here for 20 years. Where else can I find such an easy and well-paying job?"
Charles sneered. "Don't worry, even if she doesn't care about the consequences, I won't let her fire you. Just wait for my news."
Roy said, "You better not be messing with me!"
Charles replied, "I wouldn't mess with my father-in-law, would I?" Charles said with a lewd smile, "You know how much I love your daughter, don't you?"
Roy thought for a moment and nodded, but still said uneasily, "Anyway, I can't lose this job."
"Got it," Charles replied.
Roy left.
Charles leisurely picked up the phone and dialed, "Vincent, my condolences."
Vincent sighed heavily.
Even after a couple of days, he was still struggling with his grief, so he had taken a long leave from work.
"Do you need something?" Vincent knew that Charles wouldn't call without a reason.
Charles said, "It's about your niece Cecilia. She's causing trouble again."
"What happened?" Vincent got angry just hearing Cecilia's name!
Charles explained the situation with the sales department and the plan to fire Roy.
"Cecilia is really out of control!" Vincent was furious.
"So I want to take this opportunity to teach her a lesson. Last time, she humiliated us, and I haven't gotten over it!" Charles said.
"I'm even angrier!" Vincent said angrily, "I've wanted to deal with Cecilia for a long time!"
"Then let's give her a good lesson."
"Alright. But I really don't feel like going to the office these days. You handle Cecilia for me," Vincent said, still heartbroken over Isadora.
Charles replied, "No problem. I just wanted to let you know so you don't think I'm hiding anything from you," Charles said, not forgetting to offer some comfort, "Take care of yourself and stay strong."
"Okay."
They hung up.
Charles's face turned cold. Cecilia, that ungrateful woman, really thought she could do whatever she wanted!
In the sales director's office.
Rose reported, "He went to Mr. Wolf's office."
"Charles?" Cecilia's eyes narrowed.
No wonder Roy could be so arrogant.
Rose asked, "Do you need me to investigate their relationship further?"
Cecilia replied, "No, just do the work I assigned you."
"Yes."
Rose left, and Cecilia didn't hesitate to dial another number, "Alaric."
"Surprised you called me so soon," Alaric chuckled.
Alaric was so full of himself.
She said, "Give me Cassius's number."
"Are you sure you got the name right?" Alaric's tone changed noticeably.
"Cassius," Cecilia repeated, a bit exasperated.
Alaric hesitated for two seconds, then recited a string of numbers.
Cecilia noted it down and said, "Thanks."
Before Alaric could respond, the call was disconnected.
Alaric stared at his phone in disbelief.
"Looks like you're the only one thinking about her, while she doesn't think about you at all," Cassius teased.
Alaric shot him a deadly look.
Cassius shut up.
Just then, his phone rang.
Cassius looked at the number and said deliberately, "Cecilia!"
Alaric pretended not to hear.
Cassius answered, "Cecilia."
"You know my number?" Cecilia was surprised.
"Sort of," Cassius replied nonchalantly.
What does "sort of" mean?
Cecilia thought Alaric's friends were all a bit odd.
She said, "I need a favor."
Cassius said, "Go ahead."
Cecilia said, "Help me find out what the relationship is between Charles from the Lockhart Group and Roy, an employee of the Lockhart Group. Do they have any secrets?"
"Sure," Cassius agreed immediately.
After all, he had Alaric's nod of approval.
Cecilia was a bit surprised by Cassius's promptness.
She was about to say thank you when Cassius suddenly asked, "By the way, why did you ask me instead of Alaric?"
"The Blackburn family has influence in both legal and illegal circles. With your extensive network, why would I go to Alaric? If I asked him, he'd just come to you for help. Wouldn't that be redundant?" Cecilia said matter-of-factly.
"Are you underestimating Alaric?" Cassius said with a smug smile.
He could clearly see Alaric's face darken.
"It's not underestimating; it's just that everyone has their expertise. He's not as good at this as you are, and I don't want to trouble him," Cecilia explained clearly.
"You must have some misunderstanding about Alaric!" Cassius couldn't help but laugh.
"What?" Cecilia was puzzled.
Seeing Alaric's glare, Cassius quickly got back on track, "I'll let you know when I have news."
"The sooner, the better. It's urgent," Cecilia said, knowing Charles wouldn't give her much time.
"Got it," Cassius agreed.
Cecilia said, "Thanks."
"You're welcome."
After hanging up, Cassius noticed Alaric's icy stare.
He quickly said, "I'll go handle your wife's matter. Talk later."
Without waiting for Alaric to respond, he bolted.
